"Should men be allowed to have public spaces in which all women are excluded?"

Pretty sure your next concert audience will be totally lady-free, Billy.

Yes, men are more at risk of experiencing male violence, but this is heavily skewed by gang related violence, especially in America.
Yes, men should be allowed to have male-only single sex spaces where sex is relevant
No, that won't solve male violence

It reminds me of a few months ago when someone (Harrop maybe) tweeted that only trans women should be allowed to use women's bathrooms and that 'cis women' would only be allowed to use 'cis women' bathrooms... and didn't expect everyone GC to reply 'okay, deal' 🤣

@Jayceedove a few times I've read a comment on here that has made me cringe knowing you will read it. I'm sorry that you feel that this isn't the place for you because I think you have a lot to add here but I totally understand why you feel unable to engage any longer.

“What about the men? Waaaah! Why are women talking about women’s issues when men’s issues are worse? Boo hoo!”

I take it he’s insinuating that women should assemble to fix the problem of male-on-male violence too?

Won’t even address that nonsense about “how amount men set up male only spaces?” 🤡

Does he genuinely think that’s a clever point, as opposed to something we’ve all heard butthurt males say on a regular basis over the last 4-5 years?

@Jayceedove, do you do anything to counter the aggressive TRA voices that speak so loudly on twitter? Because we need more “old school transsexuals” to speak out. Although I know it must be difficult.
I do and have for years. Just recently I spoke out against the swimmer, I told that cyclist what I did myself about sport 50 years ago and advised the right way to be supportive of women not the wrong way.

I was one of a dozen transsexuals who two years ago symbolically resigned from Stonewall on Twitter with Peter Tatchell's backing us as I recall as they were not helping either LGB or transsexuals. Only transgender. I signed letters in the Times and Guardian and others 4 or 5 years bakc. These were posted onto Twitter, Mostly to hostilty, of course. But we saw this coming long ago.

And as some on here know I have been saying these things even longer on Digital Spy where threads I posted in often got derailed by transgender activists even years ago and they ended up in effect banning the topic.

Twitter is just a war between two extremes amd I fit into neitjher, But I have posted there yes. Two years ago I was supporting both Sharon Davies and Martina Navratilova over the issue of sports. We all saw coming what has happened now so tried to pre empt it.

So we created a group to try to stop the government pushing for self ID 4 years ago. It was hijacked and destroyed via Twitter by trans activists who conned Twitter into thinking they were us by mimicking our name and several members got threatened with lawsuits by a litiguous trans person.

The original statement is still on facebook where it was also posted but was not targetted by trans activists as less visible I guess.

We are long past the point whwere Twitter is the place to discuss this properly. Though I go on there when there is something that needs saying as above on these recent sports stories. But Twitter is just a place where people love to argue and not for finding solutions sadly. Our self esteem is also at an all time low right now so most I know stopped even doing what I do there as the hate is multiplied from all sides. Most of those I know on off line forums will go nowhere near social media as like me they have tried but just found it toxic.

As I said transsexuals transition to escape dysphoria and try to live a normal life usually deferred for years whilst we sought the best path out - of which transition is never the first or second option. Often well down the line. We have familes and jobs to protect. Every time we speak up we put those at risk,

Plus most of us are on Twitter block lists from the main trans activiss like India Willoughby who go on about being the first trans this or that. But blocks as a transphobe me who was the first transsexual who as far as I know wrote and presented a programme for the BBC half a century ago when they were at primary school and who was on shows like This Morning or Womans Hour and many others decades ago. Because they have no idea of that as I was not on those programmes talking about being trans but about what else I was doing with my life after escaping from being trans and having a life. Which to me is surely the point of transtioning. To become a better person where dysphoria has been cured not permanently trans and fighting to declare who you are.

I have had many books published and lectured in universities around the world but never once cashed in by writing about being trans (I was asked years ago by publishers) - but the point was to NOT be transsexual and escape from this debilitating problem and live an actual life. And I owed my family peace from any attention if I had been using this to further my career because they had lived with this alongside me throughout childhood as we looked for the right solution. So I wrote the book, sent it to the library of one of the hospitals that had treated me, asked them to remove my name but leave it for any young medics and psychiatrists to read if it might hep them understand us better. That seemed the right thing to do.

It is so frustrating that only transsexuals view transition as a way out of dysphoria into living a life where you do something productive and not anything to do with being trans. Today it seems a way into something lucrative where you use being trans to become famous via social media.

Maybe I am just out of touch with the modern world given my age. But it is hard to see the modern values as better than the old school ones I lived by and still do where family will always come first.

Thank you for caring about that. But I have never had a problem with anything anyone says on here. I really do understand where the enotions come from and often agree. Words are only that amyway. My identity is not built around such fragile things that anyone calling me a man or disbelieving what I say is going to be intolerable. Of course we are going to see some things differently. We lrearn from one another.

If that is why transgender people act as they do they clearly are in need of the psychotherapy they want to make go away. In fact pretty much everything they say and do cries out as to how much the could do with it. None seem happy.

No it is just very hard keeping mentally strong as events occur around you that impact your lfe and you seem to have no influence over any of the, as you have become almost incidental extras to the main show.

I was a full time carer for many years after my mum had a major stroke. I gave up most of my writing as that was a 24 hour a day job but it was the least I could do for her given how she had gone through those years when I was a child struggling with me over this and backed me all the way in the era when nobody undersood this at all. We had been watching Loose Women together just days before and they had dscussed putting your parents into a care home and I told her then I would never do that and was determined to make that possible when it almost immedately became a question. So glad my work meant financually I was able tomake that happen for the next 14 years.

I went straight from her death into fighting this and have done for 5 years straight. It is mentally draining. And I have promised to help someone who as a young woman served in the US Air Force in Europe during the Cold War and wants to tell her story but is not a writer. She sought my advice and I am going to focus on what I can do to help her in coming weeks.

I need that break as this whole thing is mentally exhausting not knowing day to day what the latest thing that will ,ake me see even more distrusted is going to be. Trans activists could not have a done a better job of planning self destruction if they tried.

@Jayceedove It is up to our politicians in the UK to speak up and provide leadership on the issue.
As sport is funded in the most by the government they can start there by banning any trans athletes in competing
They can provide extra funding to teenage mental health and commission an impartial study into why so many teenagers are identifying as trans/non binary
They can uphold the ECHR ruling on single sex spaces and ensure funding for domestic violence is only going to organisations that provide that service to woman
Most of all they can realise that twitter does not decide an election and stop being afraid of a mental rabble who simply wants to change reality
I hate policing stuff on twitter but if the likes of Marion Millar can be hounded we can start arresting men with T shirts saying kill all terfs as I sure as hell would get arrested if I wore a T shirt that targeted a section of society.
They need to do this for the children who are being failed by their parents (not all but a large percentage) and the current set up of Tavistock along with the gender reaffirming education that has made its way into the school system

I've just been visited by a tory Councillor asking me to vote for him.
I took the opportunity of asking him how how he would define a woman 😃
He mentioned vaginas and cervixes and looked very embarrassed 😳
I recommend you try it with any politician who turns up on your doorstep 😄

I initially read this as "we regret that we are withdrawing Stonewall's support for the UK", like what, are you bleeping NATO or something 🤣 (Actually at this point I'd be quite happy if they did just that...)

This is the first year I’m hoping a politician knocks on my door but I doubt they’ll bother because Labour are a shoe in round here. That will be the first question I ask if they come knocking though.

There’s a theme here…

We might get to see that cervix he claims he has in that case then 🙄

ETA I'm just realising that whenever I see a trans woman, nine times out of ten, they make a point of making eye contact and smiling. Definitely get a kick out of being noticed.

🤦‍♀️😾🤬
I've experienced the same, and received sullen looks in response to my obvious split second facial recognition processing. I don't have the ability to lie (about my surprise) with my face, or even keep a poker face. I can't help it.

I'm in a no cold calling zone, dammit, would love to ask. Will email instead.

I genuinely appreciate your perspective, and for what it's worth, you (and others like you) are never included in my ire here. Genuine gender dysphoria and those who have and continue to suffer from it is cheapened by TRAs going nuclear on social media every 5 minutes. I can see that you have suffered, but built a good life for yourself, full of loving friends and family. I am sorry if all of this has reopened wounds. And as someone who cared for both my parents and grandparents before they died, I send love for the loss of your mother. She sounds like an incredible woman.
