Gemma portrays this no nonsense northern girl but I reckon Gorka completely calls the shots in their relationship. I get he had to work but not to go home for 2 months or whatever when he was working a matter of a few hours away. No idea what the arrangement was for the baby when she went back to work but I wonder if he’ll step up with the kids now.

I don’t think he’s that into her, and if truth be told he’s quite misogynistic as well. That’s why she still trains so hard to look a certain way, don’t think he’d tolerate her putting on weight etc. Quite sad really.

Oh probably but it will be for aesthetic too. Strong and skinny to her means that she's hot to others. And if that's what she likes then great for her but she's kidding herself if she thinks she's some kind of role model to women. Her lifestyle is completely different to most women out there, she heavily restricts what she eats in order to get and maintain that body. It honestly would make you feel like shit if you looked up to her for fitness. It's not like she eats a balanced diet with a few 'bad' bits thrown in and exercises for her own mental and physical wellbeing and just happens to have that type of body, it's from heavily restricting and beasting it in the gym. She seems to have a terrible relationship with food too.

FWIW I think her currency has always been her looks and as an almost 40 year old mother of two, she struggles with the fact, she's never going to be that bikini clad Loaded pin up girl again. She's sfilll a good looking woman and needs to embrace the change. And whilst she's doing that perhaps stop posting vids of the kids all over the gram.

I completely agree with this. She grew up in a time when skinny = sexy, all the "heroin chic" models and super slim "it girls" were in all the papers all the time, when Renée Zelwegger was saying she'd had to pile on the weight to play the "fat" character of Bridget Jones, and Heat magazine were there with their circle of shame to point out any teeny flaws in celebrities' bodies. I'm a couple of years older than Gemma and definitely remember being bombarded in my teenage years with the messages of fat being bad/ugly and skinny being the epitome of beauty. She then went into an industry that is very looks focussed (even now, nobody can accuse Hollyoaks of deciding who's being cast based on acting ability), and went down the road of lads mags and glamour modelling.

I think she's still in that mindset that being thin is more important than anything else.

The Strictly Live Tour with the celebs is a lot bigger than the Strictly Professionals Tour that Gorka is about to embark on. I don't know about tour rules for each, but I seem to recall that not everyone chooses to go on the bus.

I don't think the Strictly Live Tour is TV licence-funded either. Craig Revel Horwood is in overall charge of who gets selected for it so I assume his production company organises it. It's certainly not BBC-branded at venues etc.

Back OT, I don't think there's any excuse for Gorka to spend weeks on end without seeing his kids. He did the same during the last series of Strictly while other pro's seemed to manage to see their loved ones without too much fuss.

Does make me laugh when she tries to justify it in interviews by saying it’s no different to when couples /families don’t see each other because their partner is in Armed Forces …. Not really a comparison!
He does seem to relish very much in the single-life tour-life and maximises every opportunity to be away for as long as possible!
I think she accepted this as a way of life in the beginning, but in reality when your at home bringing up 2 kids basically on your own when your partner is a few hours down the road living it up every night in a sparkly jumpsuit & can’t be arsed to parent, must be severely annoying!

Freya has built in support for large breasts. They're great.
Much as I'd love to buy cheap bras and bikinis from supermarkets, they don't do my size (small frame with very large cups) and if they do, they're not remotely supportive enough.
All my bras and bikinis have to be bought from specialist stores, and £40 is cheap for a bra / bikini in those sizes.
Nothing to begrudge her for there.

Whilst I obviously defer to Gemma's expertise in all things including parenting, personally I would find that set up extremely bloody hard. He'll be back for a month and then off to do the strictly professional dances and then the main show right up until Christmas. If last year is anything to go by, he'll inexplicably stay there even if he and his partner are knocked out. A few weeks and days here and there every few months, doesn't strike me as an ideal relationship or parenting set up.

But then I used to get pissed off with my husband when he was an hour or so later home from work so perhaps it's not for me to judge!
