Who was it on here that posted about DNFing NetGalley books? I think I need to start doing this as I have so many to get through and some of them aren't for me. How many stars do you give, 3? It seems harsh to give it a low rating if I haven't read it all.

Omg yes. I'm not normally happy with ambiguity - I need answers damn it! But here I just feel like it really worked so I can't be mad?! After everything the ambiguity kind of felt right!

But....still.....

This is so funny and so true.

It's exactly what happened with me with Frederik Backman (hello @Caffeinefiend!). I read Anxious People and A Man Called Ove and thought meehhh they're alright. But THEN I read Beartown and I was like what the actual duck is this pure genius I love this book. And THEN I read Us Against You a few months later and was like absolute chef's kiss, compliments to the chef, hats off to the master. I recently bought Britt-Marie was here by Backman so we'll see!
I am the exact same!! Thought Anxious People/Ove were very meh but Beartown and Us Against You are 5* faves obsessed. And I also bought Britt-Marie recently 😂

I loved Britt Marie. My grandmother asked me to tell you shes sorry is the first book where you meet Britt Marie but its definitely quite 'out there' imo and v v descriptive of imaginary lands / creatures.

I actually read Britt Marie first and its definitely readable as a stand alone!

How do people organise Amazon wishlists. Do you have separate lists for kindle and printed? Do you always add a book to both and then purchase whenever one has a good deal price? Or do you know if you would prefer kindle or printed for a particular book and only add it to the preferred wishlist?

I’m fascinated with people’s methods for organising books and TBR!

Also how many books you have on the go at once?

I only have a kindle wishlist. But any that don't drop in price I check my library. I don't tend to buy physical books unless I am in my local bookshop and see something that takes my fancy or my bookclub pick.

I always have at least 3 on the go:
Physical
Kindle
Audio

Can sometimes have multiples of each of these depending on what I have going on

I have one list and usually add the digital version. I check every day with view lowest to highest.

I will sometimes go through them one by one to check the physical but I dont buy that many physical books (she says with a straight face having bought double figures since Friday)

I add kindle reads to my wish list and check that daily. However, before I add to the wish list I’ll check BorrowBox and Libby. Then every few weeks I’ll check again just in case any have since been added.

I have at least one e-book and an audio on the go. Then also a book with my son (we’re reading the HP books so because they’re substantial, I’m counting them towards my target too) and I’m currently reading A Little Life (93% now!) so I have four currently.

I listen when I’m doing housework and walking, tend to read at night before bed, listen to a chapter of Harry Potter with my son before he goes to bed while we build and sort through Lego 😂 and every time I finish a book, I read a section of ALL. It’s working for me at the moment 😅

I also find things like this very interesting ☺

@Tofino - Everything is added to my Amazon wishlist as a Kindle book as I don't think I could ever pay more than 99p for a book ever again. I check most days for deals and also check Borrowbox as I like to save my 99p if I can 🤣

I normally have 3 on the go. One kindle book, one Borrowbox and one audio.

I don’t think there’s a Murdle thread so can someone help please 😂 TIA!

Book 1, puzzle 33
I thought I’d solved it but when I went to check my answer I was wrong 😔 How can Irratino be telling the truth, how would he know that the dagger was at the high altar if he wasn’t at the high altar? Or is it because Irratino only believes what he can’t prove? 🤔

I finished this on audiobook yesterday and absolutely adored it. Truly couldn't have loved it more. 5* from me. I was TOO invested in the characters. It sucked me in good!

Recently listened to Before my Actual Heart Breaks on audiobook too. Another 5*.

Fictional Irish coming of age narrated by Irish actors is my absolute jam.
I freakin' loved Before my Actual Heart Breaks on audiobook <3

So I dove into 'And every morning the way home gets longer and longer' and I WAS NOT READY FOR THAT.

Oh Backman you did it again. 4/4 5* ratings.
I added this to my wishlist after seeing your post and it’s now 99p on kindle

Hi hello excuse me.

Who here has read I Who Have Never Known Men?

What...and I can't stress this enough....the duck.

Absolutely bonkers book. So good.

Please someone talk to me about it I can't stop thinking about it.
Yes yes me! I read it earlier in the year and soon became one of my favourites. Such a good good book, but unbelievably bleak.

I'm reading The Lighthouse Witches at the moment, I seem to be in a right gothic mood as I've read Frankenstein this week, as well as The Ayslum and The Lost Apothecary last week.

Hi btw, I'm a huge reader - I've read 82 books this year

My copy of the Lighthouse Witches is due to be delivered this morning! Embracing spooky/cosy season by reading anything with witches in the title or a slightly moody dark cover atm lol

It's a slippery slope especially when you see how beautiful the books are when they arrive
Too true! I have Illumicrate and Fairyloot and fully intended to only get one a month but they’re just so beautiful it’s hard to click that skip button!

The List has dropped to £2.99. I cant decide whether to splurge or not. I dont usually pay that much for an e book.
