You compared my beliefs to 'a level akin to someone that believes some grass is blue and some sky is green'. I took that to mean that you had no interested in a respectful debate, thus making the discussion pointless. I'm sorry if I misinterpreted that.We are very much aware that transgender people exist. We wouldn’t have such a long running thread on something that doesn’t exist.
If by that you mean we don’t believe that some men have vaginas and some women have penises, you’re right, we don’t. I personally find it pointless to debate with someone that does believe that, but I’m willing to try. The reason I asked the question was to understand what sort of level any debate would be at. Your reply answered that.
I’d like you to stay. I am interested in having such discussion and it’s always interesting to hear from those “on the other side”. You haven’t been rude, aggressive or insulting from what I’ve seen so, hand on heart, don’t feel as though you are not welcome on this thread. But I do think that the “it’s pointless” comment is a bit of an easy get-out IMO.
As far as gender norms go for colours, pink is fine if boys like it but encouraging them to dress a whole outfit like a typical girl at that sort of age is almost guaranteeing them being picked on, in my view. 8 year olds can be ruthless with one another. So Emma Willis shared a photo of her son on IG... when I saw people say she shared a photo of their I spent ages looking at the photo wondering where he was and then realised he is in the pink... He is 8 years old or so. WTF. I am sorry but I think it is awful for parents to almost "encourage" this behavior when a child is so young and absorbs stuff like a sponge. The way things are going and children are being groomed to be trans/non binary, I would be horrified if my child was like this at that age.
People make claims on this thread a lot with no citations, its an online forum for discussion, not a published academic paper. I haven't seen others called out so robustly so it sort of does seem like you are "having a go" at me to be perfectly honest.See you may very well have read this and will be coming back any moment with the figures, but the problem is if you don't, you've created a situation where people reading this thread will think 'oh yeah, I read somewhere that 59% of transwomen are assaulted in prison' when it's based off you also saying 'I do remember reading...'
It's a load of supposition. We shouldn't be posting any stats without links. Ok, we do it all the time - it's not specifically having a go at you. But it creates memories of stats that may or may not be true.
