omg i lost this thread and forgot to find it again until now, i’ve missed it - my bank account hasn’t though
hope everyone is well xx
Glad it fits your A-Z challengeHow are you doing @ordinaryjelly xXx
Oh bless you, I hope you are well now. x,Oh gosh I experienced this first hand a few years ago. Kept being sent home by doctors and hospitals over the course of a week where it was eventually discovered I needed emergency life saving surgery. Placing ourselves in the hands of modern medicine is terrifying and yet it’s our only real choice. I don’t think I can bear to read this. It will just frighten me further. Hope you’re being looked after x
Here is the link to the Instagram account that posts the deals on 1st month: https://instagram.com/thestory.edit?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=Maybe a silly question but how did you find the deals?!?
I'm gonna have to break for this again aren't I? First the housemaid and now icebreaker, I'm too weak for this threadThank you for recommending this! I LOVED it, just finished it I give 4.58th book of the year!
No not at all, it's good. I read it as a teenager and more recently a couple of years ago after I visited the Frank museum which is excellent, they've kept a lot of her original writing and drawing on the walls in the attic. Be prepared to queue though! But back to the book, it's really just her story in her own words, the story of her growing up, the frustrations of life in the attic and how she deals with it. The epilogue is the most upsetting part because you become so engaged with Anne that finding out she died is very sad. Well worth a read. And definitely do it before you go because the museum will make so much more sense.I’m going to Amsterdam soon and thought it would be good to download Anne Frank diary but not sure if I should read it.
I grew up in Africa so we only touched on WW2 as we obviously have a lot of our own history.
What do you all think? Is it good for background history or will it be upsetting?
Just bought you're the only one i've told and added three women to the list..Yes it is. A positive outcome, if there is such a thing.
I really did enjoy the book. I might re-read it soon. I wonder if there are any books out there written and researched in a similar way. Id love to read them if so.
Edit - not directly linked but similar style? I read 'youre the only one Ive told' last month. Its written by an OBGYN who specialises in reproductive health. Each chapter was a different persons story.
Its actually v cheap on Kindle at the moment. I used an audible credit for it.

wait wait hold up.Didn't realise we were on another thread. I've decided to finish the Dirty Air Series by Lauren Asher (I love F1 and missing it lol) and read Collided over the weekend. 3/5, just felt very long winded for me in the end, a lot of unnecessary parts and toooo much slow burn, then started Wrecked last night, already a better plot 3 chapters in lol
i go back to the harry potter books every couple of years, they just feel like home and childhood to me.Going back to the comments about re-reading/listening to books, what books (if any) do you re-read? And how often?
What a load of bloody rubbish.
