Lena Dunham is a piece of tit. She admitted abusing her sister and then Lena and sister screaned at and threatened to sue people for talking about it.

It's word salad.
And you were totally right. Word vomit everywhere and pointless. I think everyone has felt a little sad about Caroline’s death, but of course there is no one sadder than Lena 🙄. I’m stunned that she didn’t get in a paragraph or two about her hysterectomy. She normally does. I particularly liked this little segment (just to remind us all how loved she is...)

It truly astonished me that Lena’s career recovered from her sibling abuse admission. Totally brushed under the carpet as though it was normal behaviour.

She’s odious, this isn’t idle gossip either because all of her ridiculous utterances are forever online ...from her own gigantic ego and mouth that she thought was untouchable from criticism.

I was thinking last night how from outside it looks like dawn grew up and moved on a fair bit from CF - husband and kids in LA. They were obviously very, very close when younger and single in London, but friendships do change pace as circumstances change. Dawn wasn’t one of those mentioned by the family in their statement and I wonder if she (dawn) feels guilty for this? Not that she should do, she has obligations as a mother to her boys.
In the front of her latest book she tjanks all her best friends by name. Except for Caroline, even though she refers to her as a best friend. Exchanges between them on IG were always "miss you" "need to see you" so I'm guessing they had drifted over time

Just as an aside, I remember reading about a woman on TV who is in her late 40s/early 50s constantly getting direct messages from women telling her she looked large or like a street worker in this, that, the other; her hair looked awful; her make-up looked dirty; she was too old for her job; the list goes on...

She started doing a bit of research on who was sending these sorts of messages by creating a fake profile and following them, and was horrified to find they were mostly from grandmothers who portrayed themselves as caring family-oriented people! She called a couple of them out publicly (blanking out their names), which sadly just added fuel to the fire as a lot of people in their age group replied to say they agreed with them (the bullies).

There were equally many supporters that came out in defence for this woman though, including a few who identified themselves as Millennials and said that their generation doesn't really tend to get personal like that (one person stated that, and then there were quite a few pages of responses underneath that post, agreeing with it). I found that quite interesting ...

There was an article in the Daily Mail about Caroline celebrating her 40th birthday and the comments on that were absolutely vile - why weren't they moderated out? I wonder who Caroline's main online bullies were?

^ that is shocking, you’d think older people would know better. The mean comments I’d see about Caroline used to be from young harry styles obsessed girl fans, who’d call her old and weird out of pure jealousy over a guy they’d never have a chance with

I personally think older people are the worst culprits. They grew up in a different generation where people were openly homophobic and racist and it was fine. I think younger people these days are sooo much more accepting of differences and open. I imagine she got grief from Harry styles fanatics but I wouldn’t be surprised if it was jealous older women.

Read most of the thread there. Sure, some comments don’t age well given the current state of affairs but a lot of what was said was bang on given the information we had at the time. The only comments I saw criticising her clothes was when she turned up to court in leather knee high boots and a pvc skirt, which in fairness was a poor decision. Granted I only skimmed through it because it’s 40 pages long.

Or maybe they were from people who thought a woman in her thirties getting off with a 17 year old lad is inappropriate. You don’t have to be jealous or a Directioner to think that.

Fine for leonardo dicaprio to like a younger lady though?
Double standards much.
I don’t even think she was with styles anyway. She was a cover for him being gay so maybe was just being good to him

Well Leo gets ribbed constantly and is the butt of many, many jokes, so no it’s not seen as “fine”

There’s jokes and then there is magazines making voodoo dolls. And yes there is a massive difference to how men dating younger women get treated compared to ‘cougars’ whether you want to admit it or not

The magazine thing was incredibly stupid and mean spirited and I don’t think you’ll get many people arguing the opposite. But things like that are incredibly rare. I think most of the criticism levelled at her was warranted. She was a lot older and was in a position of authority of him as he was a contestant on the show. People are entitled to see it as gross. He may have reached the age of consent but he was still a child.

And if it was Ant or Dec shagging a 17 year old BGT contestant the social commentary would be the same. Possibly even worse.

The thing is, this wasn’t about any of that. She clearly had huge unresolved issues which had bubbled to the surface and that were never properly dealt with. It is so so sad that she never got the proper help she needed to deal with these issues before it was too late.

Right and in some countries this relationship would be considered illegal. I don't think it's fine for a 35 year old to date a 17 year old, regardless of gender or whatever mental health issue the older person supposedly has or if they "just want to be loved" ffs.
