I’ve actually seen this argument several times lately - “after middle age/menopause women lose their feminine appearance and look more like men!” OK, they might lose superficially feminine features (full lips, smooth skin, etc) but they still have the appearance and bone structure of a woman, no this is not a reason why we should let TIMs into women’s toilets, try again
Yeah I have never mistaken an elderly women for a man.... ever... short hair or not 🙄🙄

Quite a few of the trans men I’ve seen on social media do really pass as men, I think it’s the power of testosterone. I don’t think Elliot Page has taken it because she looks the same as she did, minus her breasts. Frail, tiny, dare I say it - a feminine face. It’s really beyond belief that the world is supposed to look at this person we’ve all known as a woman and just be like yeah, that’s a dude 😂 it’s insane. I can understand some (non celebs) can go stealth so to speak and live their lives as men (as opposed to ‘trans’). I actually have more respect for those living this way as it seems like that is what the point of the whole transition was for - to live as a man. Not bang on about being trans their whole lives and flying flags.
---
But with trans women, I have said it before but I can always, always tell. Even if they are gorgeous and somewhat ‘pass’. I’m not saying this to be unkind. It’s just a fact. It must be something in built in me as a woman. I just know.
I agree. TW never pass. They might look ok heavily filtered or in photos but IRL or when they open their mouths no.

SEEN is trying to fight back against the capture of the civil service and any civil servant can join the network.
Damn I thought I could join that but it says local government is excluded and its civil service only.

The whole concept of safeguarding in this area protects vulnerable from potential predators - the idea that it’s good to keep a nasty AGP out of women’s loos but allow the lovely TIM in just undermines everything.

Posters have commented about our harsh tone when replying to some pro-trans comments but I just despair that women can be in such thrall to this belief system and our patriarchal society that you will happily throw over a hundred years of women’s rights out the window.

You can 99% tell someone is a TIF:

Very short for a man
Very small feet for a man
Very small frame for a man
The classic high pitched ‘man’ voice
A gender neutral name- they’re never Jim or Roger. It’s one syllable, with X and Z if poss
A prematurely receding hairline with a man’s haircut (no long hair for TIFs, never cross the gender stereotype boundary with your hair!)
Ultra flat chest, like even actual men have shape around the pecs
No brow bone like a mini Neanderthal
No adams apple
Dresses only in men’s clothing, strictly stereotyped

People may believe that they pass but it’s more likely they’re talking behind that person’s back. ‘Jax/Tan/Mig/Tye is only 22 but he has a very unfortunate hairline! Could he be…?? Is he a…???’ That kind of thing.

There’s a couple of potential TIFs in my social periphery and I am really not sure if they are men or women. Either way, they aren’t a threat to me so live and let live.
The only TIMs I’ve seen who pass are Janet Mock and the make up person Nikki? And I’ve not seen them in RL of course.
This idea of hordes of really feminine looking female passing TIMs is just pure fantasy I am afraid.

Yep, I spotted one in about 3 seconds on a The Dodo video about an abandoned kitten on Facebook yesterday - overweight, tattoos, receding hairline, no Adam’s Apple, little beard. Also the maternal way they held the little kitty and burst into tears (I know! Generalising about the way people act! But most men don’t cry as often as we do).

Trans ideology is presented on SM with so much #bekind, rainbows, sparkles and unicorns - it must be such a cold, hard shock to the system to be hit with reality, facts and robust debate either on Gender thread or in discussion with angry terfs.
Good.

Post menopause I have fuller hips than before and much bigger boobs. I might have aged facially but my body is the most ‘womanly’ it’s ever been. Personality wise however, I’m much less compliant, more likely to speak my mind and refuse to put up with other people’s tit just for a quiet life so perhaps I’m a bloke after all 🤔

Exactly this. And hard fought rights, they were.

I sometimes despair, tbh, and wonder how things came to this pass. Although the threads here do help, and they keep me hopeful that some day this unutterable madness will be seen for what it is.

Nikkie is over 6 feet and built like a brick tit house. The make up is also massively feminising. In real life you’d clock it in a second.

They pass on social media because they can practice their angles and they aren't around other men.

I have seen a few tiktoks where it has taken me a couple fight watches to realise, but they are normally sat down or doing that weird bend in half to talk to the camera.

As soon as you see them "in the wild" they are obviously transgender. As another poster stated, it's the height, weak facial hair, soft jaw, hands!, lack of an Adams apple, the hips/waist. It's so obvious.

One of my favourite of Magdalen Berns' videos was where she discussed a documentary about a woman who works as a style/image consultant for TIMs, this person said almost all her clients want to wear very short, tight, revealing, sparkly, pink, etc. clothes and she tries to dress them a bit more normally. Wonder if there's a niche in the market for someone to talk the TIFs out of the undercut and ear gauges ...

A TIF would never step away from the clichéd appearance. I forgot the tattoos, always on forearms as it’s more ‘masculine’ I assume?! 🤦🏻‍♀️ Those massive owl glasses with transparent frames are more a NB look aren’t they? I do have some but my hair is past my shoulder so I can’t possible be anything BUT a woman. It’s like you take an androgynous look and turn it up to volume 5 with some fluffy facial hair and the stomach protrudes further than chest area due to extreme flatness.
I’m saying all this with a witchy tone but I actually find it so sad. These women could have just been androgynous looking lesbians. Plenty of drop dead gorgeous ones around. Those who can, do, those who can’t… take T and grow patchy bum fluff?

I find it hard to believe that any trans people genuinely ‘pass’ in real life. Maybe for a very brief exchange, but as soon as there’s an interaction, it becomes obvious. I think many of them would be misinterpreting people’s silence as ‘passing’.
