Every article I've seen about Leo is full of comments calling him sleazy and creepy for dating younger women.

Leo's girlfriends are always in their early to mid twenties aren't they? 17 is so, so young. It's not even adulthood. Plus as others have mentioned, she was kind of in a position of power. She was an employee of the show he was a contestant on. I think it's disgusting, even if she was a beard. Horrible.
She wasn’t even going out with him. She was a beard for him being gay from what I’ve read so was actually helping him cover his sexuality? We shouldn’t all believe everything we read in the sun
for what it’s worth I think going out with a 17 year old is weird ( IF she was) but I don’t understand what that’s got to do with this thread anyway? Do we not think she got bashed for that enough already and it happened years ago
As I said, even if she was his beard it's disgusting. I don't read The Sun and take everything I hear with a huge pinch of salt. Whether she was dating him, or pretending to doesn't matter. It's gross. She was an older lady and he was effectively a child. Makes me feel sick.
I’m not sure how her being a beard makes you feel sick? A beard mean she’s appears to be in a relationship it doesn’t mean she was, or was sexually attracted to him or actually slept with him?!?
maybe she befriended him and he wanted her to help him... only they know. He’s publicly very close with his mother and she seemed fine with it which makes me believe there was more to it than met the eye.
there were never many pictures of them together only one blurred one I can recall?

A woman old enough to be his Mum, pretending to be his girlfriend, to cover up his sexuality? Yep, that's disgusting and makes me feel sick. I just look at boys the age he was and see how young and vulnerable they are. I don't know the reasons behind Harry needing a beard, whether he wanted one or his record label made him have one. I just know that as a woman of around the same age as CF, I would not feel at all comfortable pretending to be the girlfriend of a teenager
She talked about the relationship many times. Have a Google of the pics of him leaving her flat the next morning, or just them out together kissing. He looks so young!!!

This 'lads' culture allowed him to be taken advantage of.
As I've said before I believe she had a huge secret, one that would have damaged her mental health possibly from a young age. I also think she was likeable and vulnerable which is why so many people defend her and probably why she felt more at ease with younger men. Just my opinion!!!

Exactly! There is the same age gap between me and my 17 year old son that there was with Caroline Flack and Harry Styles. The exact same. The thought of even the most immature of my friends wanting to date my 17 year old son, who is very mature for his age, STILL makes me want to be sick in my mouth. The thought of dating any of his friends also turns my stomach.
Too many excuses have been/continue to be made for that one, when it's nothing short of gross.
Just looked back of the pics of Harry from the time. Wow so young and fresh faced. That does seem VERY young for a woman in her 30s. When I turned 32 I had a bit of a mini-life crisis after becoming single after an awful relationship and dated some younger men, but we're talking mid twenties. I soon gave it up as a bad idea as while their bodies were banging they were so immature it wasn't funny.
Their age gap was 14 years. Sorry, that’s not a ‘mother-son age gap’!

Yes, a 14 year gap is old enough to be a parent.
Considering the age of consent is 16, I wouldn’t call 14 years a standard child-parent age gap.
I didn't say it was standard, I just said she was old enough to be his mum. Which she was.
So is 10 years old! Doesn’t mean a 10 year age gap is some horribly disgusting age gap.

I hope not. I understand that CF's family and friends are upset and looking for someone to blame but surely they can see that victims of domestic abuse often withdraw complaints, sometimes because they've been manipulated. They can't just dismiss cases because the victim changed their story.
'The Crown Prosecution Service pursued this when they knew not only how very vulnerable Caroline was but also that the alleged victim did not support the prosecution and had disputed the CPS version of events.'
I don't see how it's relevant whether she was vulnerable, you can't let criminals off because they're fragile. I'm not saying she was guilty, of course we will never know, but simply her vulnerability is not a reason to drop charges.

The statements from the police on scene, the photos of evidence and the body cam footage hopefully won't ever be made public because it will be heartbreaking for her family. I don't imagine they've ever seen that side to her.
When the news first broke it really affected me and I wasnt a huge fan, I liked her but that's as far as it went, as time has gone on I'm left with a huge sadness to think of how many other people are suffering in silence and utterly confused as she was. These are all just my assumptions obviously
Her friends were furious that the CPS were persuing. Yeah most friends would be. If an independent witness had said that then there would be strength in it. I still stand by the CPS. They wouldn't have pushed this hard had there not been good evidence at the scene on the night.

Views and attitudes on domestic violence have just regressed by about 20 years in the last three months. Shocking.
The stigma around male victims and female perpetrators was already awful. This has been so damaging.
