No, they don't, however why would someone considerably older want to date someone of that age who is inexperienced and immature. In many countries it IS illegal, the uk just happens to have a lower age of consent than others.

All jokes aside, age difference becomes less of an issue as you get older however, it doesn't matter what anyone says - a 31 year old having an interest in a 17 year old is weird, end of discussion. If you had a 17 year old lad and he started seeing a 31 year old woman, you're telling me that you wouldn't be a little bit concerned?

11 years isn't 15 years, but if you were a teenager and he was in his 30's, then yes I would still think it was gross, especially if you were under 18.

Cos it's less of an age gap than in your marriage? It's not about how many years are between them as much as it is about someone in their 30's being sexually attracted to and having a sexual relationship with a teenager. If it had happened when he was in his 20's, not the same, but he wasn't. He was 17. That's illegal in other countries in the west and there's reasons for that.

If you have a 17 year old someday who brings home a 32 year old then I'd like to see if you were still sooooo "not bothered".

Celebs are damned if they do and damned if they don’t. There was a number of people in here kicking off about all the celeb tributes. Maybe Harry didn’t want to make a public declaration of condolence, he didn’t have to, he’s obviously a private person and he paid his respects in his own way at the brits anyway

I just find it weird when people want a public tribute? Fair enough if the celeb themselves decides to make one, but I don't think its necessary...they can go to the funeral or say their condolences to the family in public. I remember kids harassed Debby Ryan endlessly when Cameron Boyce died, and were constantly asking why she hadn't posted. Like, let them grieve fgs.

I echo the argument that while what happened between Harry and Caroline might not have been illegal, it was hugely inappropriate. I’m not someone who tries to reverse genders in every situation to prove ‘misogyny isn’t real’ or some nonsense when context makes a very different situation... but this is a case where a reversal is relevant. Even tho I think the dynamic would have been different between a 31 year old man and 17 year old woman, and possibly was less of a imbalance of power in this case, they may well have had a genuine connection, she should have known not to pursue it.

Also the fact they had worked together! Sure that was (just) over, but they had effectively been colleagues! Even tho it feels weird to refer to an X factor presenter and contestant in those terms, that’s effectively what they were. I know people who meet on shows like this get together all the time, with the age difference and one as a contestant the other as a presenter I think it makes it inappropriate- again a male presenter and a 17 year old contestant would look like an outright predator.
It wasn’t professional, wasn’t appropriate and even if privately they were well suited, if you will covet a position as a public figure you can’t always do what you want.
