To add to my last reply, which I can no longer edit: I love that you attended a boarding school, presumably receiving a top-notch education that would open so many doors for you, mixing with the wealthy elite who own literal castles and yet... you don’t understand what, er, privilege, is? :ROFLMAO:
Of course I understand what privilege is, but regardless of whatever someone's background is, if they broke the rules and are irresponsible during a pandemic it's not the first thing I think of. Rich or poor, if you were irresponsible and potentially putting lives in danger, it's the same. Yes, I can see why it's worse when someone rich does it as it's mainly portrayed that working class people aren't smart enough to understand the rules, when clearly that's not the case.

Re privilege: she travelled to South Africa, Italy, and Portugal this year. Last year around Christmas was in New York. She traveled more last year than most people do in their lifetimes. Also, she complained nonstop about not seeing family when her mom and dad live down the road. But she needed a break.
You hit the nail on the head!!!!

Personally, I’d have more sympathy for someone with a family in a cramped house, uncertain of what the future will hold, for going to visit family against the rules, than for someone who can buy their own peloton bike and go for long walks on their own property without bumping into anyone and with enough space to invite someone over while keeping their distance. But that’s just me.

I guess that's a bit of a sensitive topic in general though, because if she did acknowledge it people would say she's showing off her wealth. So idk, that's just my take on it, but I guess I understand why it irritates others.

Yeah, like I said I don't agree with the travelling. My mum's an exhausted frontline worker dealing with covid patients every day and agrees that so many people have put their own selfish "needs" before actually getting out of the pandemic.
If she showed it off as other have it would show her *arrogance*
She chooses not to be arrogant
It doesn’t mean she isn’t arrogant though 😉

I'm British too but even then I still don't get what all the fuss is about. I don't come from a particularly special background but I did get a scholarship to go to a boarding school for my sixth form years and there were loads of students who had homes like that (and a couple even had family castles up in Scotland in addition). I admit I did feel a bit out of place over there, but it's not like any one looked down on me for my background.

Again, I still don't condone the holiday, I just don't see what the general fuss is about regarding her home. Is she supposed to apologise for what she has? It's more important that she genuinely apologises for being irresponsible enough to travel in the midst of a global pandemic.
I’ve used this gif before and I’ll use it again...

Maybe not so much for me, it's the same thing. I've seen people from all sorts of backgrounds in London breaking the rules (it's not even like anyone tries to hide that they're not from the same households). I only say it because it's clear that the rules are there for everyone and for everyone's benefit. I've seen how difficult it is on frontline workers mental health when they see that no one's abiding by it and it feels like a massive slap in the face.

I agree, it’s a slap in the face.

Hell, I'd even be less put off if she captioned her garden frolic photo with something like, "Mike and I have made the decision to take a family trip to Dubai. We're honouring all COVID safety guidelines and practicing the upmost care with our travels. We know this isn't a reality for many this year, so we know how lucky we are."

People still would have been mad, but she wouldn't be in this dishonest mess.

I've been following her for 10+ years like many others, but this is just plain icky.

Remember when way back in the first lockdown she took a photo of Rivs in a meadow having a picnic and people told her off for leaving home for an non-essential journey....then she had to come out and say "Guys it wasn't an non-essential journey this is part of my estate"
Not to derail the discussion on privilege but that did make me chuckle!

Won’t lie, I’m not really angry at her. There are so many other influencers doing things a million times worse and I understand the whole point of being an influencer is to be In the public eye however some people are wayyy to invested in their lives and don’t really understand that people in their person lives are just as bad. Fleur didn’t really see her family at the start of the lockdown and then messed up at the end such as visiting her sister mum and children or whatever that was but unfortunately that’s most people and if the government are still allowing you to travel and are not stopping you in airport wouldn’t you travel? Obviously meaning you’d follow the quarantine rules upon return.
No, I wouldnt. Because almost a year into a pandemic, I know better than to do something like that. I could travel right now, but why would I?? I'm sorry, but saying lots of people do what Fleur did is not an excuse. It's even worse, tbh.

She has said a couple of times they wanted to get away 'to spend time as a family'.
Why can't they do this at home? The family home? I just do not understand that logic.
She has fucked up massively. It's the lying really that makes it so much worse. And I firmly believe she intended to keep it all a secret - because she knew it was morally wrong.
And quibbling about tier lockdown deadlines is just irritating - if there was such a narrow window of opportunity it doesn't mean you should take advantage of that loophole to sneakily slip under the wire. It was obvious since way before Christmas that things were only going to get worse.

I can’t get over the lying at the end of the ‘What I got for Christmas’ video. She spun a whole story of a cancelled UK trip but they actually had Dubai booked all along- she admitted that in the apology! She must have flown same day as this bullsh*t cover story if it really was filmed after Christmas Day!

Naaaaah
Her job is to INFLUENCE PEOPLE
That is literally why she has her platform as a YouTuber/instagrammer
That is why every 2nd post is an ad
Because she influences people to purchase what she sells

**INCLUDING HOLIDAYS**

She has a MASSIVE platform as I’m sure sure she will disclose when she enters a meeting for an ad campaign

There is zero comparison between her and jo bloggs

A family who can take their CAR to drive on their own ground to get to a certain spot for a picnic......

Bit off topic but how do you all know so much about her house? Are there pictures anywhere? I haven’t really followed her for a few years but have been living the tea the last few days 🤣

She still needed a negative covid test to enter Dubai
All of them did
**in advance**
They would have been informed at this covid test facility where there are health workers that the lockdown was going to commence
Her “apology” was a classic *FLEUR*
Not offending anyone, not starting agro with anyone..

Her statement is self preservation 100%

She wouldn’t have travelled if she really cared about the NHS (which let’s be honest she won’t be availing of ..... the privilege that people seem to disregard....)

She has been showing it quite a lot lately.
Which makes me LOL
**FLEUR ENGAGEMENT IS DOWN, SHOW THEM A LITTLE BIT OF YOUR GAFF BABES**

Ha she doesn't care about NHS because she doesn't use it, she has private medical insurance and go to private hospitals, she would never put a foot in a public hospital or beg for an appointment with a specialist.
