Surely Canada has plenty to be dealing with rather than this!

100% agree. As a bi woman, I am so, so sick of being lumped in with trans people - regardless of your stance on transgender issues, it's not the same! LGB are sexualities, T is not. We're not all some kind of homogenous community in the first place, never mind adding on various letters to add in yet another "marginalised group".You can't' feel' like the opposite sex. Sex is immutable.
Why are you prioritising trans identified men over biological women? Why should les biological women have to share with trans identified men in some LGBT wing?
What is black and white is that you cannot change your sex. Trans identified males are not and never will be women. As such they are not a women issue. You can't just write off trans suicide attempts by saying there is no real evidence, from reading there definitely is. I am not trolling or a man that gave me a chuckle ngl, I think if you read my posts I'm a lot more understanding than you probably are giving me credit for. I'm just not bowing down to this idea that all trans persons have to suffer because men are bad. I'm not what I've read in earlier threads of here being 'green haired militant activists'. I fell into this thread because of another and only began trying to educate myself as I said previously when a friend of a friend transitioned later in life.
If you guys want me to leave I will too, I'm happy to leave you all to believe and be happy with where you are at. I was just trying to educate myself and in turn bring another perspective.
What a strange post.......I think everyone was friendly and accomodating to you, so why do you feel the need to leave? I think you have misinterpreted the responses!!!I'm happy to go so, thank you for having me. I wish you all the best btw and really appreciate hearing everything you've had to say! I just don't want anyone in here thinking I'm winding you up, I'm not, I just have been on a journey since my friend's friend came out and it spiked a path of knowledge seeking. So if I am getting you all angry its not the point of this truly.
Spot on. They are thoroughly predictable, even down to the emotive language and the way they word things. How long until we get the next member of the 'be kind, it's so complicated, trans women are women' brigade. Bingo points for:
They have as child who is trans and they have known since they were 6 weeks old.
They work as a counsellor and in the past year have counselled 180,000 trans people, all of whom have been suicidal and all of whom are no threat to women at all.
Their best friend is trans and they are clinically depressed. This is the fault of women.
They think that cis women are very, very bigoted and that drag is wonderful, it's a celebration of womanhood.
They think pronouns are the difference between life and death.
When asked about the dehumanising of women and the very real threat of men in women's spaces, just keep repeating the same tired mantra 'NOT ALL TRANS PEOPLE ARE A THREAT.'
They flounce when they realise we're just a bunch of large, hairy terfs who can't see the beauty of Wayne in a dress becoming Wendy.
Ad bleeping nauseam.
To be fair, the cognitive dissonance of wanting to be kind, then quickly being given many examples of how you're doing the opposite while not being able to produce a logical counter-argument beyond "not all men" and "but look how nice I'm being" must be pretty uncomfortable. How long until we get the next member of the 'be kind, it's so complicated, trans women are women' brigade. I think the user kept on offering to go as a way to actually avoid engaging with responses. What a strange post.......I think everyone was friendly and accomodating to you, so why do you feel the need to leave? I think you have misinterpreted the responses!!!
I dont think anyone on here thought you were winding anyone up, and I havent seen any angry comments in response to your posts.
But each to their own!!
It’s a way of directing attention to oneself, I think. Taking up space by bleating on about how you don’t want to take up space, etc. What a strange post.......I think everyone was friendly and accomodating to you, so why do you feel the need to leave? Absolutely! I love men. I know many amazing men who are no threat to anyone. Without adding any details, I also regularly spend time in certain shared spaces, and it doesn't bother me at all.I really think the whole argument that not all men are predatory or violent so we should not worry about giving them access to womens safe spaces is a red herring. So they are "nice" men? So what? It still doesn't mean I feel comfortable sharing single sex facilities with one.
Agree completely. We all know nice men and often share our lives with them, but that does not mean other women or children will not find them intimidating or frightening so they should not be allowed in single sex spaces.Absolutely! I love men. I know many amazing men who are no threat to anyone. Without adding any details, I also regularly spend time in certain shared spaces, and it doesn't bother me at all.
Nevertheless, women need single sex spaces.
Also, I am a tall athletic woman. I am experienced in self-defence, and I consider myself pretty strong physically. My husband is thin, not very sporty or muscular, and rarely works out. We once decided to "fight" playfully. I went all in, trying to defeat him with all my strength. At first I was doing well. Then he decided to get serious. In a few seconds he had me in a position where I couldn't free myself. This is a kind, sweet man, and he immediately let me go when I asked him to stop. But these few seconds were terrifying. I suddenly realised that I am not as strong as I thought I was. I realised even the most untrained man is likely to be able to overpower me physically in a matter of seconds. It hit me like a ton of bricks. I felt incredibly vulnerable all of a sudden.
We don't like to think of this. And we're being told from every corner that women can do what men can do, that there's no difference, and that may well be in many instances, but when it comes to physical strength there is a huge difference. As biological women we are and remain at a huge physical disadvantage to biological men. And they remain a threat.
