I think coaran and Denise Kenny need to be made aware of all this seen as they set up this go fund me, they are part of all this and by setting it up they have also scammed everyone just like shannen. I remember at the time she kept sharing and as more money was being raised she exaggerated it was she might need to travel abroad 5o get treatment she knew she was never travelling anywhere

How do you know that? I used to follow Liz but following that page I never would have thought it was Liz, Liz seems all over the place she would have outed herself

And if I’m wrong correct me is she working for a private health care insurance company 🤯🤔 so every treatment was covered anyway
Yes, the gfm was to cover living expenses etc...the original target was €10k and once it passed 10k she was on saying she may need to "explore other treatment options overseas" but that was never the case, the already had a treatment plan in place and all covered here.....she said then that the money was being used to pay for rent in Dublin but turns out the hse supplied accomodation for them...then the new car was bought to make the journeys to Dublin easier....but her dad took her to all her appointments or she got the train which she still does......it's like lie after lie after lie

I remember Kieran Corrigan donated around 1k if I remember correctly. I’d say he’s raging now!

@Missymeister don't waste space in your brain now on this parasite.
That money will never bring her good luck. All the cars, houses and nails in the world will mean nothing when things start going wrong for her, be it her relationship, herself and her daughters relationship, her parents, her health....she won't escape, it come back to bite her in some form or other.
As those who live in the area have said, she's not liked in Youghal, and she doesn't realise that while she may have a neck like brass, her young daughter will eventually be in school as a teen and will only be known as the girl who has a mother who stole €170k.
Exactly all of this 🙌🏼 It’s a long road…

It seems to just mention easing financial pressure in the original part and that was written by someone else who set up the GFM page. If I’m reading it right she only mentioned future treatments after the GFM had been closed so I don’t think you could argue that that is what people were told in advance of donating. Her story probably will make some people less willing to donate to other fundraisers in the future but I think if you donate then it’s their money really and you can disagree with how they use it but there’s not much you can do about it, just be more cautious going forward. Unless they do explicitly state a purpose initially and then it’s not used for that and maybe there is some way to take it up with GFM. I think messaging her directly is a bit much tbh. If you are going to donate I’d consider that money gone once you do. Only donate what you can comfortably afford to lose. It looks bad for herself if she has misused the funds but I wouldn’t be letting it get to me, it’s her money now and lesson learned for anyone who feels misled.
I can see some of that you’re saying. But I think it raises a pertinent question about GFMWhile I agree that the recipient of the funds raised has no technical or legal obligation to account for or prove exactly how it’s used ; it’s a charitable funding site and the money is donated on a good faith basis that the person is genuinely in need of this sum for a particular reason. There is always an opportunity for people to abuse and profit from it and that is of course the risk you take if you choose to donate to a fund. So you could of course say that once you’ve donated , given that you’ve done so on a voluntary , good faith basis, the money is no longer yours to decide how or where it’s spent and nor does the recipient have an by obligation to provide you with that information.
However!
There are a number of issues in this case that have raised concerns and eyebrows. For starters it’s the fact that as said, the sum initially targeted was 10K, and this was met quite quickly and exceeded quite quickly while Shannen herself and others continued to promote and share the fundraiser finally going 10x the the initial aim. Legally yes , it was still on a voluntary , charitable basis that people knowingly donated to seeing the target already exceeded but there is no doubt that her rapidly growing “insta status” massively contributed towards this acceleration of her fund and so can be deduced that quite a number of her followers / fans etc were central in raising that amount.
Which leads to the second issue : given her insta status and her followers’ genuine interest and well wishing concern , they then remained on the scene and were keen to follow her (thankfully successful) journey and see that they had helped. i.e they were *invested*, quite literally, in her cause. She seems to have forgotten this fact and has imo mismanaged her insta notoriety.
The car became the next issue ; sure it could be taken at face value that given they were travelling up and down to Dublin they needed a reliable car, and she explained it thus in one of her stories. But she also decided to show her followers new jewellery, weekend / hotel breaks away / clothing hauls etc which was perhaps poor thinking right off the back of a massive fundraiser.
She then began to receive a couple of messages - I don’t think it’s unreasonable tbh that followers did ask - about how the remaining funds would be used. Yes she doesn’t HAVE to answer - but she has to remember this was money given to her in CHARITY. She didn’t need treatment abroad, she made a full recovery in the public health system and is (again thankfully) in remission a year on. Morally , a charitable donation or gesture or acknowledgment of the cancer services who helped her, the followers who donated to her, and a willingness to help others in similar situations *should* be what’s on her mind. It would also just make sense given that she’s desperately trying to make it as an instagrammer. So if it isn’t something she naturally or morally wants to do, maybe her management or PR need to advise her on a strategy.
If she wasn’t trying to continue her insta fame and career - remember her whole insta profile was originally to provide “awareness” about cancer and as support for other patients - she would have slid off the radar and noone would be talking about her fund. She has now changed tack and decided to become an influencer. And with that comes a downside of being under continued public scrutiny and needing to maintain good PR. Becoming defensive, refusing to talk about it, being bitchy and lashing out like in those messages above does NOT sit well, damaged her precious insta image and is a slap in the face to the same followers from which she’s trying to make a career and even MORE earnings.

Oh the lack of sleep with young kids is tough ..affects every part of you...

Here's to tinagp getting a bit more sleep than normal 🥳🥳🥳😪💛💛💛💛💛
I was off today and we had a great time, I think I just miss them when I’m working and then the tiredness from working just gets to me. We didn’t get up to much today,we went to the park and had a run around and lots of fun ❤
@Missymeister I agree with what most people have said here already, you don’t have to explain anything to anyone❤ We are all here for you ❤ Don’t let that horrible human or anyone upset you, they’re not worth it. I’m hoping the net is closing in on her.I am delighted that tea spill posted that,it doesn’t take a genius to work out who they’re speaking about and I hope loads of people read it!

I’m just quoting a small bit of your post to reply in the interests of space as it’s quite long.

I never said what she was doing was right I just said I’m not surprised and that if you went to GFM to raise a concern then you’d probably need more than the screenshots that were posted.

I donate regularly to GFMs, especially anything for a sick child, breaks my heart and I almost never tap past them. Or for a parent who has a young child. I have a 3 year old and the thought of her needing a GFM, or me leaving her, is more than I can even let my mind go to. But if I see the fund has reached target then I think twice. It would be a decent gesture to pass on some of the funds to another cause just like the parents of the little boy Dan did when it became apparent that he was not going to be eligible for the treatment they had fundraised for. I donated over €250 to that fund and it got passed on to other funds. Made no difference to me, the money had left my bank account.

But it is her money now and if she chooses to keep it there is nothing really that can be done about it. I don’t think anyone would take kindly to getting direct messages from strangers asking them about their finances. But whatever happens I don’t think people should be getting themselves stressed about it (except maybe Richie Corrigan if he gave her a grand 🙊). It’s very bad PR for her though.

The moneies raised weren't used as allegedly intended I would think that is basis enough for a report to gfm 🤷 Noone on here expected her to give the money back , people wanted it to be used as they had been led to believe and invest it in other charities . I would say most people on here don't actually follow her to be honest , there are other ways to view stories without engaging with her page .

Exactly. The ONLY money that could have been used as originally stated was the first €10,000. The other €160,000 plus could NEVER have been planned for as it was surplus. Some of what she has said recently as far as using some of the money doesn’t really make sense: having tests to find out why she has relapsed and to prevent another- why the wait? However, people saw the amount rising well over the original target and kept donating anyway. At some point during that process when the GFM was still open, there should have been a statement from the person who set it up to justify allowing it to go on. My money is on Shannon seeing Euro signs and now doesn’t really intend on paying it forward, which is the only decent thing to do.

Just an update……she has been in contact with Tea Spill and she did admit being wrong sending me the messages but said that the money is hers and she will not be explaining to anyone what it’s being used for……and the messages are being manipulated. Tea Spill advised her to speak honestly about it and it will stop the talk……Tea Spill also said she got a flood of DMs supporting me 💕💕

I do not claim to be a doctor but I believe the test for chance /reason for relapse is a simple blood test. So again, not costing €170,000.

And I don’t mean to be insensitive, but finding out why she relapses is not going to improve her prognosis. If she relapses, unfortunately it’s not a good thing, and knowing why she is prone to relapse gets her nowhere. It’s not as though they can take preventative measures. If they had a way to prevent/minimise relapse they would use this method on everyone in her position. The best answer for her was transplant, and she’s had that.
So even if it did cost €170,000, it would be a waste of money because it doesn’t help her in any way except from a curiosity/interest point of view.
I note this was never mentioned until this year.
For the record, I hope she continues to get positive news, but I don’t believe in this smoke and mirrors method of dealing with queries.
If she feels, as it has been said above here tonight, that it’s her money and she’s not gonna explain it to anyone, then maybe she should come out and say that and be done with it rather than all this ‘if you want to know, DM me’ and then blocking anyone who asks.
She needs to be straight even if it is an unpopular position to take.

Yeah your right I’m too emotional and physically unwell the past few days from treatment too. I’m so grateful more than you will know for all the support from everyone here……I need to focus on myself 💕💕
You did not out her she outed herself, her response of “please do not harm my career” is part of the same manipulative facet of her personality that got her into the situation she has found herself in. I think we can all agree it is not one we envy, she was in a horrible situation at one stage but thank god she is well and it up to her now how she uses her GFM and platform to market herself.
The dilemma she’s in I don’t believe was intentional but the situation she’s facing now is her own doing and if anything is to come of this at all it will be that she sees sense and donates the rest of the money to people like yourself who deserve all care and love. I wish I could send you something, a massage voucher or comforting candle, a justeat voucher for the rest of the year to make anything easier for you.
Things play out for a reason and your courage to confront her and share your messages will help her in the long run to become a better person (I only hope!) the world needs more women like yourself to stand up and show accountability and dignity ❤❤I do believe that she will finally learn from this and I hope it will inspire her to help others and donate what she can to others in your situation. You’ve taught kindness, the true meaning of the #bekind movement. As she said but in a much different way, god love you and know this thread is behind you all the way ❤❤

The dilemma and the situation she is in are of her doing- no one else. She tagged the GFM every day. She laid out her reasons for needing €10,000. She kept it going. The behaviour I see from her is extremely manipulative and dangerous. She would not ask someone to not harm her career if she didn’t know what she had done. I think she saw a good thing and ran with it. I don’t know if the baby onesie thing was invented or not. I don’t know if the episodes of anxiety are real or not. What I do know is the impression she gives me and it is one of greed and manipulation. It is distasteful to me to see someone trying to profit and make a career from cancer, even if was her own.
