Two more observations:

I love the line 'I'm just here to say that jokes are funny, people'

and how the repent person sounds like Mickey Mouse

That video is hilarious. These are their 'list of demands' - I don't see it coming to fruitian, but it potentially could. If they hold out I think that more companies will realise that they can survive this sort of backlash though.

A list of walkout demands reviewed last week by The Times asks the company to remove all references to and imagery of Chappelle — such as murals and posters — from the workplace and acknowledge the harm the special and Netflix have allegedly caused the trans community.

Drafted by members of Trans*, the document also requests that the streamer set aside a fund specifically aimed at cultivating trans and nonbinary talent, both behind and in front of the camera, in addition to investing in more content from trans creators.

Along with reforming “internal processes” leading up to the release of “potential harmful content,” the manifesto also challenges Netflix to hire trans people for leadership roles at the company, such as directors and vice presidents.

Finally, walkout organizers are demanding the streaming service attach a disclaimer to “The Closer” saying it “contains transphobic language, misogyny, homophobia, and hate speech.”

Back when I was a yet to be disillusioned law undergrad, 'protesting' was an important way of exercising your democratic right to express disagreement on serious issues. People outside Netflix because someone has said something that gives them hurty feels are not protesting, they are moaning. I think we need to start drawing the line somewhere.

I cant post it here (on my work computer) but I advise you all, nay URGE you to go and watch the clip of protesters outside Netflix yesterday, protesting Dave Chapelle's show.

Its utterly brilliant and is like a scene from Curb Your Enthusiasm or Atlanta. I swear, there are some comedy writers out there taking note.

There's a man with a sign that says 'I like Dave'

A protester damages his sign (removes the top of it leaving only the stick) and then screams 'He's got a weapon!' (yeah, its the stick of the sign you just destroyed)

Then a very odd small person starts having a fit, waving an angry tambourine in his face and yelling 'REPENT MUTHAFUCKA!!!!!!!' over and over again.

Brilliant.
I watched it last night. It was SO funny. The counter protest was brilliant: I LIKE DAVE, I LIKE JOKES.

The female with the tambourine proved to me that the most virulent activists are rather mentally unwell people. See also: Meatloaf protester.

Bit of a side note but is anyone else getting annoyed with how much attention Penelope Jackson is getting for killing her husband? I can't remember reading as much (if anything) about any of the men in the UK that have killed their partners recently. I hope they will give her the battered woman defence and aren't gearing up to throw the book at her.

It’s a shame that we can’t sit and watch them implode because they are infiltrating womens spaces and harming women and girls. We don’t have time to wait for everyone else to catch up.

Yes. I'll be interested to see the sentence compared to Anthony Williams who murdered his wife because he was "stressed" days into the first lockdown and received a whopping five years in prison.

You just know people are waiting in the wings for things like this to happen so they can jump out with "Aha! So women CAN be violent towards men too! Told you so!"

Of course, it's easy to skim over the fact she was mentally and physically abused for over 20 years. That wouldn't fit the narrative

This is horrifying.
What are these poor women being injected with?
Not sure of the exact substance but the girl was spiked and friends had to call ambulance, doctors confirmed needle puncture. I won't post the actual article because it will probably out me from things I have said on here, but I've heard it happening this past week in numerous night clubs/ cities in my part of England. I would guess the typical date grape drugs ☹

But what about the stunning, brave TRANS SISTERS AND NON BINARY FOLK who are at MORE risk of this happening? Who cares about THEM?

(Sorry in a facetious mood and this bull is making me increasingly ragey. Plus I'm menopausal).

Sadly the needles thing isn't new - my brother is 58 and people were getting injected with things, usually heroin, in clubs in Bristol when he was in sixth form.
