So far I have three books for my 12 from 12.

I have read (and enjoyed) both Trespasses and Tell Me an Ending.

My books so far are
1. The Quiet Tenant
2. Take it Back
3. Happy New Year.

I need nine more and I know there are nine more of you in this thread with a favourite (reletively recently) please share!

I can’t remember who’s read what in these threads but I’ll recommend you a few of my favs from the last year (or maybe even the one before) and you can pick one you haven’t read (if any)…
No Exit - Taylor Adams
Run on Red - Noelle W. Ilhi
Ask for Andrea - Noelle W. Ilhi
Maniac Menagerie - Iain Robb Wright
Before and After - Andrew Shanahan
Only the Stains Remain - Ross Jeffrey

Still loving Last One at the Party but
a lot of the animal stuff is sickening me, like the old lady eating her cat and next doors cat. I keep having to remind myself it’s not real because it’s making me heave 😩

Where's the best place to download audiobooks?
Do you have Spotify premium already? You get 15 hours audiobooks on that. Otherwise, there’s Libby and BorrowBox with a lot of local library services, or Audible tend to do deals

Ok thank you. I might get through more if I listen to some audiobooks. 😊

I'm a crime/psychological thriller kind of reader usually.
this is the one genre i never ever read oh dear 🤦🏼‍♀️

looking at my 2023 reads though i would recommend the marriage portrait by maggie o’farrell as one that might be up your street.

i remember you liking betty and tiffany mcdaniel’s new book (on the savage side) is based on true crime events so you may like that too!

It’s YA but they’re so fun and easy to read! I loved the Good Girls Guide to Murder series by Holly Jackson, also Five Survive by the same author ☺

Audible sent me an email with 50% off for the first 4 months so if you’ve never been a member before that’s a good deal! I use BookBeat and pay £5.99 a month for 20 hours, I will say the selection isn’t as good but I can’t justify £8 a month for one book on Audible. I also use Spotify

I’m going to recommend Penance if you’ve not read that yet, not the usual crime/thriller but has elements of both!

@ordinaryjelly I didn't think I read thriller type books but according to Storygraph, I read 17 last year (I definitely question how these were catergorised..)

But the three I enjoyed the most were:

Into the darkest corner, Elizabeth Haynes (this should come with a trigger warning though - DV, SA)

Bright Young Women, Jessica Knoll

None of this is true, Lisa Jewell (audiobook format is good, not sure how it translates in physical).

My goodreads target is 25 this year. I normally average about 50 a year, but this year didn’t met my target by 8 as I’ve been in such a slump since the summer. Im due a baby in April so have dropped my target as maternity leave can go on or two ways, ill read loads because I’m off work, or I’ll read nothing because BABY 😂
