sooo this is what i've found
There's a lot of trans women like this. They openly talk like this and then claim it's just a 'joke' yet, myself and two other lesbians were told to leave our LGBT group because we refused to ''re-examine'' (change) our sexual orientation and were therefore deemed unsafe to trans women.

Not surprised Schofield had a dig at Kiera Bell. Probably doesn’t even understand what she’s fighting for the pathetic little maggot.

2 and 3 year old children don’t have enough of an understanding to be saying these things without being influenced in some way. This is insanity. Let your son wear a dress but don’t let him think that dresses=girl, what is wrong with these parents. They are actively breeding mental health issues into their children.

I’m sorry but no way would a 3 year old know what a ‘dead name’ is. That’s not common vernacular for most adults let alone a child. How many of these parents are saying to their kids ‘do you think you’re in the wrong body?’ or the other parrot phrases and kids being kids just say yes? 😤

Atwood continuing to be potentially the biggest disappointment of my lifetime.
I'm getting especially tired of this whole 'trans people are people' nonsense they keep bandying around. They must surely know their arguments are absolute bollocks to have to spout emotive falsehoods to garner any support. Nobody has said trans people aren't people. Nobody has said trans people don't deserve human rights. If this was a high school debate, they'd lose. So why is it taken seriously by adults??

Whatever about the Tampax stuff (still bad), my jaw is still on the floor over Sands UK and "birthing parents". This is absolutely astonishing. All because some narcissist twits who refer to themselves as "zir" or whatever think that they'll be invalidated because of the use of the word mother.

Also, birthing parent just refers to the act of giving birth but what about the strain that womens bodies undergo before, during and after labour? In the 9 months before? I'm honestly still in disbelief over this. The Sands UK misstep is probably one of the worst things I've seen in this whole gender farce

I think we are going to see more of these PR moves because social media jobs are by large taken by young people who adapt PR reponses and campaigns to match the social media thinking. This is why period product companies are falling over themselves to conform, etc.

In all I can understand saying 'mothers, fathers and birthing partners and non-birthing partners' or 'women and transwomen' because I do acknowledge we all exist , but I am not accepting the use of one all encompassing clinical term. 'Birthing partner' to me, sounds to me like a baby machine, not a human. Same applies to 'cervix haver', 'penis haver'. We are not a commodity or device.

The lack of empathy shown towards Keira Bell in some circles is astounding- this is someone who was let down by the system she was depending on. She might have won but she will have to live with the changes made to her body for the rest of her life.
Agreed. I can’t even read the comments on Facebook, they’re awful. Most people commenting on there haven’t even bothered to even try to understand the situation. They just see she was an adult when she had her mastectomy and switch off, failing to see the wider picture of this court case and how important it is to the safeguarding of children.

Also a lot of people seem ignorant to the process think that she has won lots of money as a result of this case. Much like when a woman reports a rape against a bloke who happens to be famous and people start calling her a gold digger. Misogyny is a hell of a drug and takes many forms.

No. Which is a shame because I really did come on here looking for a discussion. There don't seem to be many places to discuss viewpoints that fall anywhere between 'trans women are men who want to threaten our identity and hurt us' and 'if you're even the slightest bit gender non-conforming you should get on hormones straight away' and the polarisation doesn't help anyone (hey, it's almost as though binary viewpoints are bad news ;)). I guess I'm going to have to finally sign up for a bloody Reddit account so I can join r/truscum, as though I don't already waste enough time on the internet.
I don't see it as "trans women are men who want to threaten our identity and hurt us" but fair enough, my problem is that you seem to want to conflate dysphoric individuals with others who adopt the trans label and seperate them when it suits you. thought the article showing 26 dead trans people and all black trans women I thought was interesting in the way data and information can be interpreted a different way dead trans women vs dead black people. Nice to not have someone from an opposing view point shout here for a change. I'll also stick to my view since you haven't provided any articles contradicting the numerous articles you were shown here.

We have a ten year old at school who, all the time I have known him, I would lay money on being gay. I honestly don’t think there is any more to it than that, but he obviously doesn’t know how to express sexuality yet. But, I am actually quite fearful for him given the amount of voices he will have whispering in his ear about what he supposedly really is. He’s very easily influenced, especially by the girls with more strong personalities in his class, and of course they’re all raised on a diet of unfiltered YouTube, TikTok and Instagram.

I would absolutely hate for him to be led down the transgender path for transetter points by his peers. Let him get to 18 and make up his own mind. He’s a gorgeous kid, a bit naughty and dramatic but you cant help but love him. I just feel sad he’s more than likely going to end up more mixed up than he would have been say, 10 years ago, because of this added element of gender fluidity being pushed as an “answer” to why he’s simply gay.

Yeah, get those boys on puberty blockers as young as possible. Never mind the micropenis, gotta keep their faces as childlike as possible so they have a hope of passing as female!

Besides, even boys that start blockers and hormones young (like Jazz Jennings) still look essentially masculine. When every cell in the body is coded as male, it’s damn hard to stop the entire body growing as its supposed to grow.
Just want to say, I saw how you were treated on the Jack Monroe thread and was appalled. For a group that loves to pat itself on its back about how moral and kind they are, they sure like to aggressively crush those who dissent from their popular opinions. You were brave for speaking up!

Regardless of anyone's opinion on gender, Jack Monroe is a chronic liar, label-collector and attention seeker. Why should her low-effort non-binary claims be treated differently than any of her other bullshit? She got what she wanted out of it, which is a label, an oppressed status, and column inches.

I refuse to bow to self important twats who literally write “its not blah blah blah its blah” moderating language when the original use was fine, just because it offends their own narrow world view.

Fuck offfffff.
Exactly. Got into an argument about the word cis. I was told it's not a slur, it just means non trans. I replied that there's already a perfectly good word to describe non trans women and it's women

Im sorry but I can never see a person with a penis as a woman. Call me transphobic all you want, but if i can tell someone is a man and they are in the female bathroom (for example) i will feel scared, as will many a woman, and we matter too.
Nothing to be sorry about. Men aren't women and it's absurd that this is even up for debate

I'm sorry I spoke out of ignorance there, of course I don't know how intersex people are treated in society. I'm sorry for that, and so grateful that we have you to bring that perspective to these threads. ❤ It sucks that you get that kind of ignorant reaction, and the that other intersex people get that kind of reception too. That's completely unacceptable 😠
Thank you. It's fine. There aren't very many of us intersex people around to share our experiences. It seems like a myth that we have it easy and so often trans people want to claim they are intersex when they're not (although you absolutely can be both) but many of us get prickly about it because we have a very different view of how green the grass is on our side of the fence.

I saw this on Twitter earlier. Some treatments can weaken your bones to the point of fatality... Why would you do that to your body?! This is exactly why impressionable teens should not be allowed onto such medical pathways so easily!

I'm horrified at how dangerous this sounds for the body!

Is this true?

View attachment 269822
I have no idea if this is true or not. However, it really struck me earlier that there seems to be a lot of back and forth about the potential side effects of these drugs. Some saying they will make you infertile, others deny that. Some saying it makes an individual unable to orgasm, others saying that's not true. To me, the fact that experts cannot agree on the side effects in court means these things should be NOWHERE near children. If a fully competent adult wants to take that risk for themselves, I don't understand it, but that's up to them. How the hell can a child be expected to consent to that?!

We can agree with some people and not endorse every single other view they have. I find the 'right wing' figures speak the most sense on this subject, I still vehemently disagree with some other things they say though.

And I also think that some 'left wing' figures use this as a weapon- "oh you agree with x person, did you know that they also have xyz beliefs". Just divisive nonsense

I’m personally not a big fan of drag, I find it rather misogynistic, but each to their own. However, it’s adult entertainment surely? It’s very sexual, raunchy, “bitchy”. When did it become appropriate for children to be exposed to that? For drag to be the pinnacle of gay culture?

Stonewall is nothing to do with British "LGBT" history. In England we had famous models that were transgender - Amanda Lear, April Ashley, Caroline Cossey, etc. AND we legalised homosexual sex in 1967. yes 1967. The yanks love to fucking subdue our separate history and push theirs into the mainstream as complete narrative fact.

I have no problem with people being LGBT, BUT... i have an issue with all the attention whores, and minimal effort pervy transgender people and the LGBT as a "community". Some people are obviously transgender or intersex. I personally think a VAST majority of them in todays world are not.

30 years ago the NHS helped around 4 people a year transition and most had known they felt wrong since childhood and HAD intersex hormone or chromosome issues...
Now it is like fucking 100 people a month that just feel "like a man" or "like a woman"

I know all this because I personally thought I was transgender and realised it was actually just because i didn't conform to gender based stuff and was a loner for a bit. Sorted it out, did some self help and really changed my life - i didn't feel "dysphoric" anymore and THANK FUCK i didn't do anything to my body.
It's a sham. to borrow and change something Johnny Rotten used to say... "The great ****** swindle" (the great rock and roll swindle)
And if you know anyone that feels they are transgender tell them to get hormone levels tested as low levels of whatever can cause dysphoria...

Also - people should wear and let their kids wear what they'd like. Clothing means nothing and if you stop a child from dressing how they want they might even manifest "dysphoria" or be told by others they have "dysphoria"

Part of mine was the fact I didn't do things I wanted because it was associated with another gender and it made me feel "dysphoric"

Now i do what the fuck i want and feel fine pretty much. I do want answers though - it felt like brainwashing

This is a thread about gender issues. If an elderly woman asks to be cared for by a female carer (actual female, not a trans person), she shouldn't be told that trans women are women and she's a bigot. An elderly lady will most likely feel more comfortable with a woman for intimate care. An elderly lady is entitled to feel dignity and have her needs put first.

Race is different altogether. Are you trying to illustrate that someone demanding a white carer is the same as an elderly lady demanding a woman and not a trans identified person? Well you're wrong, they're not the same

It’s utterly ridiculous , trying so hard to be inclusive it excludes the very people it exists for .
Especially disgusting considering it has been recently acknowledged that number of women going for smears has dropped :(

Edit - sorry posting again and it has merged my posts.

It feels like in bending over backwards to pander to feelings we won’t be allowed to refer to ourselves as women within a couple of years. I am not a trans man or a trans woman , or a man, so what am I? What am I ‘allowed’ to call myself? It upsets me that some men don’t understand and so probably can’t understand what the fuss is when we speak up, but what upsets me more is women clapping back at other women telling them they are transphobic... I am seeing it practically every day online now, why are so many women on social media complicit in shaping media perception, NHS, PR etc into gaslighting women?

That's interesting, I didn't know that. I had assumed that precocious puberty was treated with blockers for mainly psychological reasons.

The Tavistock is facing accusations of child abuse from one side and transphobic gatekeeping from another. It's an unenviable position.
Lots of people think that because it is presented as such, usually with emotive language.

I think the misconceptions raise interesting points about our attitude to healthcare. I’ve seen tweets etc. Saying the ruling is denying children lifesaving treatment. The NHS resources are finite and squandering them on unproven hormone treatment then treating the lifelong fallout may very well deny children life saving treatment. Money and time spent on this is money and time not spent elsewhere.

I also note that Susie Green says no other group are subject to this sort of process before getting treatment and so it must be transphobia. This is shocking misinformation. All treatment is subject to tough rules and so it should be.

Every medical intervention provided by the NHS/registered healthcare professionals is bound to process. The process does not care about the identity of the person at the end (that’s a separate discussion - where should the patient identity feature and how.)

The reason these patients now have to apply to the courts is not because they’re trans. It’s because puberty blockers and cross sex hormones have not passed the threshold of risk vs benefit and consenting to this would be difficult if you were an adult. Children cannot grasp the complexities. How can someone make a decision for a future self who does not exist yet?

I infer from the judgement that Tavistock have not been able to objectively outline the risk/benefit which makes consenting young people almost impossible. The courts have not said no. They have acknowledged the difficulty but left open the possibility to assess on a case by case basis.

Note that a teenager with cancer would be allowed to consent to chemo or surgery. The process would be very careful and parents would likely be involved. But the understanding is that most people would like the chance to live. The purpose of healthcare is to extend life and make it as active and productive as possible. The aim then would be to make sure the young person is as informed as possible of the risks vs benefits.

If the average person could not state the evidence for a given intervention clearly, that would be ok. But these are doctors. To pass the many exams they have had to repeatedly demonstrate they are able to collate data, interpret it, share it with peers, act on it. That the doctors in this case failed to do that isn’t the fault of gender critical transphobes. They cannot have suddenly lost the ability to weigh evidence, surely? All of them?

They were even given the chance to go away and sort their affairs out and return with the data. They declined. If anyone believes the court then should have said “Oh great, we can see you are very capable and clear eyed”, they’re deluded. It would set a dangerous precedent and contradict the foundation of modern medicine. I cannot believe anyone thinks this would be wise. Oversight is never a bad thing.

Here is an analogy. One person prepares thoroughly for an exam and goes in, performs well and gets an A. Her peer may or may not have prepared but turns up and says they’ve forgotten their pen. They are given the option to borrow a pen but they say no thanks. They’ll just sit in the room. They should be graded with an A though. They did prepare well, they just didn’t care to demonstrate it.

If we begin to just take everyone’s word for everything based on the idea that if we don’tit’s very mean, we lose an essential framework which we rely on for actual lifesaving treatment. The impact of that is everyone’s business. It is not about depriving trans people of care. It is about ensuring their care meets the same standards of all other care.

It is actually barbaric to feed this idea that trans people are so removed from the average person, so other and weak and delicate. They’re people. Like you’re a person and I’m a person. They need respect, kindness, understanding, not OTT campaigns filled with generalised ideas of suicide.

No adult should repeatedly state that being trans is the worst thing in the world and life threatening. If they didn’t feel shit before they’ll certainly start to.
