anna karenina is such a beautiful book. i went through a russian classics phase while at uni and that (and the brothers karamazov) was my favourite

ohh yes the brothers karamazov... and the overcoat by gogol! russian literature is amazing

Going back to the comments about re-reading/listening to books, what books (if any) do you re-read? And how often?

I’m planning on rereading The Spinster Club trilogy by Holly Bourne for the first time since 2017. However, I reread We Have Always Lived In The Castle by Shirley Jackson twice a year apart and never regretted it as it’s one of my favourite books.

I have had a really crap reading month. I feel so demotivated.

I have been the same in February too! I only finished 7 books compared to 17 in January!

I’ve had a number of 2/3* star reads this month so I hope next month is better.

Stand out for me was I Let Him Go which was heartbreaking and I listened to it all pretty much in one go. The only other 5 star was The Secrets of Strangers.

February consisted of 5 audios, 2 physical books, 6 library ebooks and 3 kindle books.

None were Unlimited and only one from my A-Z list so I’ll try and do better there for March!

I absolutely loved the Secrets of Strangers too! But so heartbreaking!

I’ve just watched A Man Called Otto (Ove) and loved it. More than I remember enjoying the book tbh. My heart aches now

I'm a bit slow on the uptake with this one, I know - but I've just had the loveliest Sunday evening with a hot water bottle (absolutely freezing here) a cup of tea, far too many chocolates and a copy of Small Things Like These, which I really enjoyed and thought was beautifully written and quietly thought provoking. I hadn't realised it was set in the weeks running up to Christmas or I'd probably have picked it up over the festive season but really liked it nonetheless and it's got me out of this months reading slump where I've not been motivated to pick up a book so far.

I've ordered Foster to see how it compares.

I think the base level GB is fine, unless you plan to listen to a lot of audiobooks on it. IIRC Amazon has a kindle comparison so you could have a look at that for more info.
I recently upgraded to a Paperwhite and absolutely love it.

8gb Paperweight. I think the 32 gb one holds 13,500 books and almost 200 audio books, is 0.8" larger screen, has wireless charging and comes in a green colour.

If you have a tbr of 13,500 then you might need to get a new username PollyPages. You would truly be one of us.

I felt exactly the same about this book. Massive mug of coffee, some biscuits and 2 hours with the house to myself I sometimes like a book that doesn't quite end where you think it should (trying to avoid spoilers here!). Would also recommend The Crimson Petal and the White by Michel Faber for a similar ending style.
