Are we sure Amy isn't a user here? 😂

I am loving her content though, I'm trying to only follow fitness instagrams where the person is actually qualified to talk about fitness and Amy is great.
saaaaame, tooo many girls slipped through the Instagram net and got fame over just having a good body. Was unfair to ever call them fitness influencers when they have no fitness/ pt qualifications (this isn’t even just grace, there’s looooads of them. Like when random reality stars give workouts on their insta, I’m like- c’mon(tana) 👀 )

it’s great grace can maintain a slim physique and big a from doing ten mins of mountain climbers. But she shouldn’t have a stage to sell it to people

I think we need to now move into letting women explore what type of fitness they enjoy rather than copying people like Grace and hoping for the same results. I had a realisation that I'm so much happier with my body now I'm less interested in the aesthetics side of lifting- THAT'S what fitness instagram should develop into, rather than things like Shreddy which are still so clearly focused on promoting that all women should be losing weight, not educating women on how to build muscle and strength. (Especially in the upper body, fitness girls on instagram barely discuss upper body workouts!)

This is extremely true and this is it. This is actually the (mental) golden key to the change that everyone aspires to achieve in their body and mentality. An app or a basic unqualified influencer isn't going to give it to you, only you could once you start testing around and listening / loving your body more. However I do believe the right person can guide you and many of these influencers aren't it esp as long as they keep replicating and regurgitating the same old "large burning booty burning" tit.

You mean Tana as in Tana Mongeau? Ffs :ROFLMAO:🥴

Speaking of moving away from aesthetic based fitness gurus/influencers; someone I like following is a licensed personal trainer @linnlowes on Instagram. Amazing physique but emphasises health overall due to the fact that she is a cancer survivor. Humble and sweet. She used to be an ambassador for Womens Best a few years back but she did not want to collaborate with them anymore after she discovered that BCAA's basically don't do what they promise you (and I oop... hint hint Grace!), and she basically almost never does sponsored posts due to the fact that she is picky. The giveaways that she does comes out of her own pocket (she often gives away Lulu's or Apple watches), or are in collaboration with FitPlan (she is a trainer for them so it makes sense).

Basically, the total opposite of Grace. She also shows incorrect form and shares helpful tips, either for the gym or for home with adaptations accordingly. Genuinely have learnt a lot from her.

Imagine spending so much money to have a gym just to use it like this? Proves she doesn’t use it as often as she makes out.
I think it’s for a shoot I don’t think it’s perm, but yeah she probably doesn’t use it let be honest

I think people must have mentioned it. Georgia is also not posting any pics of makeup although you can clearly see she’s at Grace’s

Guys sorry for my ignorance but I don't live in the UK; what are the government rules regarding people like MUA's coming over for an at home photo shoot? I mean I'm not surprised that she isn't being more careful or considerate, as was blatantly obvious with her vacay to France of course.

I also saw the photo but didn't take a screenshot, I should know better 😅

I’m not sure about Mua but I thought beauticians etc here still weren’t open? I had my hair cut in my parents garden, we both wore masks, which obviously is impossible with makeup.. seems v risky. But as usual “influencers” just do what they want 🙄

@cookiemunchmunch, no, I don't think they are allowed to open. Any face-treatments (e.g. hair-removal, makeup application, eyebrow/eyelash treatments like LVL or extensions or microblading) aren't allowed: https://www.womenshealthmag.com/uk/beauty/a33007577/beauty-salons-re-open-the-uk/ https://www.telegraph.co.uk/beauty/...open-open-august-government-guidelines-rules/ the .gov.uk website has a page on this but there's so much information to go through - I CBA!

I think the MUA is wrong to do this, but I get why she's doing it. It must be really frustrating to see people going out, drinking at bars in close proximity with several different groups of people in London and crowding beaches, but not being able to get back to work and earn some money. I do feel for her. I don't feel for Grace, though - does she really need to have yet another shoot and have her makeup done professionally for it? I suppose she thinks because she's been COVID-tested it's fine, but she's been out so many times since then that there's no saying she hasn't picked it up.

Ella Eyre is a pop musician and she shot a music video and did her own makeup on her own in her living room.

Make up artists/ beauty is still a closed industry. You can have hair done and nails with staff and customer wearing masks/ gloves , but anything facial is not allowed

Not surprised she’s done this though she liked this tweet the other day. Someone was calling out companies that are going against gov guidelines and offering waxing, eyelashes etc. And someone replied saying you dont know the person’s situation, they may not have a choice etc. I just can’t deal with the fact she is on a constant high horse and she has been so irresponsible with this entire pandemic.

any guesses on what the shoot is for? Outfits are not great

Thanks everyone for clarifying! No worries those links you provided are perfectly clear :) Where I live you can go to the salon to get your nails, lashes, brows, facials, pedicures and hair done (with a mask at all times) so I was not sure about the UK specifically. Not sure about make up artists here per se though.

But I agree; I completely understand that at a certain point you have to prioritise your income unfortunately which in itself is obviously not great and I completely empathise. But then I hope Grace is paying her very generously because the MUA is taking several risks in going to her house for a[nother] shoot. Grace certainly can do it herself, but I think it is a status thing to have a MaKeUP aRtiSt coming to MY hOusEeeEe rather than doing it herself. She really reminds me of a Swedish entrepreneur/blogger that considered doing her own make up like a personal mile stone since she could no longer afford a personal MUA. Same with cooking for herself and her kids. She had an at home chef and could no longer afford that either. So yeah idk, she probably can't help herself and I am sure she has her justifications for it as usual.

Yes to this so much! Grace has jumped on the body positivity band wagon but her whole business model is essentially promoting one type of training for women... having a big bum and a tiny waist. There is nothing wrong obviously with training to look good but I totally agree once you get out of the that mode of trying to achieve something that is barely real in the first place (hello filters, photoshop etc) and just enjoy seeing what your body can do you end up being physically and mentally much happier.

As someone who is always talking about being a 'boss babe' feminist you would think that she would create brands focussed on women achieving anything they want physically, whether that's cycling, crossfit, yoga etc rather than just being aesthetically pleasing to men.

I've previously suffered with anorexia and bulimia and in my journey to recovery I started using exercise as a way to purge calories. I've been really lucky to get out that headspace and now I know I just enjoy seeing what my body can actually do physically. I think there are a lot of fitness influencers out there who don't get enough credit that simply train your body physically that should get way more credit and promotion than Grace does.

Grace definitely isn’t following the rules correctly. I saw her in a bar yesterday and she was in a group of about 12 (rules are for outdoor spaces Max 6 different households and I know none of them bar 2 people live in the same household) and then the guy she was with had another table of friends that they kept going between to interact with that group (another 7/8 people) which also isn’t allowed per the government guidelines
