Thank you for that. I'm getting a bit tired of the "you just hate trans people" narrative. Earlier today on another thread I post on, out of nowhere a poster went off on one about how gender critical feminists are using feminism to hide their 'anti trans' views and how gender critical feminists have 'odious' views. Another poster said the JK Rowling thread should be classed as hate speech as it's openly transphobic.

What even is transphobic? It's a meaningless description in most cases as its just not true. Is not accepting that self identified trans folk are women transphobic? Is being worried about the rise of kids being told they're trans and born in the wrong body transphobic?

I've said it I don't know how many times but this ideology is dangerous to women, children and genuine trans people.

Does anyone else read this thread and in their head say "yes!!!' "you go girl!!!" at people's posts? I love having this safe space to hear all your thoughts 🖤

I personally don't like cis because I don't need an extra word - I am what I was born, a female human. I don't see why people who are what they were born need extra wording - to me it makes sense for those who have changed e.g transwoman. Also... How often do we hear "cis man" 🙄 as always, women are the bottom of the pecking order. We even come second to "women" with penises.

I'm sorry but honestly if your female biology disgusts you that much that you want to exclude the word mother for everyone in the world what in the name of fresh hell are you doing giving birth?

The more I think about that image, the more angry I get. "Genitalia fetish?" Why do they try to put a distasteful spin on something as normal as sexual attraction? I don't have a genitalia fetish, but I am attracted to men. That doesn't mean I'm thinking of cock 24/7, it just means I fancy men and that doesn't just include their "genitalia", it's their smell. You can't deny or argue attraction and you shouldn't try to make it into something shameful to further your own agenda

I wish men that are transitioning to woman would realise that actual women are still fighting for equality and dont have time to pander to them.

Women are shamed no matter how we look and 1/3 of us have been sexually abused or assaulted. Again it’s such a male bullshit notion of imaginary female privilege.
Anyone who disagrees with this, just read the totally unrelated threads on here, “sexist things you get told on a daily basis” and the even more disturbing “what’s the creepiest or scariest thing that’s ever happened to you?”. The latter basically being over 400 accounts of largely unreported, socially accepted and brushed off abuse and intimidation of everyday women. Real life women who regularly post here and have very different lives and backgrounds.

How is cis derogatory?
It’s on “othering” term. It’s purile, linguistic dance designed to erode the ownership of identity of “women/woman” solely for adult, human females to now become an umbrella term for anyone who wants to claim it. I don’t want transwomen sharing my identity because it has ramifications on necessary, legal protections afforded to me as a woman because of physical and historical disadvantages.

Why are trans identities more important than non-trans ones?

People like you are more concerned with hurting a trans persons feelings than the feelings of an 80 year old woman who feels vulnerable by an obvious male.
What I don't understand and have never received a satisfactory answer to is why, when there are conflicting serious views on this topic, people on that side think theirs must trump everyone else? I don't mind that some people think they're happy to share private spaces with trans people, genuinely good for you, you're entitled to that view. But I don't, I don't consent to it, and I'm entitled to mine, too. So why, in arbitrating these differing views, do these people think their view coming out on top must be the only answer? I'm not telling anyone 'you can't share a space with trans people' I'm simply asking you don't make me do it too. And I'm sorry, but if you think forcing your opinion on people who disagree and forcing a way of life on women who don't consent is perfectly fine, that makes you the bigot.

Imagine being the kind of person who is outraged that they cannot examine a rape victim who has undoubtedly just had the worst experience of their life, and I speak from experience here 😡 honestly it's shocking. Do they not realise how utterly ridiculous they sound? The entitlement to think their delusions comes before a rape victim. Wow.

Schofield was an absolute dick to her on This Morning
He's awful generally too .awful man.
Finally a grown up has entered the chat!!!

Asked if some members of the trans community may feel excluded, he said: "I think that some certainly will, but it's virtually impossible to keep everybody happy.

"But the important thing, as I say, to try and maximise the screening for the prevention of cancer - and in that context the use of the word 'woman' is the most appropriate".

🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
I like this point:

"He said use of the word 'person' is "confusing": "There are a lot of people for example who might not understand what a cervix is, but they do understand what a woman is."

Exactly, keeping the word woman on the screening literature and invites would remind people who use English as a second language and will more likely realise this is an appointment they need to attend for their health. Whereas cervix might not be as recognisable. When you learn a new language you learn man or woman or girl and boy but not necessarily the medical names for all your innards. It's important to have scientific clarity here.

Of course it wasn't long before a handmaiden jumped in to school everyone
If transwomen weren’t born Male, what were they born as? Aliens? Because they’re certainly not female! I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, biology doesn’t give a shit about gender identity. Sad that people who are supposedly smart and well educated will blindly spout such nonsense with a straight face.

Somehow I don’t think little girls in Africa being mutilated give a hot shiny shit about their gender identity. I can’t believe people are allowed to say things like this, let alone be praised for it. It’s disgusting.

Whatever about the Tampax stuff (still bad), my jaw is still on the floor over Sands UK and "birthing parents". This is absolutely astonishing. All because some narcissist twits who refer to themselves as "zir" or whatever think that they'll be invalidated because of the use of the word mother.

Also, birthing parent just refers to the act of giving birth but what about the strain that womens bodies undergo before, during and after labour? In the 9 months before? I'm honestly still in disbelief over this. The Sands UK misstep is probably one of the worst things I've seen in this whole gender farce
The comments from women who have lost their babies saying that now their right to be called a mother is being taken away too broke my heart

Soooooo.... I have an upcoming assessment thing (can’t triangulate too much!) but to gain full marks, not just some, I have to use my pronouns when I introduce myself. If I don’t, I’ve just met ‘some competency’. I’ve just emailed someone and said I feel really uncomfortable doing this and don’t feel that I should be penalised marks wise for not wanting to. I said I don’t feel comfortable stating my sex any more than my sexuality or religion and shouldn’t be forced to. No reply yet but how can they deduct marks because I won’t use pronouns? Imagine if they made you state your sexual orientation! I’m quite upset. I said I can see why it’s been encouraged (I don’t agree with it!) and of course with the person I was talking to I would check how they like to be referred to but I don’t want to and shouldn’t be made to. Where is my choice about it?

This always boils down to men can't behave, so "put them [transwomen] in with the weaker ones". Women do not exist to provide a buffer against men for other men.

Ugh, so much virtue signalling from tampax.

Also, a period isn't strictly speaking just blood right? It's the shedding of the uterine walls. Who has a uterus? Not just 'people' but a certain type of person who is biologically female.

Exactly. I remember when JK shared her essay someone I know tweeted "I'm a survivor of DV and have no problem sharing my space with trans people, this woman doesn't speak for me". By the same token do you not realise *you* don't speak for everyone!

Sorry to interupt your discussion ladies! But this sends a shiver down my spine and stops me from being able to use such facilities. I can't even tell you the anxiety I felt in my chest reading that post. Why should I - a survivor of rape and domestic violence have to come face to face with someone's flacid penis somewhere I would naturally consider to be a female only safe space for me to get changed. My rape support advocate never prepared me for this shit 😢

Thought you might like to hear from someone who genuinley would not be able to emotionally handle that situation.
Thank you for this perspective. Honestly, it drives me up the wall when women are willing to sign away rights and our hard won spaces because "well it doesn't bother me"
