I’m glad he specified this, though I think it’s too late and a lot of people on X are already firmly convinced it was Israel and no matter what anyone says, even Joost, wouldn’t believe otherwise now.
It’s not giving the translation for me.

Song 9 is now Ireland ironically. I wonder what he would have made of Bambi.
He probably would have said she’s a queer girl, but in the old sort of way, not anything to do with sexuality or gender.

What a mess. There’s still no clarity what exactly happened and as such, making the statement that excluding him is disproportionate also can’t be made, in my opinion. But the press could have handled this better from the get go, with clearer statements on what didn’t happen.
Ruins the whole atmosphere. My friend who lives in Malmö said yesterday morning that the town looked as if at war with so many armed people but at least everyone was just really happy and excited. I hope it hasn’t changed.

I'm trying really hard to avoid all the politics going on, I know that's not very PC of me but I just think of Eurovision as good old, glittery, cheesy fun!
That is why it's as popular as it is, I'm beginning to wonder if will still be in existence in 25 years time as the whole point was unity, but the world has changed since its arguably 70/80s heyday.

IMO I don't think Eurovision will exist in 25 years time.

How can you make me love Estonia more! 🥰🥰
I would need an Estonian recipe for next year, so it's a 'no' from me unless some Estonian Tattler appears so I can get some guidance from them.

Marty Whelan (Irish commentator) started out referring to the Swiss entry as 'he' until some producer in his earpiece obviously corrected him and then he was saying 'they' as much as humanly possible😅

A lot of people moved on from that rumour when the Swedish news clarified it involved a photographer/journalists/production

The new issue has become the videos and pictures from that delegation

I don’t see anyway of Israel not winning tonight. The televote may almost be Ukraine 2022 levels. The juries would have to put her in the bottom 10/5 for her not to take it and I don’t see that. CAN WE JUST CANCEL THIS YEAR.

Honestly the most likely reason would be financial pressures. A lot of countries can't afford it, Moldova basically had no budget for backing singers this year from what I have read

The politics is fairly easy to fix by excluding countries that are deemed to be controversial at time of war

Yes I have seen numerous posts showing the Israeli delegation trying to rile up or insult other contestants/ people in the press rooms. What a slap in the face for all of the artists who have put in all this work, who have risked their careers/reputation by competing ALONGSIDE Israel, all of the press for whom ESC is their life to have to watch Israel win tonight. Not to mention us pro Palestine supporters. This is heart breaking. I guess the other angle that I have seen is that ‘we’ brought this on ourselves by booing Eden etc. ultimately if everyone wasn’t so hell bent on making her feel uncomfortable- she wouldn’t be getting this retaliatory televote that is coming her way. Are there better (SMARTER) ways to get your opinion across? Perhaps- but I don’t know what they would be. I just remember last week hearing people writing ‘I hope there’s a stage invasion’ and thinking that is the worst idea. All that would do is bring attention to them and give her a sympathy vote. Alas here we are.

Linda Martin on RTE radio this morning said she thinks the guy from the Netherlands has been disqualified because of something he said to the Israeli singer. She is in Malmo and a guest of the EBC.

So which is it, an ill considered comment to the Israeli singer of a scuffle with a photographer? It's an awful mess whatever way you look at it.

Nothing to do with Israeli singer and this was clarified in the statement. There are too many rumours going around. It's infuriating to see people on twitter take things and run with it. All we know is that there was an incident with a member of the production crew.

This is the issue with the EBC taking so long to take action and release a statement. Unfortunately the damage has already been done.

I think Croatia will still take it. Remember a lot of people just casually watch the show and won't know what's going on. I hope those people will vote for what they consider to be the best song.

Why? Because you don’t like it? I’m sure there were tons of people who didn’t approve of Ukraine winning because of the sympathy vote in 2022.

Anything with a public vote is prone to stuff like this and honestly I think the largest part of the reason she’s getting the sympathy vote is because of the minority in the pro-Palestine group who see fit to threaten her, the other entrants who are happy to take the Israeli sponsor money but pretend to cry when she gets through, pretend to be asleep when she talks and the people in general who decide it’s appropriate to behave so she has to be locked in a dressing room and escorted everywhere with massive Swedish police protection purely because of her nationality and religion then throw a fit when people say it’s not appropriate and she gets some sympathy votes.
