yes. Just finishing it now actually (listened at 2x for efficiency, lol)
relatively safe interview spoke a lot about motocross, ufc, racing, but what stood out was the host and he seem to know each other beyond the podcast or working together and he repeatedly praised Daniel for being “humble” and even went to say he goes too far and is too hard on himself and “self deprecating” and has absolutely no ego regardless of how successful and rich he is.
sorry but...lol.
Nothing too personal, nothing about relationships that goes beyond surface or saying stuff like “it’s a good story to tell your grandkids one day” or whatever.
spoke a little about retirement life DR said he’s not sure if he’ll completely go off the grid turn off social media and live on the farm or explore another passion, says he can’t imagine himself in NASCAR as much as he enjoys it.
overall it was definitely “good guy Daniel” would rather give gifts than receive them, cares more that the Moto racers are healthy than who wins and they all have good health. Talked about his sisterhaving kids and that she doesn’t get two hours to herself and he doesn’t know how she does it but he also understands he probably will only understand how she does it when he does it himself. But didn’t talk about any desire to have kids at a timeframe or marriage or whatever.
edited to add: he also talked about how he likes being able to dress in his own clothes finally in the paddock on arrival day, that it helps the culture because being a racer is so unrelatable to people or kids but when he was a kid if someone was wearing the same sneakers he was that he admired they became relatable in that way.
Also said having people like Dax as friends would be a wasted opportunity if you didn’t take advantage of the doors that could open like with Ellen and the industry if he wants to explore that more. Insists he doesn’t have a “brand” in terms of persona or anything prescribed and that he’s authentic Bc his mates and his dad would kick his ass if he wasn’t. Again. Lol.
