I find it kind of sad how she’s trying desperately hard to prove she has close friends in the theatre industry. And yet, when I watch loads of her ‘friends’ stories, they’re all hanging out since covid restrictions have been lifted and nobody is hanging out with her... Even her boyfriend spends his time in another room. 😅 But it’s not even like she can use her usual ‘My schedule is too busy to have a social life’ excuse. Also that excuse was so annoying because she acts like it’s unique to working in the theatre even though 1) that’s the reality of being an adult with a job - everyone I know who works in the health and social care sector struggles to have a decent social life so pisses me off when Carrie complains about that, and 2) why do all other theatre actors manage to have decent social lives then? She’s just constantly trying to make out that she works harder than anyone else in the industry because she has ‘three jobs’. Less privileged colleagues of hers probably had to bust their arses at theatre schools and scrape away every penny from ‘normal’ jobs in between roles. They probably work harder than she does!
I think I said something similar to this (the being too "busy" to do anything other than work part) a little while ago.

Even when I was a huge fan, I always thought that it was weird she never really socialised or did much of anything outside of work.

I think she doesn't have a lot of friends. That's okay but she doesn't need to pretend it's because she's so busy when she obviously isn't! Everyone else from what we can tell, still has a social life!

Guys, she’s just tweeted to tell everyone that she got cast as Cinderella two years ago. I had NO idea. She’s hardly mentioned it since.....

She's mentioned in some videos having to miss a funeral or wedding or something due to not being able to travel while in a show and while I don't doubt that I don't know why she can't see theater people who are also in London working the same schedule as her. Why can't she have brunch or lunch or go shopping in the morning with a fellow actor if they both have shows at night? There are quite a few industries that work nights. Where are her bartender friends or front of house friends or waitress friends? Where are her artist or musician friends who work variable schedules? Surely she's met many of those types while working as an actress. For someone in the industry as an adult for 8+ years now she really hasn't made many long term friends who are actors. Even before Covid we didn't see her and Celinde or Scott that much.

Back in her Les Mis days when she was friendlier and less off putting every vlog seemed to be her arriving at work really early and sitting in her dressing room for a few hours until Celinde showed up and then she didn't really go out with the cast after shows so I guess she just went home. I'm not saying she needed to indulge in lots of drinking but surely you could go out with some of the girls in your dressing once a week for dinner. Maybe she just didn't have the same touchstones as those girls like funny drama schools stories or moaning about their day jobs waitressing or teaching dance classes. Maybe they liked to talk about other auditions they were doing for cover rolls or swing roles and Carrie just had nothing to add since she doesn't go for those types of roles and instead just bounces between principal roles.

That’s a good point. She made the choice to sleep in til midday/early afternoon and then get to her dressing room really early. Her peers would get 7-8 hours sleep, wake up around 8.30- 9am and do their day jobs or go to classes, dance and singing lessons. Because she chose not to hang out with them before or after work, did she not realise that professional actors continue to train?
I’veheard multiple actors talk about their continued training and how important it is- I’ve never heard Carrie talk about it. The only reason we know about her current singing lessons is because Andrew Lloyd Webber assigned her to his favourite vocal coach. ALW is likely paying for those lessons, or it’s being deducted from her pay. Either way, Carrie isn’t directly paying for it. Those lessons area requirement of the job.

Yeah I always found it really weird that she’s always a main role and never an ensemble member yet never been to drama school or had proper training and she never talks about hard work and how difficult it is, I feel like she just wants to wear pretty costumes and sing nice songs, and just constantly be around gorgeous men

And is something she keeps doing show after show. She wakes up late and then goes to chill in her dressing room all by herself until someone else arrives. It was worse in her Heathers days because her dressing room was pretty much a tiny studio apartment without the kitchen

Yes. I recall her saying she wasn't interested in drinking back then which is apparently why she wouldn't go out with them.

You don't need to drink, just be social with your colleagues every now and then..?

I think it was of an excuse if anything.

That dressing room was loads bigger than my first studio flat 😅

I think she was trying to be like ‘I’m not like other girls, I don’t go out drinking, I stay home with my books and tea because I’m intellectual and quirky and nOt LikE oTHer GIrLs’

What did it say?! I don't use Instagram anymore

Did she make a full ad reel for the salt floating thing, putting in more effort than she has in any actual paid ads in recent memory?

Bizarre she went to so much effort when it was not, according to her, gifted or sponsored. She’s obviously after freebies. 🙄

Makes me want to not go to Floatworks in case I bump into her and watch her being nice as loudly as she can to the staff

Apologies this is slightly off topic but I’ve just seen this and it explains the slight casting confusion because there are so many goddamn adaptations of Cinderella floating around this year 😂
This is off topic too but why can’t they make musical films without james cordon! I liked Gavin and Stacey and he can sing but I don’t understand why he always ends up in musicals when theres a lot better musical people out there

I rolled my eyes when I saw James Corden in that list. Honestly, I used to really like him but he’s absolutely everywhere now and he drives me mad.
