On a group chat, one woman (who has seriously mixed up kids due to an abusive stepdad and various other things) posted photos of her son in a dress and full make up and referred to him as 'she'. Cue all the other women in the chat (note, none of the men) all poured forth with 'wonderful', 'brave', 'amazing' - WHY????? The bloody handmaids do my head in.

The vast majority of people in the UK don’t see it. But when Paula Radcliffe starts getting abuse, Sally Gunnell, Olympic champions - more and more people will see what is going on and they won’t like it. No matter how much you scream TWAW online in the real world without the filters and photoshop they will be clocked. They don’t like the scrutiny.

My mate has moved to Bournemouth, new neighbour dresses up as a woman on the weekends, has started to wear a dress to work. I rolled my eyes but didn’t want to get into an argument, but my mate called him, he, throughout. Didn’t try to pretend he was a woman and I can get behind that. Just don’t use womens facilities, men have to learn to share with men wearing dresses.

I honestly think most people don’t get it because the vast majority still don’t realise being ‘trans’ no longer means those who have fully medically transitioned. Survey research has shown women do not want in tact men in their spaces, don’t consider in tact men to be women etc, but they deliberately don’t clarify the terms now and that to me is another reason not to trust any of it. If you have to quietly try and change the meaning of terms in order to make the thing you’re talking about acceptable and palatable that’s dodgy as hell.

👏👏👏 Exactly this.

I think the majority of people, particularly women, think most trans women have all had surgery and hormone treatment.

The majority of people don't realise trans women self ID, many show no true intentions to attempt to live 'as a woman', and that many flip flop between identifying as trans or as the man they truly are.

I feel all the overblown screaming and shouting from the TWAW bullies has led many women to naively assume some terrible trans injustice must have occurred to warrant such a response.
The assumption is of course incorrect, but most people just want to quietly get on with their lives and do not spend time investigating things that don't directly involve them.

I was talking with my son the other day about whether or not men in feminine attire actually are at risk of violence in men’s facilities. Based on his experience of going in men’s toilets (lack of eye contact and no chitchat - you don’t want to be accused of looking at other men while pissing) he thinks not. I tend to agree - whenever you hear any reports of homophobic or transphobic attacks they are generally in the street, outside pubs or clubs or on public transport. He does think there might be a bit of surprised eyebrow raising or talking to your mates about the man wearing feminine clothing afterwards though, but that’s just as likely to happen in a women’s toilet anyway.

I think all that goes out the window when there's alcohol involved though. What might just raise an eyebrow in a sober thug might make him wait for the trans guy outside the pub when pissed and beat him up.

That could still happen if the trans person uses the ladies though. If they are going to beat someone up because of ingrained prejudice fuelled by alcohol then I can’t see a choice of toilet being a factor. And it’s still a men’s problem to sort out, not ours.

Probably more likely a trans guy would lamp some old guy that made a passing comment on their attire in a weatherspoon's than what you propose. The odd thug that likes violence after 10 pints is hardly going to be drinking in the same types of pubs that a MTF may frequent.

Have any TRAs ever explained how ‘identifying’ (actually just wanting the whole world to think of you as XYZ) as a different race, or age, or having a disability would still be deemed a true MH issue, but sex isn’t? I have yet to speak to anyone about it as all my friends are normal and also think that regardless of clothes and surgery, you’re still male or female.

Has anyone here or online seen what the actual argument is? How sex is fine to cosplay but everything else is evil? That man who wants to be Korean for example, no one takes him seriously, actively think he has a screw loose and is offensive with his ‘Asian eye surgery’. If he had a boob job and said he ‘felt’ like a woman instead of Korean, there’d be no concern.

So men who wear dresses don't want to use a toilet with other men, because men can be violent and scary? Oh, the irony 🙄

I actually hate the whole 'transwomen need to use female toilets because men are a danger' argument. I find it so self defeating. Like yep, men are a danger. And you are the men! Miss me with this 'not like other men' balls just because you put on a dress and some lipstick.

Yup. And I think most people are well-intentioned and don't want to believe the worst, or are simply unaware - I notice a lot of newcomers to this thread (myself included) start off by saying "I'm very much live and let live, but..." and I can understand why. When a former colleague came out as trans in his 40s, I thought "that's a big change but good for him". I knew something didn't feel right but couldn't put my finger on it, and it was only after learning about AGP that I realised what was going on. I was very shocked when I found out that very few TiMs actually have surgery or medically transition.

Calling people who actually seek medical transition 'trans' along with people who 'self ID' or those who make no effort to medically transition themselves is an absolute nonsense, and I am actually sympathetic to those who hate their bodies so much that they do seek medical transition. I am not sympathetic in any form to those who 'self ID' and they're the ones that I don't trust. If anyone is denigrating trans rights for genuine trans people it's those who self ID and think that they should be treated the same as people who have sought surgery etc. If you have gender dysphoria you'd want to transition, I do think it's that simple tbh, and we need to stop treating these things as being the same when they plainly aren't.

Imagine what a complete ego-boosting turn on it is for all the TIM's flouncing around in lipstick and a dress and being told how stunning and brave they are.

ETA I'm just realising that whenever I see a trans woman, nine times out of ten, they make a point of making eye contact and smiling. Definitely get a kick out of being noticed.

🤦‍♀️😾🤬

It is getting more and more difficult for me to post here - well anywhere to be honest - as the hostility is mounting daily.

I fully understand why, of course. And I can see why some just cannot conceive of any of this beng a genuine problem of unknown origin that was not ever dealt with lightly or without lengthy medical involvement and assessment. For transsexuals the goal only ever was to get over that problem and find and live a normal life. Believe me I tried everything else first.

It is so not what is happening out there today meaning I fully understand why this disconnect exists. But of course it cuts deep after six decades to suddenly be equivocated as part of a hate group that actually hate me - possibly more than you can imagine.

We transsexuals are the stone in their shoe they want rid of as we disprove their argument that trans = constant oppression - and the claim they are only after a normal lfe. Becauase that is exactly what we have had for decdes and they are campaigning in ways designed to snatch it away.

They are literally trampling all over the trust we established by not pushing boundaries and burning the bridges we built over half a century.

Back in the 60s and 70s you had to be for real as there were literally no rights. You were treated as a woman by society and even paid lower amounts for the same job you did previously but without legal comeback as the law was a confused mess then.

You had to tell any man you met who you were before it went beyond the first couple of dates to be fair to them. And you all know the risk that entails when any man feels they have a right to get angry or it challenges their masculinity as back then when this was almost unknown it often did.

Am I gay was in their head from the start, And I had no answer as we had no idea what the right words were. This was not a defined reality just a live as you appear reality and stay safe and unseen so as not to cause any upset.

There is a myth (understandable given what is out there now) that no heterosexual man would genuinely love a TS woman. Hard wiring to procreate etc. Yes that is true to a degree and it makes it difficult to find the right one. But they can and do exist. I have lived it so know that truth. Not without issues but not impossible. It happens with transsexuals but likely never with transgender - especially now given the absurd arguments they have that has changed so many minds .

There are complications obviously and, men being men, their ego often gets in the way and their fear of what their mates will say may demand secrecy to protect their feelings but there are good ones who love you for who you are nonetheless. The real world experience of transsexuals seems a million miles from what most here likely think happens. And what likely will happen today for those declaring identities on Twitter. So I do see why. But it creates an unbridgeable gulf for the 5000 legally recognised as transsexual in the UK.

Judging these relationships with straight men is tricky for both different and similar reasons to those you face. And being fairly small in stature as many transsexuals seem to be for some reason and weakened by the surgery and hormone regime you cannot fight them back as popular perception assumes - such as that Graham Linehan IT Crowd episode. I chatted with Graham in private abot that episode as I had supported some of his moves to curb child transition as I know the imprtance of not just afforming everything up front. But I know from my experience how that stroyline he wrote would have really played out for me. He did admit he would write it differently today and that was OK by me. I defended his right to write it anyway, Silencing fair opinion because you dislike it is always wrong.

None of us have a clue how to react to what is the biggest existential crists since we escaped from dysphoria years ago. Inevitably it will drive many of us deep underground for self protection of our families .I may have to do so. My best friend who I have known for 60 years since before I transitioned told me today that when you are on a railway track and a train is coming then shouting out to the driver to stop is pointless. The right thing to do is jump out of the way. She is right I fear. Much as I regret having to do it.

Having a normal life matters to us whereas with many trans activists it seems only to be a very self centred game and they appear not to care a jot for anyone else and almost relish appearing abnormal.

Anyhow I do thank you for listening over the past few weeks. And good luck with your ongoing fight for your rights.

@Jayceedove, do you do anything to counter the aggressive TRA voices that speak so loudly on twitter? Because we need more “old school transsexuals” to speak out. Although I know it must be difficult.

God…when you see TERF is trending on Twitter (again) and take a look 😳 the absolute pile of dog tit that you read. There’ll all ‘terfs be like (insert some made up load of rit)’. Why do trans activists think they know what goes on in ‘terfs’ minds? It’s utterly bizarre. They are so wrong on all levels. And no matter the vile, hate filled crap they spew, I would never lower myself to retaliate. I don’t wish anyone dead. They must just be sitting raging all the time, angry at all the middle age women who won’t be bullied and won’t shut up and won’t lie when presented with reality.

They hate Sharon over there while she brings up her 3 kids, carrying all the emotional and mental load that women carry who doesn’t believe biological sex can be changed (because it can’t). They hate Linda who is retired and has brought up her kids and is now being harassed online because she doesn’t agree with transwomen being allowed to use female changing rooms. They hate Jennifer who is struggling to get pregnant and has had her sex erased in all things relating to her as a woman and is now just a person with a uterus. How dare she be annoyed at that the hateful bigot?

Yep such a hateful bunch these women. They definitely deserve to be bombarded with hate and in fact I think the police should be sent round and they should be arrested for thinking the wrong things.

🙄🙄🙄🙄 it’s so messed up 😔
I think we need to get #getstonewallout trending on twitter. I've never known of such an organisation that so openly hates women and it's sole intention is to annihilate us.

This in real terms, means nothing until the GRA is repealed. Once the GRA is repealed then sexed law returns and women and the police (not that the police care about women) can start kicking up about these imposters.

Until then, most organisations/companies/refuges/women's support groups etc, are completely captured by Stonewall and so most will not be standing their ground for biological women. Until the GRA (and the bloody farcical GRC for that matter) are repealed this is just pointless, virtue signalling to women, for once.

I agree that it's gone too far to be reversed, but I think it can be stopped before it goes further. I think changing sex on paper and the medical pathway for adults are here to stay but medical treatment for children will definitely get banned eventually. It might be too late for single sex facilities.
I was watching an old educational video the other day that showed patients before and after lobotomies, praising them for how wonderfully calm and placid the victims were afterwards. There were several comments saying things such as 'imagine living in a time when this was considered modern medicine' and 'this is one of the lowest points in human science' and 'I wonder what horrible things we do now that people in 50 years will judge us for'.

...In 50 years they'll be judging us for how young LGB/autistic/bullied/depressed children were funnelled into this medical pathway.

That's the video if anyone is interested (but it is upsetting.)
