she says this like it gives her more “mental health advocate” credibility as if cbt isnt shoved towards every man and his dog. i also hate to act like one thing is “worse” than another. but cbt is the baseline treatment for literally anything, including teenage friendship struggles by a GP. you don’t even need a diagnosis, they’ll just offer you cbt if you’re a “worried” person. she’s using it as if she’s got her ocd diagnosis and the right to speak about mental illness because she ‘really struggles’ (i’ve never seen her carry out one of her daily compulsions she has about leaving rooms whilst she struts through her shed on livestreams) but i don’t think her having cbt is much substance pertaining to anything really. her GP also can’t give her a diagnosis of OCD and i’m also sure her GP would be aware that cbt isn’t exactly a pushed treatment for OCD anymore seeing as individuals who have it are largely aware that their compulsions aren’t rational, (i.e. someone will die if they don’t flick the kettle on 3 times- they know that it is not a rational train of thought but it’s a compulsion nevertheless), they tend to do exposure therapy or exposure therapy as well as CBT combined with medication.She's absolutely full of shit. She went to a GP, a specialist and had therapy and nobody at any point suggested medication?
