Not sure ? if you read it they're saying the family are planning on a quiet affair but anything after that they couldn’t comment on what might happen.
I don't think that a 'quiet' funeral would mean a state funeral. By quiet, I would have thought they meant a simple service not open to the public.
Maybe there's some kind of guard of honour or tribute to take place on the day that they haven't planned ? I thought it was an odd comment to make unless they'd got wind of something.

I'm speaking to my friend who gave me the silent treatment after I laughed over the whole ridiculous charade again. I asked her if she was upset with me and she said she wasn't but she thought I was being mean to her for donating to the NHS charity in his name. And I quote 'he fought Nazis and cheered the nation up'. This is an intelligent, savvy, well travelled post-grad. I said 'well I don't really feel the same' and we've moved on. I guess I kinda hit her with the double whammy because on the same day I called Keir Starmer a c*nt for pushing flag waving and patriotism as policy. She loves him too so I basically slated two of her heroes on the same day.
