To be fair to our school the party I'm on about was nothing to do with the school. The parents used to hire the local Rugby club for the evening of the last day and sell tickets to cover the cost. We changed it up in my kids year and said as long as enough parents were happy to "help" we'd make it YR 6 kids only. And it broke the tradition. cos I’m sure as hell it’s not Erin - poor girl having to listen to the grellow one snoring and sleep next to her sweaty body . Also not much sleep will be had which will be a whole other thing,…and not help their fragile state of minds), if it’s how Babs feels then ok. Different people have different feelings about things. I didn’t mind when mine started school, other people I know did. Maybe Erin’s fine, maybe she’s nervous, maybe she’s mollycoddled, maybe she genuinely wants her mum. I don’t know. But what I do know is that it’s absolutely NON (as Babs would say) of my business. I do not need to know how a random 11 year old I have never met feels about leaving primary school. Why oh why can’t Babs, for once, just have something personal? Just keep her mouth shut? Just saying “ oh it’s a big change so crazy week here” is fine. You don’t need to share with thousands of strangers every reaction that your family may or may not be having to a big change. Have some respect for your daughter’s privacy FFS Babs, it’s bloody disgusting sharing so much.
