NGL I find it really strange that people are calling her recent story a fish for compliments on a thread literally titled as a joke about her career being over. We all know she experienced damage to her voice during Heathers, in fact many people on the last thread were speculating that’s why she’s doing plays and panto. It’s also no secret that Cinderella was a disaster and she was that show’s leading lady.
However more recently she’s talked of going to a specialist doctor, having some treatment and having worked extensively with a vocal coach at Cinderella. I’ve read plenty of comments and seen reviews, particularly after Witches of Eastwick, that her voice has never sounded better. ! think the Heathers damage is a thing of the past. I think the career change was linked more to the unprofessional behaviour or her wanting to try new things than vocal damage 🤷‍♀️

I can still search for him though. He comes up if I just type “joe” 😂
His profile is showing up normally for me (unfortunately). He’s reposting an ad for a new assistant company manager. Whoever gets that job has their work cut out managing the man-child.

agreed. It might not be only the voice but yeah it’s been a rough year. With the breakup and cinferella
crash and burn. Lauren Byrne getting miss honey and her just doing short concerts and panto. I genuinely believe she isn’t feeling confident and things aren’t going the way she wants to.
I disagree. Sometimes auditions just go to shit! Granted, external factors might affect an audition but she seems pretty happy with life at the moment. If she wasn’t happy, I don’t think she’d feel confident enough to share an audition didn’t go well, which is unusual to share anyway.

Do they earnestly think this is romantic? If I posted something like that my friends and coworkers would be laughing and cringing at me behind my back like there's no tomorrow. What do their professional colleagues think? Do superfans even want this? Who wants this???
This is my EXACT thought. Joel has to go back into work at some point - what the hell is everyone gonna think/say?? It’s crazy!! What will Tom and Gi say? Scott??

I hope people start turning on them
That first post with Holly/Amy was done 2 months ago… Somehow they predicted the future!! (Also, I would bet a lot of my money on Amy talking about Carrie and Joel directly)

She probably wants them to see that and be like "oh, she wasn't pleased with that performance, let's give her the job because based on that story she's usually much better!". Also she should be better at dealing with rejection at this point in her career, I'm not saying it's always easy to brush off but she should absolutely be seasoned enough to not share things like that.
This was precisely how I took that story post - an audition went poorly and now she feels the need to publicly make excuses for why and/or guilt trip them into giving her a 2nd chance.
Bad auditions are hardly the end of the World? Or uncommon? I have read about A List celebrities botching auditions, I have botched job interviews and presentations. It sucks of course and it can eat away at you but you largely suck it up and move on! It should have been posted on her private Instagram if anything!?

Yes she did, she’s a complete person and someone else just enriches that and how she was finding it hard being Cinderella and the on stage taunts once she was single because it was fine when she went home to a shag (she literally said that)
I hate to take a person's words so literally but good grief imagine your beloved partner referring to you as "a shag" 🤣🤣🤣

Carrie probably believes she's working class because she went to a private girls college that she REALLY wanted to go to. Tom paid for that. But her grades were mediocre and she dropped out to pursue a career. I don't think she had a lot of friends there either. What a surprise. She probably thought compared to the upper middle class girls she attended with, she was dirt poor.

Tom got a scholarship to Sylvia Youngs but I'm pretty sure Carrie didn't and he also paid for that as well. And it also wouldn't surprise me if he's contributed financially to some of the family holidays.

They do have lower middle class roots but it's never affected Carrie as much as it should because Tom's dipped in his pockets for her so many times.
Carrie didn’t get in to Sylvia Young’s.

Tom's spoken before about how his parents would take them to their grandparents house while they worked extra hours. (I think this was in mcflys autobiography) It seems that they were doing what they could to give their kids the best opportunities so it could be like someone here said where the parents themselves didn't come from money but did what they could to ensure their kids wouldn't have that problem so the lifestyle tom and carrie had wasn't necessarily a working class one.

When it comes down to it it's all about the job you get and it's not always as straightforward as being working class or not. Some people with no qualifications might end up in a high paying job (eg Carrie with her multiple streams of income)
My dad didn’t come from money (my mum did, to an extent) but my dad worked unbelievable hard, moved us all abroad and gave us the best childhood we could have had. Or at least for me, my sisters chose to go to boarding school 🤣 But we’ve always known we were lucky and spoilt. My parents have both always said that they can’t take their money with them (mum’s quite morbid 😂) so they would rather spent it on me/my sisters/grandkids. And as long as we know that we’re privileged/spoilt and that not everyone has what we does, that’s all they wanted.

Love that Joe(l)’s current role has him obsessively singing about ‘his love’ and threatening violence towards the object of his affection’s family, whilst in Waitress he was also weirdly obsessive and literally sang ‘Never Getting Rid of Me’…

And in Falsettos he was a psychiatrist who was obsessive/invasive about his patient’s ex-wife (asking questions about her sleeping in the nude) and ends up married to her.

But they’re all the lovable (minus KG3), comedy character who gets the girl despite the concerning aspects
Unless he's never been in a proper relationship before and these roles are all he has to go off? He assumes that these characters must be doing something right as they get the girl and don't hold any accountability, so he mirrors these actions as he thinks it'll work irl?

A tattler here saw them at cineworld on May 3rd. Pretty sure that was the first time we heard anything about them potentially being a thing
There was also a Tattler in the know who said Carrie and Joel had been hanging out since March, but didn't date yet then. Seems plausible to me, that he possibly became a confidante while she was talking through her break-up, then they started dating in May

Honestly I bet the couple wouldn't have invited Joel to their wedding these days if they knew it would turn into him centering it about his own Loving out Loud. Wedding invites go out so far in advance so they got kinda stuck having him there

As someone who trained in MT, it's pretty standard for productions to give all cast members (or at least the ones who sing in the show) scores whether they read music or not - it's easier to give everyone the same material than have the stage management or musical direction team waste half the first day of rehearsal checking everyone's music theory proficiency and printing out the right number of scores/lyric sheets/etc respectively!

I suspect Carrie is one of those people who can vaguely follow the shape of a score (this note's longer than this one, the melody goes up here and down there) but wouldn't be able to learn a show just by reading the dots and would instead have to rely on the musical director bashing out her line on the piano. Surprisingly common among MT actors to be fair, but having to bash out every single line really does slow the process down! I very much agree with that poor grad that learning to read music is an invaluable tool for musical theatre actors and seeing as she's quite a naturally musical person judging by her earlier songwriting I think it would be something she could pick up pretty quickly if she were so inclined. It's just a shame she takes any suggestion that she COULD improve her craft as a personal attack. I genuinely think she just can't deal with any suggestion that she's not already perfect and her natural talent isn't enough.
Georgie Ashford on YouTube often talks about not being able to read music but how she uses a note bash app to get around it

When did Oliver break up with her? And how long was it before she got with Joel?
Sorry if it’s already been mentions just catching up the thread moves so fast and I’m still not sure what happened with Oliver and if they only broke up 3-4 months ago them both of them have moved on really quickly just Oliver’s not posting cringe all over Instagram 🤣
They split up around the beginning of the year, she’d got together with Joel in May I think.

Classic rebound.
