wait - can you not vote by mail earlier? I‘m lazy and never voted in person all my life, but always just request the ballot via mail. Now I'm gonna have to figure out timings for travelling up to Silverstone on 4th July so I can go vote before I leave!
Pierre that outfit is such an ick.
I had only seen the top half of Pierre in the pics of him at Cannes and then I saw this and WTF....was his stylist inspired by Charlie Chaplin or something?!![]()
Whaaat, you can just ask for a ballot by mail?? Just like that?wait - can you not vote by mail earlier? I‘m lazy and never voted in person all my life, but always just request the ballot via mail.![]()
Anyone in the UK can apply for postal vote, no eligibility criteria.Whaaat, you can just ask for a ballot by mail??? Just like that?
Where I am it is only possible for selected groups of people (over some age for example, if they ask for it earlier) and voting in person is a rule to ensure the identity checking. Maybe it is the same in the UK?![]()
Oh, ok, good optionAnyone in the UK can apply for postal vote, no eligibility criteria.
You can really do that? Wow France is so far behindwait - can you not vote by mail earlier? I‘m lazy and never voted in person all my life, but always just request the ballot via mail.![]()
Irony is my parents live in France but are only residents, so they get a postal vote for the UKYou can really do that? Wow France is so far behindHere the only option you have if you can't go voting yourself is giving someone else the authorisation to vote for you. But you must go to the police station to fill in a paper where you put all the names, adress, date of birth and everything about you and about the person who will vote for you. And then the person who vote for you will have an official paper that they need to show to the person monitoring the vote for it to be counted. I have done it a few times when i was a student and couldn't come back home and it is really a pain in the ass

This looks so out of proportion….i have many thoughts (none of them positive!)

i think it’s to be expected this year more than any other year considering it’s the 30th anniversary tbh: in terms of senna himself, it’s think it’s fair to say that the way he died helps with the mythology around him, but in terms of that tweet i don’t know if it’s entirely fair to say “enough now” for the current grid wanting to pay tribute to the last wdc who died racing in the year that’s a big milestone since his death.
Have seen a few comments like this - what do people think? I kinda get it especially with people who weren’t alive when he was and why him rather than other drivers - arguably Schumi was a bigger influence on the current crop of drivers - but is it because Senna died whilst racing?
I think the tributes are lovely but understand the questions too - maybe the people raising them were watching that fateful day.
I nearly had a major argument with a work colleague when he let slip at the Xmas party that he doesn't vote because 'it doesn't really make much difference to me.' Like, OK, but there are a crap tonne of other people who exist on this island who it does have a massive impact on so maybe vote for what would help them?!Please everyone in the UK vote - whether by mail or in person (and if in person you will need appropriate ID) - Its one of the things I feel most passionate about (even more than Lando!!!) - its a privilege to vote, especially for us women and one of the reason the gov gets away with what it does is cos of apathy.
*steps off soapbox*
