There have been some interesting discussions on Twitter with police chipping in regarding the woman nudging the protester with her car.
A few police officers whilst saying that blocking a public road is illegal, to drive at a protester then opens the driver up to prosecution so it is a bit of a 6 of 1 and half dozen of the other. Quite why the ER douche bags haven’t been arrested yet is beyond me!

The Police can say what they want.

If they fail to act, then they can't complain when members of the public step in to do what they should be doing in the first place.

The actions of that person trying to ram the protesters out of the way was probably brought on by the frustration of yet another protest blocking the road - and no swift action being taken to move it.

I've been reading up on him, it is no wonder they think they are above the law.

Has he been out participating in these latest protests or is he bravely inspiring people from the safety of his webcam?
He is encouraging a lot of well meaning but misguided people to put themselves in harms way and risk the ire of the public.

As for any of them that go straight back to sit on the road after being dragged to the pavement, that's just stupid. The person who just dragged them to the side has now crossed that threshold where they would not physically move someone so there's nothing putting them off doing it again, and with increased annoyance probably less gently too.

Unfortunately our Police are too 'wet' towards troublemakers but not towards those who stand up to them.

Protestors are inconveniencing the wrong people, yet again

It reminds me of 'donating' adult fast fashion. Charity shops have (almost) no need for the ultra cheap clothes because they use more shelf space than they're worth, so they either instantly (or in a week) go into the rag bundle which then gets sorted through and shipped to countries overseas and destroys their local clothing economy and, as the vast mountains of unsold clothes degrade, damages their health.

Yet it's touted to consumers as the environmentally friendly option, rather than reconsidering how many clothes they need to buy themselves. It has only got worse since Instagram took off, where influencers will wear an item one time, so hopefully these 'virtual fashion' companies will start becoming popular.

That's the Dartford bridge closed, and hours of delays to get through the tunnel that's operating a contraflow. They claim that they'll keep it closed for 24 hours, maybe that's true. It can't be easy getting them down from there.

Here (Germany) tampering with transport has already happened. In my city alone, multiple times, these weirdos have slashed tires of "big cars" during the night, which helps exactly nobody. Victims need minimally 1 new tire, but more likely they need 2 (you need to changed by axis..) or even all 4 replaced, often perfectly good ones. Saw one victim down the road, it was basically a new tire they slashed. nobody is going to get rid of their car because of this either. Some of those absolute tools also slashed electric cars, which I thought were all the rage for them.

They've done that in the UK too(I think) they've certainly let down people's tyres. I'm sure once all the cars are gone they'll find other targets. Thugs are gonna thug.

What mobile phones and laptops do these numpties use when they're coordinating their activities or attempting to boast about them on the twatter.

Because they all involve some pretty damaging minerals/metals extraction, poor working conditions on the assembly lines, and even poorer recycling and reuse prospects when you look beyond the token efforts that the manufacturers pretend to make. Not to mention shipping the things around the world, everything associated with generating the power to charge them, and all of the above all over again when you start to look at the racks and racks of electronics all over the country involved in delivering the mobile signal or wifi that they communicate over.

Basically all just incredible hypocrisy and/or failure of education/understanding.

But they need their possessions! They're essential! Ours are not, just a luxury we can forego

Can't help but wonder what would happen if people started slow-marching down the street with "Just Stop Immigration" or "Just Stop Sunak" or "Just Stop Taxing Me" or "Just Stop James Corden", "Harry and Meghan", "Holly and Phil", etc etc. Wonder how far they would get.

Also baffles me why there's no "Just Stop Vaping" campaign. The craze for disposable vapes seems to have so many downsides yet nobody is touching it, least of all these activists that reckon they are scared for their future. Disposable vapes have everything!
- general littering everywhere
- plastic waste
- battery waste
- addiction issues
- concerns about the health and age of the users
- questionable tax affairs of the pop up shops that tend to sell them. Even in some cases some possible modern slavery links in the staffing of those shops.

And yet barely a peep about the whole disposable vaping industry? Instead these people spend their time raising pollution by causing traffic jams. Makes no sense to me.

Perhaps we have misunderstood and in fact that this is the true purpose of the protests, to highlight a problem that blights the entire western world, the shocking lack of proper public facilities? It's certainly a problem that would often be described as having a sense of severe immediacy.
