Absolutely private consultations and diagnostics are just as valid as NHS services. However, I do doubt the validity of a diagnosis which has been made after a 60 minute virtual consultation when the clinician doesn't have a full picture of Eden's symptoms and behaviours. It feels irresponsible for them to categorically just say she has ADHD from one appointment like that. If there's any criticism to be made then it's aimed at those clinicians rather than the patients who are desperately seeking answers.

There's no shame in choosing the private route to get your diagnosis when the NHS has been brought to its knees thanks to the current government. You have to do what's in your best interest. It just frustrates me that once again Eden is discrediting the people that genuinely struggle with ADHD by making it seem like all you need is a quick chat with a person you've never met to get a diagnosis and that it's just some quirky little disorder that makes her say outrageous things and lay in bed all day.
That is how they do it though. That’s exactly how I was diagnosed by an NHS psychiatrist, they took a history (which they’ll have done for her as well), and because I was a child they also got my school teachers to fill in a questionnaire about my behaviour, then I went for a 1 hour assessment and at the end they diagnosed me with ADHD.

The doctor asked whether she frequently interrupts people when they are talking and she said yes I’m such a blabbermouth, I’m always saying inappropriate things etc etc.

I think Eden has missed the point there. You can interrupt people and it not be the putrid, disgusting verbiage that she likes to spout off. Correct me if I’m wrong but I wasn’t aware that ADHD makes you hyper sexual? I’ve been on the waiting list for two years. I interrupt people. But I certainly don’t talk about anal in front of grandmas.

My 9 year old has severe ADHD bless him. And he is impulsive and sometimes says things inappropriate. We as parents are teaching him that ADHD is NOT an excuse for being rude, insulting, or inappropriate. We never let him use his ADHD for bad behaviour, he still has the same consequences as his brother. Sick of people using mental health conditions as excuses to be a bleep. The youngsters that look up to her will now use it as an excuse to behave in any manner they wish to.
I don't think it's ADHD I think she is just rude, outspoken and inappropriate and never had any come backs from her crappy behaviour

My son is exactly the same, I get called all sorts and try to explain to him it’s not kind behaviour and he can’t use it as an excuse. He is very compassionate to others when someone is unkind to them but then he does it and he thinks it’s okay/acceptable as he knows he has additional needs and ADHD. She’s ONLY 25, but my 9 year old knows not to swear, be rude or just be a complete bellend and I am really working on it (single mum life) but some days are worse than others in teaching him.

Using ADHD as an excuse for her behaviour has actually blown my mind. I’m keen to see if she goes on medication as it cost me £90 privately (in Scotland) a month for my boy before I just couldn’t afford it anymore and it didn’t really work for him anyway. He’s luckily finally been diagnosed by NHS doctors and now under CAMHS after years of waiting (which helped in him being moved from mainstream school to a support base as the council wouldn’t take a private diagnosis even though it was pretty bloody obvious he was struggling at mainstream!!) but they can’t really recommend a medication for ADHD. They have him on anxiety medication but there’s no difference other than less tics/twitches which is what he gets when he is struggling a lot at school.

It took me years to be diagnosed with ADHD. It wasn’t a ‘thing’ when I was at school, and when it was it was ‘a naughty boys excuse’.

It’s I’ve been tearful all day because I don’t want her to represent us. I don’t want people to think it’s an easy path. It’s so hard to live with. I get huge periods of depression where I sit here and get upset thinking what could I have achieved in life had I had support ect. Can she just not let us have one thing. Can one thing not be off limits for her to belittle and l to grab views. She’ll be shilling vitamins soon claiming they’ve cured her

As someone else has said, that is how you're diagnosed - the only difference is that with NHS it's usually face to face. The NHS consultants only have what is sent to them, they don't usually look into your entire history (i'm basing that on the countless of specialists i've seen over the years who have had no idea of any history unless it was included in my referral letter) so the only information they can base their diagnosis from is what they're given, just like the private doctors.

The difference here is that Eden does not show a lot of the symptoms. Even in the video that she shared there are so many examples. The doctor asked if she zoned out and she said "yes, i'm zoning out right now in fact" - how can you hear and respond to the question if you're zoning out? And if she genuinely does have ADHD she is using it to excuse her abhorrent behaviour - ADHD is not all blurting things out and being messy, she really is not helping the stereotype.

So I 100% agree it's another thing Eden is bullshitting on. But it's not really the process that is the problem. Eden should have been asked for some evidence, questionnaires to fill out, family history etc - it should have been more than just the clip she shared (which is so irresponsible making it look so easy and quick, I do appreciate that).

Also her comment that infers that her doctor is more capable than any other doctor, just cos they're private, is obviously bullshit. She's making everything worse for those going down the private route by making it seem like a fun little thing she did

After watching the adhd video yesterday, I cannot stop thinking about it. It’s really bothered me. I’m 23 and I’ve struggled my whole life with various things that would point to adhd. I’ve been waiting on the nhs for 2+ years now and I went to my gp with a list of reasons I thought I had it dating back to childhood and school NOT just random symptoms that come up when you type in ‘adhd in women’ on Google. Adhd is debilitating and my concern is that her claiming to have it is going to make it seem quirky and trendy to have to her young audience when in reality it’s the complete opposite. I’m glad she’s not getting the attention and reaction she wanted, the selfish, narcasstic cow.

Also, the doctor saying “consider yourself diagnosed” in a jokey way…Imagine that was a cancer diagnosis or HIV? It seems a bit of an unprofessional way to give someone a diagnosis.
Imagine her sat at home editing her videos, the thought process must quite literally be, how can I edit this video and use this situation to absolve myself of my crappy behaviour. She is so tone deaf.

I can’t even imagine filming my appointment, the cherry on top was ‘can I share my diagnosis with people?’ …. Imagine being diagnosed with anything else and the first question is ‘can I brag about it?’

It’s so so so weird. I’ve been referred for an autism assessment (already had a childhood adhd diagnosis) & I’ve only told my sister, but only because she’s been the one I’ve always had my meltdowns too or the first person I phone when life gets too much. haven’t told my parents or my other sister, never mind millions of bots 😂

i know it’s why she’s done it now but it also feels so contrived doing it the day before her podcast comes out. I know they need to build hype etc but it just feels like they’ve thrown a lot of tit at the walk with the divorce baiting, the adhd, the upcoming wedding and the inappropriate comments to the kids….

Well sharing your diagnosis is one thing… but did she the Dr know Eden was recording it and that her responses etc would be broadcast across the whole world? I would not be happy if that was me. 🤬🤬🤬 consent???

how much are we betting that the podcast tonight doesnt talk about the Yaz x Lee divorce situation and is just about the dan sprang saga? or even include the clips they’ve been using as they’re from another episode and tonight is something else entirely as they’re all clickbaiting cnuts

Elphaba literally done the same thing as well with autism, but it wasn't even a full diagnosis
