Just here to say

Does anyone here use NetGalley and know if my books will automatically be on my new Kindle? A lot of the books are archived now so I can’t request to have them sent to my Kindle again 😰
If you have the ebook file on another device or in an email then you can just send it in an email/forward it to your kindle! Check your kindle email in your settings!

I felt super bad today for V day as I'm in a long distance relationship and everything seems a little worse today. But I went thrift shopping for books and found My Year of Rest and Relaxation (Moshfegh) as well as The Idiot (Dostoyevski) and it definitely made me so much happier 💗 they say you can't buy happiness... Agree to disagree 😉

I’ve had a number of 2/3* star reads this month so I hope next month is better.

Stand out for me was I Let Him Go which was heartbreaking and I listened to it all pretty much in one go. The only other 5 star was The Secrets of Strangers.

February consisted of 5 audios, 2 physical books, 6 library ebooks and 3 kindle books.

None were Unlimited and only one from my A-Z list so I’ll try and do better there for March!

If there are a few of us (me included) that haven’t yet read The Housemaid it might be a good March book club suggestion?

Just adding my February reads! Currently riding You Had Me At Hola, but I don’t think I’ll finish today so it’s gonna go on my March list.

How many books do you guys have in your TBR collections? Just been sorting through my kindle this morning and have 133 TBR trouble is I add books when I see something I want to read and then never find enough time to read them!
I have about 600 unread on my kindle 🙈

40 unread audible titles

And probably another 100 physical tbr

Plus another 500 odd on my Amazon wishlist 🤣

I have serious issues.

I always completely dismissed Kindles and couldn’t imagine not reading proper books but I bought a Kindle Paperwhite on a whim last year (completely influenced by this thread) and I am obsessed with it! I ALWAYS have it in dark mode with the brightness right down (usually between 4-6 out of a possible 25) and I love it. I find most screens too bright and I’m forever turning the brightness down on my phone but the dark mode on the Kindle makes it so much more accessible. Can totally recommend.

I always loved the idea of having a library in my house and built up quite a collection of books. Nowadays I probably only have about 15 paperbacks (though what feels like about 1000 picture books in my son’s room) as I just use my Kindle. I feel so less cluttered and have actually read so much more in the last couple years since I moved to a Kindle than I ever have!
Same I resisted for years and then got an amazon fire. I now love it. One of my favourite features is the fact that I can look up words I don't know.

I still love to read an actual book but when I do I'm always miffed that I can't look up a word instantly 😆

Hello all ! 👋🏼

I’ve been lurking on here for a while and wanted to drop in and say hi . I’ve recently been picking up books again after a year where I read 1 book (I did have a baby and a toddler so forgive me !) and I’ve been unwell with a stomach bug the last few days and honestly reading is all that’s kept me sane . I thought I’d drop in here for recommendations .

My most recent reads have been the I Am Lucy Barton series , I read all three of those in quick succession . My husband bought me a kindle for my birthday and I’ve been loving it , especially if I’m awake and he’s asleep I can read without disturbing him with a light . I’ve just finished Lucy By The Sea and I’m looking for recommendations of books of a similar ilk - character-driven , relationship-driven , well written and thought Provoking . Grateful for your recs ! Assume I’ve read nothing recent

I have some audible questions … I think I may get more “reading” done if I have audio books as an option . Just to have on while I clean the house , sort the washing out , go on walks with the buggy while my son is at nursery , etc . It’s £9.99 a month … do you just get one credit for that ? Is there a way to get more credits , or pay for books individually ? £9.99 seems a lot for just one book a month !

Still going with Maybe In Another Life by TJR. Wearing hair in a high bun and being chaotic and messy is like 90% of the main characters personality. And "omg would you think bad of me if I ate TWO cinnamon buns even though I'm a girl" *eyes roll to back of head*

Still intrigued to what happens in the parallel timelines though 😂
✍ adds to list of books to never read

I love how active this thread has become.

since finishing Boys Don't Cry (which I really recommend) yesterday I haven't picked up a new book, still feeling a bit hung up over that one. Might go for a fast paced thrilled next to change it up a bit. -The Puppet Show by M.W. Craven. Has anyone read that one?

I put my headphones in at work this morning and listened to my first audiobook! It was TJR - Evidence of an Affair, it was only an hour and 15 so kept my attention whist also doing some reports lol. It was short and sweet, heartbreaking in some areas yet the ending was heart warming. A lot of emotions for an hour!

Storming through The Housemaid. It's SO GOOD but at the same time also sort of shit. I love it!

Picked up Untamed by Glennon Doyle from the library. Has anyone read it?

Also got a Harriet Tyce book from the charity shop. I loved Blood Orange and picked up It Ends at Midnight. Anyone read this one?

Please text back x x x

Guys, I tried watching Daisy Jones & The Six but it just kept reminding of Almost Famous. So I downloaded Almost Famous and watched that instead 😆

I am really ashamed when I check my online banking and see all the 99p payments to Amazon 🤣

Finished The Housemaid yesterday. It was ok, preferred the start to the ending.

Have made a start with A Little Life. Only 2% in so a very long way to go!
Tell me about it! Those 99p buys don’t feel like so much of a bargains when your realise there are 70+ of them sitting unread on your Kindle! 😂

Does anyone else get really annoyed with editing errors? 🙈 Like surely the editors read the chapters more than once to make sure they haven't missed anything - but they still do. I've seen whole paragraphs repeated, names becoming interchangeable (Mrs Brown became Mrs Green for a whole page before going back to Mrs Brown 🙈), obvious spelling mistakes and now, and this has infuriated me, I'm reading a book that's split into four different POVs. The first is the main character and the second is a secondary character who meets the main character but doesn't yet know her name. She calls her Godkiller and Veiga (interchangeably) but then the character will have dialogue and it will have "(characters name) said" but the pov character doesn't know her name yet! Maybe I'm being picky but it's soooo annoying.

Currently in work looking forward to racing home later to read Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine 🤣 I've definitely got my love of reading back.

Rebecca is also one of my favourite classics.
