I've read no, because he'd been poorly since he got back. But they'd kept that quiet? I'm starting to doubt it all now!

Yeah same. But then there is a newspaper article above saying he did have it.

So if that’s the case why the sudden cover up and not being honest?

Trying to hide that the vaccine is useless.
You simply can't vaccinate against coronaviruses because they mutate too quickly. That's why there's no vaccine for the common cold (which actually has an 8% mortality rate in care homes, and is a form of coronavirus).

Off topic but you statements are really inaccurate...
true that no one knows for sure how long the immunity for the COVID vaccines will last
the common cold refers to multitudes of different viruses, not even strains, and not all colds are coronaviruses. there's no vaccine because there are literally 1000s of targets.
common cold mortality is definitely not 8% in care homes, mortality for influenzae is maybe upwards of 10-15% in nursing homes in a really really bad outbreak year.
ideally, vaccines prevent disease in every person (that is difficult to achieve in some cases like the flu vaccine) so in that case the effect of vaccination to decrease mortality, hospitalization, so on at the population level is still an important benefit

Hannah locked her father in a hotel room in Barbados whilst she went downstairs and BLANK
This comment should have won the internet today, but then the harsh reality struck me that the only ones finding this hilariously bleeping funny are too old to be here. Seriously. Thank you . 😆😂😆🤣😆🤣

I think Tom probably did have the vaccine but contracted pneumonia anyway, nothing to do with Covid just that the elderly are far more susceptible to it. Problem is now that anti vaxers have jumped on it, and so the press are backtracking. You can see why a lot of people don’t trust the mainstream media, thats an example of a cover up right there!

So did BoJo do a reflex reactiive splutter 'ffwah bwaaar yes. A. Statue. Indeed. (Latin quote) fitting. Indeed. Covid maximus Fwaaaar bwaah'

'Carrie that will keep the peasants quiet'.

It wouldn’t fit the narrative if they confirm he had the vaccine.

Also this was comment on a suggested post for me today. I hoped it was sarcasm. It’s not.
Anything else? All children born here on in have you be called Tom? You no longer shout your kids in for their tea, it’s in for their Tom? FFS, it’s madness

ETA - I always thought if he got the vaccine, it would have been done live on GMB, orchestrated by Piers Morgan. He would have surely been one of the first to get at 100, unless they were in Barbados when they started the vaccinations?

I think if he'd had the vaccine, they would have filmed him receiving it. Why would the media and Government pass up the chance to show him receiving the shot?
So, I think that Janet Street Porter, and Sky News in that particular report, maybe just assumed he'd had it, and didn't fact check?
Either way, it sums up how I feel bamboozled by the mainstream media, nothing ever seems straightforward; for example, that the money was raised for NHS Charities, and not the NHS.
As others have said, I bet a lot of people thought they were donating for new equipment, beds and staff but it was never really made clear that the funds would be used for other purposes. I'm in Ireland, so I don't really understand the difference between NHS and NHS Charities, so I apologise if I have that wrong.
The other thing I feel bamboozled about, is just how come Captain Tom's efforts got so much attention, when other people's didn't? I would love to know if the story of him fundraising was first picked up by local news in Bedford, and then became a national story?
Because if it was immediately a national story, without being a little local news item first, then it shows that the Ingram Moores have a lot of influence and connections.
Sorry for the long post, I'm trying to articulate (and not very well!) how I feel that there's more to this story than meets the eye.

There's no way the family would have passed up the chance to have the cameras around.

Poor fella, he did a good deed but was definitely taken advantage of thereafter. If piers has a bone to pick about the backlash he should point the finger at tom's thirsty family who engineered it all.

They went away long before the vaccine started its rollout in his area. I think it's probably people assuming he'd had it and others rolling with it.

I'm more interested in the actual dates as the families version of events does contradict what was previously posted on social media. I think they've been dishonest about how quickly he was hospitalized after returning and tried to make it seem like longer to avoid/ pass on blame.

Where's all the ba staff and hospital staff that posted here to backup the dates? 🤨

I feel pretty crappy after a long flight, god knows what it does to your body. Then theres going from 30 degree heat to 0 back here. Impossible to say that didn't cause the pneumonia.

I don’t think he had the vaccine, it would have been all over sky news, they played rent-a-grandad/granny for days when the roll out began,

I think he received an invitation and many assumed at his age he then had it.

but horrid Hannah had a sun lounger in sight 🤷‍♀️

I agree about the date thing. It’s not adding up at all. And they have put too much emphasis on his negative test results to fly back. Also seemingly forgetting that COVID can have an incubation period!

His last Instagram post was an inspirational phrase. I wonder if it was entirely his own doing, or if his marketer daughter was concerned about his image to the end.

Also, that "you can do and be anything you want to be" simply isn't true, is it?
Starting to thing they're getting these phrases from fortune cookies now. The 'Live Laugh Love' huns will be lapping it up though. Expect to see canvas prints of them in Dunelm and B&M imminently.
