That’s definitely been my experience, some things I see a little black and white but for the most part I take on other peoples emotions very heavily, it can be draining.Awe that’s lovely to hear
there’s a stereotype that autistic people don’t feel for others but that is completely wrong and in fact with autistic women it can be the opposite, we feel things very deeply and are very affected by the world and injustices.
I just said I’d mention that because I’m still getting my head around my diagnosis (probably triggered my panic attack today) and I think the stereotypes about autism can make viewing ourselves in a different way challenging following a diagnosis

There’s a girl her in the UK who is in the public eye because she married to a famous comedian/quiz show host. Their 3 kids are all autistic and they did a fly on a wal documentary. They both took an autism test and she came out autistic on her 30s. She said she knew there was something not right growing upWow that’s really disappointing. I finally have my first meeting with my gp this week about autism (im 99% sure I am and want to start the process of formal diagnosis) and it’s things like this that make it so much more difficult to be taken seriously (pre and post diagnosis). Also Lance may or may not be autistic, what right does he have to comment on that or deem him autistic, especially as an insult!
Lance is consistently said to be one of the nicest drivers by people in the paddock - he might just be shy? Either way he/no one has a right to speculate about it or stereotype autistic people. Urghhh

I worked in travel & tourism industry for over 20 yrs. At 40 I was fed up and studied part time to get a qualification to be a classroom assistant. I was lucky & got a job straight away then went to night school & resat my maths gcse and got my C. I got an E in school. I’m 47 now and wish I’d have done this years ago. I’d have went on to do a degree and done my PGCE (teaching degree) but I’d be near 52 by the time it’s finished and no one employs older teachersI used to really fret about it before I got my new job, I had an office job for a few months but that was just through a family friend I was worried i was going to be working in a backstreet pub for the rest of my life not that there’s anything wrong with that but I definitely might do something in the future
This is me... when I have to work alone all day, amd I go to the pub and think everyone is my bestie and wants to hear my opinion on everthingThey must love interviewing him, he was only asked 2 questions in the whole interview but managed to talk for 2 and a half minutes

I think identity is the part that worries me most - I don’t want to lose parts of how I view myself but also want to understand myself better, it’s hard balancing act. I’ve started journaling to understand triggers etc a bit better (and also use it to catalogue my signs/symptoms a bit more coherently).

It’s very hard to get teaching jobs. I’m only temporary in my job so don’t get paid for being off. Teaching jobs are the same and most schools employ younger teachers. I have to do an access course then a degree and really can’t afford it. I love my job and I can go home at night without work whereas my teacher is sitting planning work and marking workI think for me I know that my core has been rocked a bit, but in the long run it’s for the best because I’ll know myself and understand myself so much better, I think and hope you’ll be the sameI also have a lot of anger following my diagnosis because I was always told there was something ‘wrong’ with me or that I was a ‘bold’ child but really I was over stimulated. So looking back I’m angry and said for little Maisie but that’s part of the process that I have to trust. It’s nice to know more people and women I particular are going through similar.
