I'm also NHS and getting constant emails asking me to work extra hours over christmas to cover vaccination clinics etc.

Unfortunately for them I have my own bodyweight in wine to get through and it will not be happening.
That's the spirit! Same has been happening at our place and throughout the city, they're putting out ads for new reception and admin staff but they are really not doing well.

Had a shower and feel less woe, could be a lot lot worse and at least we're a specialist clinic so I can sit and get some gaming done between patients/things going horribly wrong with the building!

I was 2 AZ and one Pfizer
And me. Felt a bit “funny “ after the first jab. The phizer jab gave me a sore arm.

I’ve made my Christmas meal main, a cauliflower, leek and cheese pie (from the BBC vegetarian magazine). The pastry had fresh thyme in it. I still don’t feel 100%, so I made pastry in my food processor for the first time. It looks and smells really good.

yeh my arm is also really sore and quite swollen around the place of the jab, annoying when my kitten insists on being carried around all the time :ROFLMAO:

I got my Booster a bit early as Boots are doing walk ins and I thought it might be an idea just incase I get side effects I don’t fancy being ill for Christmas.
I got Moderna as a booster as apparently they only do Pzifer in the morning so I’ve ended up with a mix.
I don’t think the woman giving it was a fan of me. Even though technically I’m one of the can work from home people the office has said we can go in so I’ve been going in every now and again, so I was in today which meant I had a long sleeved top on so I think I took half a second longer than the people wearing short sleeves to show her my arm I think that annoyed her so she seemed to full force jab me.

Been trying to book my booster and it keeps telling me I’ve been sent an email to reset my password which never lands either my inbox or spam so it’ll be a walk in for me between Christmas and new year . Making a white nut roast to freeze for one of my kids Christmas Day ( they’re 💯 vegan). I’m waiting for the onions to cool before I mix it all up . Having a Brie and cranberry slice from Morrison’s that was reduced to a quid (I’m not jack) and a Corona while I wait.

if you can (obvioulsy no idea where you live) just try and go to a walk in centre, I was never able to book any of mine as it kept saying my NHS number was wrong and that the GP I am registered with was also wrong (both were fine when I went to the walk in, of course) you dinner sounds yum ❤

Apologies for rubbish screen shot . I made it last year and it was very nice . I ramp up the amount of garlic, herbs and seasoning in it . A riff you might say . If you were a lying grifting dirtbag
Scrum. So I get you can’t use pistachios but what are brown nuts? This is why I love this thread, you learn stuff all the time. It sounds lovely and your slice does too.

I echo taking a chance. My booster was at a Boots, during appt only time but they were accepting walk ins because I think they don’t want to turn people away. Good luck!

Yes I’m going to it’s just because I’m working tomorrow. Christmas Eve in retail is quite the ride lol.
I have a similar problem. They can’t find me registered at my GP either , I’m sure the walk in will be fine. problem Thank you for that ❤ I’m freezing the roast and I’ll stick it in the oven on Christmas Day .

or would you describe yourself as maverick for these changes? :ROFLMAO:

I just realised I forgot to say , I fry the onions & garlic in veg oil , use chia to bind in place of egg and use plant based cheese to veganise it . I honestly don’t think it matters what nuts you use . I think whoever wrote the recipe called it that to make it sound fancy . Maybe it’s because they skin the nuts first? I usually just see what nuts I’ve got that need using up and just blend them up . I would use pistachios if they were kicking about . Omg I’m just like nuts are nuts innit . Interchangeable nuts . I’m away to delete my account 😂

I'm helping at a friend's shop tomorrow because Covid/isolating has ruled out half her team. Haven't done a Christmas Eve in retail since 2000, so the luck is appreciated!

yes, absolutely wishing all of the retail fraus the best tomorrow ❤

and all my fellow nhs workers who didn't get annual leave in the next week or so. I used to work over xmas all the time and it's just so eerie, isn't it, when there isn't normality in a hospital? (not that we've had normality for 2 years like.) get on the gifted biscuits and enjoy the relative peace!

hope you all have some treats lined up for when you get home ❤
