Woman I work with has just put on our work group chat she’s just had a little cry over Captain Tom and another replied I know it’s just so sad he was so young at heart and full of life. Not only have neither of these woman ever met him but have spent the past few months giving us a running commentary on their selfish neighbours rule breaking ways. Good job he raised all that money for the NHS I’m going to need them to reattach my tongue that’s fallen off because I’ve bitten it so hard so that I don’t end up in a disciplinary meeting via Zoom.

I stopped watching GMB and boycott everything to do with him as I lost all respect for him. I really cannot stand him anymore.
I would imagine the long haul flight to Barbados didn’t help.

Honestly with the public and media hype you would think no one else had ever raised money, served in WW2 or died from Covid.
They were just being practical. If the voice's were in time, Tom's would have been drowned out.
all of the praise that he is getting is pissing me right off! If this was an influencer they’d (rightfully so) get called out. He’s done good and bad. Let’s not ignore the bad. He raised money for charity but he also broke lockdown rules, end of. And Piers should also be the last person to call anyone out. He went on holiday to France and Antigua.

If amy of us measly peasents went to Barbados during the height of the pandemic and got ill and died of Covid, probably alone, we'd be chastised and everyone would talk about how it was our fault for going on holiday. And none of us are 100 years old! What is wrong with this bleeping country at the minute? Bowing down to the rich family while the rest of us act like reasonable human beings with a bit of empathy. Even acknowledging that over 100,000 others have died feels like a crime at the minute. Glad the One Show have stopped chiming on about him with Alex Jones forcing a tear out and Michael Ball straining to tit out some compassion. Why the hell did an old man need a song with Michael Ball? You're telling me that was part of his selfless acts of kindness?
I'm guessing they were scotching the 'state funeral' rumours by stating this.
