Finished Carrie Soto today - not the best TJR I've read but i still enjoyed it. An easy read, but very tennis-y.

Ive a lot on my plate at the mo, and while i'd love to be able to get stuck into an epic page turner, my head just not able. Its easy reads all tge way for me for a while!

This is a little bit petty but why isn't Goodreads counting my books? I have them on there as currently reading and then read. But nothing works. I have read 32 books this year but Goodreads says I have read 0 and need to read 6.5 books a week to reach my goal.

Guys I've just got the Audible 30 day free trail and 2 credits, what books do recommend I listen too to get me going? I prefer to read books and i can imagine the setting better but willing to give anything a go asking reading so many good reviews on audiobooks!

My suggestions are always KL Slater books for Audible. They’re included so no need to use credits.

My top rated of hers are Blink, Closer, Liar, Single, The Marriage and The Silent Ones.

@OH.FFS I haven’t read that one but I’ve read See You in September and The Secrets of Strangers and liked them both. I think I’ll get it too. So much for not buying any books and reading what I already have.

I had a £30 Amazon voucher and it’s nearly all gone on .99 p books. Lol

My February consisted of Kindle or Audio books.

I had some tough reads/listens but they were my favourites - I'm glad my Mom died, Betty and Young Mungo.

I really need some lighter ones this month.

I finished Young Mungo today. Can see it being one of my favourites of the year. I think I preferred it to Shuggie Bain. Easy 5 stars

also very glad I decided to listen to the audiobook, the narrator was great and the writing was so beautiful it honestly felt like someone was reading poetry to me at points. Very excited to see what Douglas Stuart does next

Reading Happy Like Murderers which has been on my TBR for a while and I've borrowed from the library.

Aso reading So Sad Today. A collection of personal essays by Melissa Broder. She is SO WEIRD and I love it.

Can we take a second to reflect on how Melissa Broder has a new book coming out later this year and Coco Mellors (Cleopatra and Frankenstein author) has one coming out early next year? Does anyone else care? I'm excited!

I finished Betty. As previously mentioned, I found the first 3/4 a slog to get through but the last 150 pages I flew through tonight. Best part of the book imo. I’m glad I read it but I’m ready for something different now!

I've bought myself a reading journal to log books read, reviews etc. Does anyone else do this? I thought it would be quite fun to look back on at the end of the year

I use Storygraph. I'm sure it's the reason I read so much more as I'm addicted to seeing the graphs change.

I use GoodReads but now wondering if I should look into Storygraph

I’ve always used Goodreads for keeping track of what I read, mainly because it’s linked to my Kindle and I read almost exclusively on that, but I have just started using StoryGraph too based on recommendations here. I’m really linking it so far, much more interesting that just a list of books so think I’ll be sticking with it.

Like others, I love physical books but really don’t have the space, or the health for them. In our old house, that was a huge five bedroomed home with only three people living in it; me, my husband, and our son, I had the biggest library of physical books (all educational, children’s, cookery, painting, fabric making, fact or poetry books (no longer bought physical novels, all novels on kindle). But since moving to a much smaller home seven years ago I’ve dwindled my collection to two book cases (mainly health books) and everything else has been re-purchased on kindle, if available or if something I would still use. There’s nothing I’d love more than a library. However, I still think I’d want copies of them all on my kindle too; I’m just greedy.

I’m currently listening to instructions for a heatwave by Maggie. Really enjoying it. Like her writing style so will definitely add this to the list.

Have had hamnet on my list for ages too, need to bump that up too.

I also have Hamnet on my TBR pile. In fact, I have two copies as my husband bought it me for Christmas two years in a row

The kids have all had £2/£3 sat on National Book tokens for the last few months so they’ve treated me to The Perfect Wife by JP Delaney

(I do check with them beforehand if they’re happy for me just to use them up!)

My Name is Why is a good read.

It's me who adores A Tree Grows in Brooklyn. I'm a teeny bit jealous that you get to read it for the first time. It isn't an especially cheerful read, there are no unicorns and rainbows but it does show the resilience, and is about a little girl who is always trying to find the best things in life. Stick with it, even though at points it may be hard to read.

Urgh I'm in a massive slump again! Although it probably doesn't help I'm now addicted to Hogwarts Legacy maybe I need a night off and read tonight instead my local Aldi had a book stand and books were £2.99 each so i brought some that I probably don't even intend to read

Only bought a paperwhite this week for the first time, we have an apartment in Spain and I cant physically take enough books with me for 2 weeks as we only take a backpack, also I'm picky about what I want to read and the charity shops over there don't usually have what I like. So that's why I bought it but already I've got loads on unlimited and 99p deals and reading a lot more. I always used to buy physical books second hand on Amazon or in charity shops as they can be expensive.
