Alonso causing the DRAMA. Was DR even aware that McLaren were trying to drop him next year, after publicly saying they wouldn’t, or do we think this has just blown everything into the open?

I just realized this morning than the last true silly season we had was 2020. And this was also Seb who had begun it when they announced he wouldn't be with Ferrari anymore 🥲

I don't think Daniel is stupid or naive enough to not know that they have been looking at other options, he's been in this sport too long. The fact that he has had to constantly deny rumours again and again would alert him to this. It's all smiles for social media but doubt it's quite as lovey dovey behind the scenes. He was savvy enough to have a contract which gives him an out but no leeway for the team...that's the issue here. He's making sure everyone's knows he's not walking away and that if they get rid of him, he's taking a pay out
