The difference actually comes down to the fact here that I don't feel like I have talked about men, in my world view I am talking about transgender women (which may I point out I never call them women, always transgender women) because the way you guys see the world is that they are men in dresses. You come at me with the #notallmen shut down. I don't see genuine transgender women as men.

Maybe the answer to everyone's fears in most instances is the access of a those third spaces for transgender people. I don't know how badly that would go down, I am sure you would tell me they would hate it and protest it, but I think they have to understand safety and allowances for people who don't want to share with them. I guess where I am from I am so used to unisex toilets, every restaurant or bar pretty much is unisex in my neck of the woods.

Which says that this space is not what I thought it was when I entered admittedly. I really thought it was a gender discussion thread, you should change the name to gender critical discussion, because if there is no scope for anyone with differing views to enter it seems a bit misleading.

I will say that many of you guys rely on phrases like 'they always do this', 'they always think this', 'they're doing it again' and it seems you are sitting there waiting for trans people to duck up so you can put them in a box and stereotype them one way to disintegrate.

Anyway! Thank you guys, I will actually go now. Wew! As stressy and heated as these places come, I actually enjoyed learning and finding out a lot more from here. I don't ever have conversations like this in real life at all so its been a nice education thats pushed me onto other videos and places of interest.

Have a fantastic Christmas! I actually really appreciate this, zero sarcasm or anything. Typing it a hard one to avoid that.

Do you know who "always does this"???

People like you trolling or simply unable to discuss......"they always say XYZ and then poof they are offski"

Bring back the Irish Doctor i say!!!

“Women are intimidated by their universities,” she says. “They’re told that they will never get into graduate school, that they will never get a job. The women are emotionally blackmailed, told that if trans athletes emotionally harm themselves after someone speaking out, then they are solely responsible. It’s a lot to put on 18- to 22-year-olds.”

A basic premise of safeguarding is that you take account of what could happen and do all you can to prevent it. Therefore, women need safe spaces.

I don't care if they are nice men or kind men or would never hurt a fly. Some would so they can all get out. And that should be the end of that.
Indeed.

When women were originally given our own spaces, there was no suggestion that it was all men that were the issue, but it was acknowledged that some are. Absolutely nothing has changed.

Transwomen don’t want a third space. They think this idea is transphobic.

Look at these men wearing little girls clothes. Look at these men with humongous prosthetic breasts. Look at these men masturbating in women’s bathrooms. There are hundreds of examples here:

How are we supposed to make the difference between genuine transwomen and AGPs? All of them say they are trans.

And what about sport?

The discussion we are having with you has already occurred so many times here.Once or twice a month someone comes here with exactly the same arguments.

Exactly, I cannot even believe we are still arguing about this "not all men" thing. Regardless of that, what is very clear, is the issue is that the majority of men do sit back and do nothing, don't call out sexist "jokes" or behaviour, a stark example being the police colleagues of Sarah Everard murderer. Sorry for the OT it just really annoys me

I think the Wayne Couzens/Sarah Everard comparison is a good one.

Remember the outrage at the police, and the "you can't tar all police with the same brush!" reply, and the liberal feminists asking (rightly for a change) how are we supposed to tell the difference between the Wayne Couzenses and the nice coppers? They all just look like police officers to us.

I'm really baffled as to why they can't apply this logic to this debate. I don't think all transgender people are predators any more than I think all police officers are, but they're both scenarios which can be used by predators to gain access to their victims. For me, the number of women I'll accept as collateral damage in the pursuit of being nice and not offending the ones who don't have bad intentions is zero.

Apparently though, for the TWAW Self ID brigade there is an acceptable number of women and girls they'll risk for the sake of ideology.

I'm happy to go so, thank you for having me. I wish you all the best btw and really appreciate hearing everything you've had to say! I just don't want anyone in here thinking I'm winding you up, I'm not, I just have been on a journey since my friend's friend came out and it spiked a path of knowledge seeking. So if I am getting you all angry its not the point of this truly.
Feel free to stay, we are not the side of 'no debate' we are (mostly) women and girls and despite what the TRA's on twitter say, we are not all right wing nazi's propped up by dodgy religious groups in the US. Some of us are conservative (Im left leaning, Labour voter although feel quite politically homeless) but I can clearly see this, being gender critical or a 'TERF' is a bi-partisan position.

Why would one need to unlearn something like this if they always have been the opposite sex inside?

All they have is reductive stereotypes of us. It's offensive and embarassing.
Oh my god
I don’t flutter my eyes 👀
Any anyone

I don’t hug and generally nod and or wave

Never realised I was a dude

I'm older than many of the posters here, and I guess that's why my experience is different to theirs. I assume that the internet has played a large part in things because I can tell you now that not one single person that I know, who is in my age group, honestly thinks that TWAW. We never have, and we never will. The concept to us, is literally laughable. We have all known cross-dressers, we have seen them in real life, we've seen them in the media, we had sympathy and understanding, but as they weren't muscling-in on our spaces, we weren't bothered by them. (I once watched a daytime show which featured cross-dressing men and their wives, and I can remember feeling intensely sorry for the poor spouses, none of whom looked particularly joyful at the prospect of sharing a wardrobe with their husband and his fetish for the rest of their married lives).

Trans "women" these days, are a whole different breed. They're not happy with wearing a dress and make-up, they want the full woman "experience", whatever that is supposed to be. Obviously, they don't want lower pay, the bulk of household chores and childcare, and sub-standard healthcare. They do however, want to compete (and win) in women's competitive sport, they want to undress in front of actual women and girls, they want to be considered for women's sex-protected job roles, they want to menstruate, give birth and breastfeed (they don't actually want to do the icky stuff of course, but they do like to talk about it in women's groups)

Us old terfs really don't have a problem with cross-dressers. We honestly don't. But what is peaking women like me, is hearing about lesbians being abused and insulted for not wanting to have sex with men. Or seeing a 6ft tall man in a women's swim team. Or reading about SA victims, being expected to share a supposed "safe space" with men. Or knowing that women have been grape by a man, whilst serving time in a women's prison.

You can offer all of the excuses that you like, but something is not right. And it's not women, terfs or otherwise, that are the problem.
I'm an "oldie" and feel exactly the same. I wish social media had never seen the light of day, it does more harm than good.

I don't wear make up or heels, I'm definitely a man apparently.
I can't really apply makeup though, does that make me an amazing woman to praise on Instagram? 😅

@freaknasty ditto my mum, I have posted about her experiences before but it is just obious that older women just understand what we have (in a very difficult way) won, because they did it. Arguing over pronouns is insane when you view it in the contrast of marital grape not being a crime (just to give one example)

Another oldie here, who doesn't flutter her eyes, wear make up or high heels. How have I managed to get to this age without realising that I, too, am a man!

Oh god pals - I also don’t wear make up, high heels or dresses!! I’ve been wearing baggy clothes and trainers for years now. I wish someone would have told me sooner that I’m a man!! F*** I have short hair too! How could I not have known? It seems so obvious now!

Where can I score some T?

I’m so confused. I went out in walking trousers and a sweatshirt, walking boots and no make up this morning. Came home, showered, did my hair and make up and put a dress on. Am I a man or a woman?
