I’ve been thinking the same thing. I live on my own and while I’m very introverted, I can’t go much longer without contact.I can't go a year without seeing any of my family. It'll kill me
Yes, I've heard that. It's because data shows young people are the least affected so they think let the kids back to school/college/Uni and under 30's back to work.My Dad, who is sheilding was under the impression they would 'let out' the 20-30 year olds first. Ive no idea how you could manage that with childcare, places being shut etc but apparently he saw/heard a scientific adviser saying that.
He is under the impression he will be sheilding for the rest of the year at least until a vaccine is found.
Im not so sure. I dont actually think the government know what the plan is yet and that is why they won't commit to answering those questions.
I think they are waiting to see how other countries do it and what impact that has on the curve and i think they are trying to gather even more data to give them a better idea on what things to relax and when.
Government advisor on the news this morning ..No vaccine has ever been achieved in any other forms of Covid everWe all know this will carry on until a vaccine is ready so it makes sense to open things back up again slowly, especially as the NHS isn’t struggling. There’s a high chance things might be open for a few months and we go into another lockdown but by June the 15th we would of been on lockdown for 12 weeks so I don’t think it’s strange for things to be opening up again by then.
Yes but it's obviously not working it's spreading everywhere ..The first case picked up where I live was an Italian student within days it had spread everywhere and they did contact tracing on him also ...I think the money could be better spent on other forms of research into it ,their never going to stop the spread. They did his whole company

They physically can't keep the lock down in place for that long at this level. People will just stop following it and that's when there will be riots and stuff starting.I can't go a year without seeing any of my family. It'll kill me
Yes that was obvious it was about before lockdown. For those who haven't seen The Sunday Times piece. It is not about Johnson not attending meetings whilst he was ill or afterwards.
I agree, I've followed all the rules but it's going to get to point people are fed up. People need to see thier families if they aren't at risk. They physically can't keep the lock down in place for that long at this level. It would also completly destroy the economy.
I'm a sensible person and I've been following the rules so far but even my patience and goodwill will be tested as this goes on. If it get to June/July with no changes then I am going to see my Mum. I can imagine others will be the same by that point.
I'm quite positive that it won't get to that point (mainly because I have to be for my own sanity) and the restrictions will start to be relaxed in stages sooner rather than later.
The thing is schools do not begin and end with children. Staff (teaching, support, admin kitchen and grounds), volunteers, friends and families (parents, grandparents ...) of schools are hugeYes, I've heard that. The Government has said they're in touch with other countries to study how it's working for them.
Earlier in the press conferences they asked if both parents become ill and have young children they can't care for what do they do? The medical officer said then that in those circumstances other family members can take the children to their home to care for them. There are obviously exceptions like children of divorced parents being allowed to move the children between households.I agree, I've followed all the rules but it's going to get to point people are fed up. I'm due in June and my toddler is going to have to go to my parent's when I go into labour, lockdown or not, what am I supposed to do?
Yes but they're still open for kids of key workers so how are they managing now?The thing is schools do not begin and end with children. Staff (teaching, support, admin kitchen and grounds), volunteers, friends and families (parents, grandparents ...) of schools are huge
Skeleton staff and rotational working.Earlier in the press conferences they asked if both parents become ill and have young children they can't care for what do they do? I'm in one day a week if that helps and setting work online daily. We have, on average, 10 children in. We are all on a rota.Earlier in the press conferences they asked if both parents become ill and have young children they can't care for what do they do? The numbers are so low. Our usual student number is around 1500 and the most we’ve had in on any one day is 9, with three members of staff. Even then it’s a challenge to keep the kids from physically touching each other, and that’s with the luxury of being able to space them around a classroom, which you certainly wouldn’t be able to do with full capacity.Earlier in the press conferences they asked if both parents become ill and have young children they can't care for what do they do? I'm sure that would count as providing care for someone who is vunerable so would be allowed.I agree, I've followed all the rules but it's going to get to point people are fed up. People need to see thier families if they aren't at risk.
