There were girls from my school that had relationships with teachers and it was not frowned upon the way that it is today, this would have been in the 80's.
Myself, I became involved at 17 with a man who was twice my age. At the time I thought it was exciting but now that I have a daughter that age I see things very differently and I would not approve at all.

Mid 1980s was when home VCRs started becoming a household item in this country, I think. Probably no more need for Polaroids when blank tapes became readily available.
The fact the writer here wants us to believe this man's desire to wear women like a costume makes him less misogynistic is astounding.

More than one male teacher at my school had relationships with female students who were over 16 but under 18, before that was made illegal. These weren’t good-looking 25 year old teachers with the more experienced girls either so you could think perhaps it would be someone they would meet otherwise (for what that might be worth) these were weird, smell, socially-inept middle-aged wrong ‘uns going after some of the more immature teenagers a lot of the time. No doubt in my mind it was why some of them did the job.
Yet they insist that the GC “movement” is hateful. However, they are the ones that threaten violence, are abusive, shout down anyone who disagrees. They are incapable of any from of rational debate and bully people with opposing views with threats. I suspect it’s because they actually haven’t got any real answers to back up their views.

The full page ad / true crime sensationalising is a different discussion but this is not the transphobic angle they believe it to be.

What else are they gonna call it when the defendants can't be named for legal reasons?
In any event, I always think it's better to focus on the victims of crimes rather than give the killers notoriety.
These are good podcasts by the way, for anyone interested in the way the UK court system works. They by their nature have to be unbiased and not speculative as they're reporting from court and could easily be in contempt otherwise.
Yes I listened to it for both Lucy Letby and Ashling Murphy. It’s particularly useful if you can’t keep up with live reporting.
And you’re right, there is often calls to not focus on the defendants and give them the notoriety even if their names are known. Letby had 17 victims so even if they could have been named, it was never going to work and would always have been her name.
And if they hadn’t have used her name and image they would have said they are trying to erase Brianna and it’s transphobic. Cant win.
From what I’ve seen of the court evidence, the “alleged killers” called Brianna she/her 99% of the time. If they were hugely transphobic, they wouldn’t have done that.

I'm a tall woman and I often note in photos that I have a big melon head. I also have quite big hands and feet. But I'd look an elegant wallflower next to this dude.

In my school it was the teachers that all the girls fancied, I suppose you could say they were good looking although they weren't my cup of tea.
I said I wouldn’t keep mentioning Brianna but it just keeps getting worse the more I read. It’s maybe not appropriate since this poor soul was murdered so please call me out if I’m in the wrong. This child was very troubled and there should be a discussion about how kids like this get swept up in the cult of trans. Eating disorder, severe anxiety, self harm, excluded from school. Projecting all of that onto being born male and thinking it can be fixed by wearing a costume. The poor bairn probably did feel better with full makeup and cute outfit because it was covering up the person he couldn’t bear to be. It doesn’t fix what was wrong inside though. Brianna’s poor mum has worked hard campaigning for better mental health support in schools, I saw a news film about her and she didn’t mention trans once, she’s obviously switched on and I hope she isn’t getting harassed at all by the TRAs.
