Go on Burnley! 💜💙👊🏻

Now we just need Liverpool to put Everton and stopcryingfat Frank in their place for a great afternoon of football. Nothing like YNWA before the derby game.

@Peaches_xox Did you go to many games in the Championship/lower leagues? Nothing beats walking through Freda the Football Fans house to gain access to the away end at Kennilworth Road or the police escort through the tunnel to get to The New Den or that away end at Blackpool. Proper grounds and no sanitised bowls.

Plus literally any teams can be in the top 6, no offence to our resident Luton fan but who predicted them spending any time in the top six, seriously?

Different strokes for different folks 😘.
Mostly only at Upton Park! Although I have been to few away games.
PS I’m going to have disown you. My bf always says different strokes for different folks and it winds me right up 🤣🤣🤣

I know, I think you said about your bf saying that waaaaay back when on the silly witches thread and I store up info like that ready to use! You love me really 💙💛

This is a great Merseyside derby for the neutral. stopcryingfat Franks permascowl is excellent.

Football is shite! Unless you are Newcastle and have been brought out by rich owners. No offence meant to any Newcastle fans!
None taken, but believe me we have suffered for years. Selling our best players, no investment in the club, Freddie Shepherd, Ashley and before them Gordon McKeag.
The usual suspects appointed as managers. We deserve our day in the sun.
I am praying Everton go down if for no other reason than Pickford’s antics - sticking his tongue out to us in the Gallowgate end - and van de Beek stating he wouldn’t want to come to the toon as he didn’t want to play in the Championship. Cheeky twit.

I would love it if stopcrying Frank Lampard got relegated. And Everton voted for Leeds poimt deduction despite the fact it would have no bearing whatsoever on their league position. We don't forget. Burnley and Watford supported us so if Everton went down instead of one of those that would be peachy.

It would be hard for the fans but the Championship is waaaaaay more fun than the Premier League though, especially when you are the big fish. No VAR, no top six bias and if Everton can keep the spine of their squad together you'll probably win more games than you lose andvaway games at proper stadiums not at generic bowls of ground devoid of any history or atmosphere. But it's rarely as easy as being relegated and bouncing back again the next season.

I have no idea on Everton's financial situation and what impact relegation would have on them in that respect though.
When was there a vote on a points deduction for Leeds? 🤨 Maybe I’m too young to remember this.

I’m an Everton fan, I don’t want us to go down obviously - people say Championship is fun - sure it’d be great to tick some grounds off but there’s no away ticket price cap and you’d get clubs just charging us the highest possible, we hardly have any 3pm games as it is - it’ll just be more. Aren’t they Championship introducing a VAR light next season? For goals?

In terms of financially, it would cripple us. People would lose their jobs and the EFL are far more strict. And given just how much Everton have pioneered in how football is today and how football is

I don’t really understand fans of other clubs wanting us to go down, I actually think it’s weird how desperate some fans are on twitter - sure it’d be funny if it was like United or Arsenal for example but I don’t know, Everton are hardly threatening recently are we? We offer more to the league than the likes of Burnley, Watford, Norwich (no disrespect to them). I don’t think you can have sympathy for a club like Bury but then be like hahahauaua funny if Everton get relegated because essentially that would be the beginning of the end happening as a result of poor ownership.

Anyway, VAR must have been broken today because we should’ve had a penalty and Mane should’ve been sent off. PGMOL came out already and said they’d of had no complaints with that being given as a penalty so no idea why it wasn’t checked - got to protect the PL’s precious title race. Played alright today, expected far worse but just didn’t take our chances when we got them.

2007 for the points deduction. We started the season on -15 points, but still made the play off final.

The only clubs that supported us were

Bradford
Burnley
Colchester
Darlington
Ipswich
Nottingham Forest
Sheffield United
Sheffield Wednesday
Plymouth
QPR
Stockport
Stoke
Swindon
Watford
Wrexham

duck all the rest.

As for your last paragraph, that is what football rivalry is though. Hatred of other clubs, sometimes irrational, sometimes dating back to 1973 and that bad tackle. Plus you are managed by someone known for his whinging, snivelling and crying when things don't go his way. I suspect it is as much a stopcryingfat Frank thing as it is an Everton one.

No club is too big to go down. Everton included. And financially being the end, zero chance of that happening.

Leeds basically wrote the book on financial mismanagement and going to the brink of survival.

Ah I don’t know about that so I can’t comment - i’ll have to have a google, I was quite young still then so probably also didn’t pay attention to anything other than Everton 😂

I certainly don’t think we’re too big to go down, as you say no club is too big to go down. But I just find it weird (not you directly more twitter) how desperate fans are for it to happen. As I say people can’t have sympathy for Bury and then be laughing at watching the start of it begin to happen again to another club.

I like Frank for what it’s worth. He’s at least got bollocks to call out the tit that goes on, he’s a breath of fresh air in comparison to other managers we’ve had but I understand why you hate him haha!

It really would financially cripple us and we’re owned by basically an accountant, that’s how bad it is hahahah. The community and everything Everton does in Liverpool would suffer as a result of it.

Ahhh, you are but a baby! If you start reading about 2007 you might want to start at Leeds in the Champions League semi final in 2001 and ending up in League One in 2007.

Doing a Leeds is a real thing. We really did write the book on financial mismanagement.

stopcryingfat Frank showed his true colours over spygate and then got his balls handed to him on a plate by Bielsa in the press conference he held. He is a sniveler. The shower on his face is etched in. But it isn't his fault!

Doing a leeds having its own wikipedia page 😂😂😂 I’ll have a read. I like Leeds, you’re still sort of in the relegation battle - got some hard fixtures coming up. I think you’ll be okay though.

Didn’t Frank then beat you in the play offs and sing Stop Crying Your Heart Out himself? 😂

I can’t remember the vote on points deduction either but I would have been about 14 so might be why! I’ll have a look too, I find it interesting…

I agree no club is too big to go down…I would say I’d prefer Burnley to go down as I think Everton and Leeds, you have more chance for entertaining neutral games.

Yeah I was about 12/13 too? If it had been a couple of years later it’d be hard to not know about with Twitter around!

Well I’m really annoyed at Wolves for losing today 😂 I think the thing to consider too is having teams like Everton and Leeds and Villa around for example is it’s equally great if they were the ones who were to break the mold cos of their fans and history etc. Burnley are boring, Watford yo-yo too much and Norwich despite their efforts just always go straight back down.

👋🏼 from your resident Luton fan and absolutely no offence taken. No one could have predicted where we are. Survival is our only goal until we get our new ground.

We have practically a starting 11 out injured at the minute so we’ve not had it easy. Saying that I love the championship like you say anyone could end up anywhere.

Yeah doing a Leeds is not something to be proud of! Just saying on financial mismanagement other clubs have been there, done that and survived. We just hold a grudge. At one point during that terrible summer they intended to expel us from the football league entirely. Can you imagine Leeds starting again at the bottom of the football pyramid and the utter chaos we would cause taking 6k away fans to Hayes Lane, Bromley?!

Docking us 15 points was the compromise. So in effect we were docked 25 points as the season before we had 10 points docked for going into administration and were relegated to League One. We still made it to the play off final - and lost, the season was were shocked 15 points. But we were promoted the following season.

I dislike stopcryingfat Frank because of his whinging behaviour about spygate. And then one of his players took a poo on our away changing room floor and they smashed the place up smashing ceiling tiles and the sink.

Stay classy, Lampard.

Everton and Leeda have to play the same 4 teams in the run in. Those results will determine who stays up. At your ratio you will win 2 of this games, but I honestly can't see that happening. Equally we should win 2 of our games, can't see that happening either. We just have a 4 point headstart. And I can't see how you will catch us.

For what it’s worth when Newcastle got bought I wanted them to go down, purely on the fact that they’re rich and will spend well in the transfer window, but now they’re not going down I’m voting for Everton too. I think when it’s your club and you see people buzzing that you’re doing tit it’s hard to not take it personally and not understand, but there’s been times we’ve all been like ‘yep hope so and so go down the wankers’

anyway I was disappointed with the West Ham result today. bleeping Chelsea scum. Ruined my day that did!

Unfortunately I don’t think Villa will go down or I’d have picked them 🤣. I was fuming too. Stupid points to drop and we still have to play City and Liverpool…although we gave them a good go last time so let’s hope!

I don’t understand why or how Everton even voted in that though, was it the whole of the EFL who voted on the points deduction?

I didn’t know about the poo in the away dressing room either hahaha see how little I pay attention 😂 Jesus! I knew about the spy gate stuff though!

I think we will beat Chelsea for what it’s worth, and I think we should beat Brentford at home and maybe a draw against Palace (depends if they get dragged in too as they weren’t great last game) - maybe we can get a point away to Leicester and unsure about Watford away and Arsenal away - you don’t really know what you’ll get with them and equally our away record speaks for itself so we could be awful but still! Tense times. I really don’t want us to go down. Or Leeds for that matter.

Fellow Luton fan here and agree, if someone had told me at the beginning of the season that we would be in the play off places I would have thought they were mad. It's great though, if a little bit nerve wracking! Yes we have a lot of injuries so we can only go out and give it our best in the last two games, I'll be happy whatever the results as we have achieved so much more than expected. (Though of course I want to win)

Yes the whole of the EFL voted on it, 91 other clubs. It was an unprecedented situation. They had expelled us from the football league meaning we would have started again at the bottom of the football pyramid again. At one point this was accepted but once the reality was factored in - you'd get thousands of Leeds fans turning up at Nantwich Town or Bamber Bridge, clubs who don't have the infrastructure to manage it, it was decided to vote on Leeds starting the season on -15 points. Every other team apart from those I listed before voted for the penalty. That week is one of the most bizarre we have ever seen in modern day football.

So when you say Everton will face financial ruin. Leeds did. You will survive.

Really hope Neves and Podence are back. I don't think I can face watching another game like Newcastle or Burnley! That said, it's my last time at Molineux this season, so I'm bound to jinx it. Maybe your BF can be the counter-jinx!

Honestly if they’re back I think we will win, if not… ehh I’m less confident! That Burnley game probably gave me grey hairs 😭!!
Ahh fingers crossed it’s a good last one for you! The last away game the BF went to they lost so let’s hope 🤣. If they win he can get the train home 🤣
