Cockney rhyming slang literally is just that - rhyming - Stripe was explaining another meaning which I'd not heard and where I live was traditionally Lancashire. Amazing how dialect changes so much area to area.

I don't know a lot about areas of the US but I am getting the impression that the area around App State is very different from Florida. I think I missed why Isaiah chose that particular college (used to watch the blogs occasionally if they showed up on my Facebook but not religiously).
I agree totally about dialects, I’m originally from Bolton but moved to Manchester years ago, only 10 miles but the accent is completely different, it’s strange how much they vary within a few miles.

She is also trying to stay off camera & wearing black. Funny how it appears like he has to follow her & Summer’s wanna be off camera more orders. Have fun w/ that! See!!! It’s not normal to film ones day! Get a real job Ace!

Actually its not uncommon where I am from. (Ohio) I prefer cornbread but have had the cinnamon roll with chili.
No different than maple and bacon, pork and apples, etc.

Yep. About a 1/4 cup of her Dunkin LOL
Oh I get it... but just not done in my area lol but chili here is damn near a religion

Skyline or Goldstar are definitely an acquired taste. Ive lived in Ohio my entire life and ugh...it is nasty. I know a few die hard supporters but not many.
I’m not a fan, either. I dislike chocolate and cinnamon so maybe why I can’t eat it?

I got curious about what one pays for food at a "bougie" grocery store. I shop at Aldi so I have no idea.

(Hey, Silly, do you know what bougie/boujee means, by the by? It's short for bourgeoisie. It's a literal Marxist concept, as in Karl Marx wrote extensively about society's class struggle between the powerful bourgeoisie and the powerless proletariat. His recommendation was to seize the means of production from the bourgeoisie and re-create a new economic system where more of the power is shared equally among the populace. He wrote a book about it called the Communist Manifesto and was a bit of a socialist.)

Anyways.
Sorry. That's the sociologist in me talking.

That big pack of chicken she held up runs for $7.99lb.
$3.99 for the "3 salads" worth of romaine
$4.99 for a pound of strawberries and $3.33 for 6oz of raspberries
Potato salad is $6.99lb
The olives and all the things for her "sharkoooooooterie" dream table run $10.99 per pound.

Yeah, I'm gonna guess that a whole lot of her viewers aren't gonna be paying that much for groceries.
I'm pretty sure that was 'Fresh Market' I've got one in my town on the opposite side of the state.

I feel real mean, but how is she getting her neck that thin?? This is the first time that I noticed a big difference in a way that makes no sense to me
Well..she is looking up and the camera is up high so you aren't seeing her jowls..in addition.. there could be some filters and photoshop.. but angles and lighting help a lot.. there are several things at play here.

I have absolutely never done compliance drills with my children. There is a point that you pull aside, allow the child to calm down, and settle and then you speak with them and allow them to respond. If it goes into meltdown, you wait out the meltdown and try again... I would never, ever allow for someone to teach my child a compliance order like this. I have seen it used once, during our time in OT and they were working with another child across the room, doing ABA. You couldn’t pull my jaw down faster..
When a child is in meltdown, it is usually because they cannot express their feelings, wants, and/or needs. It can be sensory issues, cognitive impairments, etc. For one of mine, he compartmentalized it as just overload. He wanted to be left completely alone and absolutely no demands placed on him. Once cooled down, he could respond and be ready but even he sometimes didn’t know when that was but the last thing once he came out of a meltdown, was to have demands placed on him... He wanted to talk or chill for 5-10 minutes..
It doesn’t always work and sometimes we have to change plans, do something different, etc. but it is what works..
I have no words for how they have trained Abbie.. No wonder the poor girl has went downhill and needs prompting and follow through for everything. They have literally took two steps backwards, instead of advancing her behaviors through meltdowns..

It is basically when they stop what she is doing or what for a meltdown/yelling to stop and then ask her to go through the “touch your nose Abbie,” “touch your ear Abbie”, etc., and make sure she is listening and complying to their directions and orders. Then they will tell her what she has to do. If she throws another tantrum or meltdown, it starts over. It is a big thing with ABA therapy..
Got it, ty, when I asked the question I hadn‘t watched the vlog yet then Ass mentioned what it was...I thought I deleted the question but u got to it quicker lol

I was thinking that if there was a way to edit her cooking vlog & excitement about food & replace it w/ the word ‘exercise,’ it would be pretty funny. I refuse to watch her cooking vlog, but the thumbnail made me think of that. She’s just food obsessed & needs to back away from the kitchen!

Amen! I rock a messy bun all the time. And it actually takes practice, which is why P looks like shit. I mean, you have to MAKE the bun look messy on purpose, she just hamfists her hair up and thinks shes tres' chic! LOL. And Summer rocks the 1990's Nancy Kerrigan tiny little bun. Bad bad look. o_Oo_O

I think the semester may be shorter due to covid. I thought I remember hearing them say that at one point...??
LMAO...Nancy Kerrigan small bun...

Coffee ppl...I’m still sipping on my Sun. SB latte! That’s how it’s done Massive’s! I drink maybe 1-2 SB a week during Pumpkin Spice season & make them last TWO days, because that’s a lot of caffeine & heavy on my stomach to consume an entire one in 1 day. So hilarious how Piggy has never considered that liquids can stretch her stomach too! I bet she’s gearing up for another surgery. Him too.

And can I just say how much I love the photo edits here! Since when are photo edits juvenile? Winter, I think you’re thinking of it that way because piggies in general are a much loved animal for kids. That Aunt Bee photo w/ P’s face at the piano was hilarious! There was no weight shaming. I think it stemmed from her older lady hairline/hair-do & saggy, puffy face.

I’ve never made it without a packet. I’m assuming it’s powdered. If you want to try it I’m sure you can have it shipped to you! It’s definitely a once in a lifetime need to try! Lol it’s only sold in Ohio, Kentucky, probably some in Indiana and for some reason Florida has a few locations. Oh I found a recipe to make it without using a packet! https://www.thechunkychef.com/copycat-skyline-cincinnati-chili/
That's a good recipe! If anyone wants to try Cinci chili, and I do recommend it highly, use this recipe for it. You can substitute unsweetened cocoa powder for the unsweetened bar chocolate if needed/wanted. I always have the powder on hand so I just use that.

Sounds wonderful. You need to spread the word, maybe initially through this forum for similar parents.

I am persevering with the food survey - I started again from 18 Sept onwards and have got to 26 Sept with the help of a bottle of wine - rewatching vlogs is a painful experience as one sees so many more nightmare moments.. give me a couple more days as the weather here in the west country is so awful that one cant get out without getting soaked so I have no excuse.
I think all hospitals have the same service. You can use email for some and some have apps. As for it at your pediatricians office or at your GPS office. I’d be lost if I had to remember all of the little details this free service provides. I highly recommend.

Then he might have to get a real job lol
I’m sorry if this has already been said, but if we were to believe the falling numbers posted earlier, he’s well on his way to a real job. Unless Tinkerhog really makes some serious bank.

Then he might have to get a real job lol
What happened?? And who screwed up what hashtag? Details please :geek:

@ABAPQueen1995 who rightfully pointed out ages ago that they have no input from autistic adults on their board and they also use the puzzle piece which is widely disliked by autistic people due to how inappropriately and horrifically it was used in the past (the neurodiversity symbol is better).
I think it was

I think it was @therealamylynn who posted an exceptional video that she knows of. Maybe she can repost so we can see what a school for Abbie would look like?
