It’s beyond me how anyone can claim women aren’t being erased if all strong women from the past are being transed. Soon we won’t have any notable women in history left.

Do women who identify as men but give birth, do they insist on only having two weeks statutory paternity leave, or the much longer, paid maternity leave?

Saw this on woke misogyny on Twitter. I hope it’s fake but it sounds very real. It’s so sad.
It could be trolling but also if someone gets this surgery at 19 they could very easily be massively messed up in the head. Even so, I believe this surgery is done in the US (not sure if here) and women who have been sexually assaulted could very well go down this path.
Some on this Reddit are suss but it’s scary how many people are happy about this?

.I'm generally of the opinion that what people do with their body is their own business, but clearly there is a huge amount of money to be made from this, the results (especially for trans men) are dreadful and I guess, I appreciate what it's like to feel utterly divorced from your body and hate what you see in the mirror, but surely there is a better answer than lopping off healthy body parts and subjecting people to a lifetime of physical dysfunction and medical treatment.
This is mutilation. She should have had therapy to come to terms with her own body - not how other people have treated it - and allowed it to be loved as it was. To deliberately do this to yourself… I know millions of people live life in bodies that may not function in the same way or to the same degree and are happy and fulfilled, it’s the deliberate cutting off that part of yourself which is damaging to me. It will not heal the trauma.

It’s baffling to me that people are quite willing to say they find practices like breast ‘ironing’ and the various forms of female genital mutilation to be horrifyingly barbaric and misogynistic when carried out in other cultures but virtually identical practices are gender affirming and life saving when carried out on someone with severe dysphoria or mental illness in a ‘civilised’ country.
It's been an age since I saw the original film, but I'm sure this character has a story which strongly implies that she's dressed as a boy because she's very aware of what can happen to girls (when Anita is attacked, she reacts very strongly and has an empathy for her which cuts across the gang loyalties?)

she clearly needs some kind of post trauma therapy not a ridiculously dangerous and unnecessary surgery
