It could be trolling but also if someone gets this surgery at 19 they could very easily be massively messed up in the head. Even so, I believe this surgery is done in the US (not sure if here) and women who have been sexually assaulted could very well go down this path.
Some on this Reddit are suss but it’s scary how many people are happy about this?

I haven’t thought about this before but most people who go through this surgery are white, I wonder if there is a reason to this? The only black person i can think of is Keira Bell.
I was watching a game show called The Tournament earlier and there was a TIM on there. They ended up winning and were obviously very intelligent so good for them. But they sounded and looked like a bloke. I struggle to pretend that referring to someone who looks and sounds like a man as ‘she’ is in any way normal. Maybe I’m a terrible person.

I went to West Side Story at the cinema, spoilers ahead:
The trans character's major scene is when the Jets have been taken to the police station to be questioned about their plan to fight the Sharks. The police sit the male Jets on a bench and Anybodys on another bench with a random woman. One of the Jets teases her about being "a dickless wonder" and treated as a female suspect, she throws a tantrum and starts screaming that she isn't a girl. Then she attacks the cops and runs away, they chase after her leaving the other Jets alone in the station to sing the "Officer Krupke" number (it's moved to earlier in the film like the original, in the stage show it's in Act 2.) Well at least throwing a tantrum is consistent with TRA behaviour.
She then gets a minor moment late in the movie where her previous tormentor is all "thanks, buddy boy" when she goes to watch for police - this scene is actually as it is in the stage version but in that, of course, she's being accepted as a Jet despite being a girl. Rather than suggesting she has to be a boy to fit in. She therefore isn't around when the others attempt to grape Anita, instead they have someone's girlfriend there crying and screaming over it. I think the movie was very good in many ways, but that wasn't one of them. Similarly, before it was released there was much talk about including a Black character. Well he does exist - in one scene, as a gangster who sells the Jets a gun. This undermines the several lines of dialogue about Puerto Rican people being unfairly assumed to be criminals because of their skin colour! Do the movie's creative team think that gender non-conforming women did not exist in the 1950s?

One good example is the Hindu festival of Holi, one of the customs being powder paint being thrown around to celebrate the arrival of Spring, which has been appropriated by white people into music festivals and fun runs, with absolutely zero concern around how distasteful it is to demean a religion like that (and I’m an atheist who thinks all religions are nonsense). I just can’t imagine any other religious festival being appropriated in that way.

Don't really know this belongs here or the unpopular opinion thread but Fairytale of New York has been amended to drop a homophobic term. But it still contains a derogatory term for women and nobody gives a host!!!

@maytoseptember this is an excellent post and sums up the problem with 'cultural appropriation' and it's overuse. So it's not just 'irritable white people'
