And there's the entitlement. If you can't make a career without others handouts then it's not a sustainable career. And youtube isn't for the vast majority of people. It's a good little side earner, but very hard (and rare) to make a full time career, especially in such a small niche as theatre reviews (which is actually a dieing career anyway thanks to social media). Like any business, you need a plan as to how you plan to make money. Most successful youtubers do it through sponsored posts etc, not just relying on ad revenue. You tubers get on my last nerve. Stop giving up full time work for this
Wait. He posts on TheatreBoard? And there's the entitlement. If you can't make a career without others handouts then it's not a sustainable career. And youtube isn't for the vast majority of people. Also mickeyjo posted a few weeks back on theatreboard with a comment 'you'd be surprised' when someone questioned earning enough money through it
A couple of times he hasWait. He posts on TheatreBoard?
She's clearly not. You've been touting this breakdown for 6 months and it's never come close materialising. She’s clearly headed for a massive breakdown.
Eventually I think it will hit her and it might cause a breakdown, it can take months or even years of unresolved emotions to hit a breaking point and cause a breakdown. Never said it would happen overnight, I said she’s headed for one. How could she not be? It’s her fault for not dealing with things and jumping into this shitshow with Joel, regardless whether she has a breakdown or not she looks unhappy and dead inside. She's clearly not. You've been touting this breakdown for 6 months and it's never come close materialising.
If he couldn’t afford to make it a career, he should have done it part time until he could. You tubers get on my last nerve. Stop giving up full time work for this
So he said he, in theory, should get given money because travelling and the 'surrounding costs' of a free show is too much? He's lucky enough to get it for free. If actual theatre actors have to take on extra jobs outside of a show, why can't he?You tubers get on my last nerve. Stop giving up full time work for this
I despise everyone that tries to make a living by talking bullshit in front of a camera, I don't care how much time and effort is involved into editing (which is what they always say to cover their ass). I have an AdBlock (for the few videos that I do watch) and have never bought any brand endorsed by an influencer. If it were for me, they'd starve and have to get a real job.You tubers get on my last nerve. Stop giving up full time work for this
This is Carrie and Joel we're talking about. He would be capable of taking Carrie's surname instead of her keeping her own or taking his becauseWhy is Joel always reposting Tom and Gi’s content?? He does know he won’t become a Fletcher when (if) he marries Carrie, right
I think influencers are the worst thing to come out of social mediaI despise everyone that tries to make a living by talking bullshit in front of a camera, I don't care how much time and effort is involved into editing (which is what they always say to cover their ass). I've been disgusted when hearing a few younger folks from my own family (pre-teens) that want to be an influencer. Sometimes it does feel like some of the younger folks raised with social media and lately tik tok really don't have a grasp on reality and instead live in a fantasy world. Carrie is like those people, even if she's my generation lol.
Agree with all this, Mickey Jo is just one of many many reviewers and his subscribers shouldn't be guilted or manipulated into giving him money - unless he is working for an established publication, he won't be paid by theatres to review their shows, doesn't that defeat the point of a reviewer? What if the theatre paid him to review Cinderella, he hated it but then he felt compelled to give it a good review/emphasise on the good parts while ignoring all the things wrong with it? Also if you live too far away from where the show is to the point where it costs heaps of your own money, maybe don't go see it/don't review it.So he said he, in theory, should get given money because travelling and the 'surrounding costs' of a free show is too much? Also the 'people who donate seem grateful enough'- way to go on manipulating/guilt tripping the people who can't afford to chuck money at you. I bet it's like none of them are struggling to survive in the current climate.
Get a casual hour job then ffs. Absolute beg.
Think he’s planning to give it up and be a full time creatorI thought he was a teacher still?
I've made a MickeyJo thread in quieter threads if you want to postAgree with all this, Mickey Jo is just one of many many reviewers and his subscribers shouldn't be guilted or manipulated into giving him money - unless he is working for an established publication, he won't be paid by theatres to review their shows, doesn't that defeat the point of a reviewer?
