She’s also still in a cot.
So she is keen on Rosie being independent…. As long as it suits her agenda then.
I mean, I don’t think she’s overly old to still be in a cot (not that I’m a good judge - cot haters in my house) but seems like wanting to promote her independence would stretch to her being able to move freely round her home.

in the last week or so she has put question boxes up a few times saying she’ll answer the questions later. She never does…so I’m assuming she isn’t getting any?

I feel she comes across very rude and controlling in her stories. I don’t find it at all surprising she admits to having very few friends and doesn’t speak to any of her family. I remember her saying she and R had recently spent time with her sister who was visiting from the Netherlands but she doesn’t speak to any other family members and considers herself to not have any family! Will seems to take R to see his parents most weekends whilst she “works” and “cleans the house”. I wonder if there is also tension between Emma and Will’s parents as she always seems too busy to visit. Or whether he insists she stays at home so he and R can watch the TV 🤪
Guarantee you Will takes her to the grandparents and she watches cocomelon.

I recall Rosie went through a big stage of rejecting Emma and preferring her Dad and that’s probably why

Am I the only person who doesn't get the whole obsession with Costa? So many people seem to be obsessed with it. Their coffee is pretty average and food selection is pretty generic. I only like their black forest got chocs and the fact they have a drive through so I can get a sneaky coffee when my toddler is asleep in the car. Maybe I'm spoiled as where I live there are so many independent coffee places that have a personality?!
I don’t understand why so many instagram mums think a Costa “date” is a day out for kids. Loads of them always seem to be there with their kids. Take them to the park, or swimming, or honestly almost anything but how is constantly going out for a coffee - which they don’t drink - in anyway fun?!

Its all for attention. To show everyone how Rosie just sits and chats while they enjoy a Costa and a snack.
My boy would sit until his snack is consumed then attempt to escape from his seat or make cockerel noises (his new fav). Probably climb on the table and spill my coffee 🤪

When mine was a baby then Costa was pretty good. Low background noise to keep him sleeping whilst I sat enjoying some peace om my own or chatted to a friend

Writing that actually reminded me of when I took my oldest to a baby and toddler sing-along

There were way more babies than toddlers. All asleep or just sittitwith their mum happy and looking around and cooing. The toddlers were ferrel. There was a long table with instruments on covered in a table cloth. They all proceeded to grab all the instruments, hide under the table cloth giggling, run around like the lunatics they are. All to the shock of the other mums tutting and judging

Love how Rosie picked out am actual brightly coloured tat toy from Santas grotto and it’s now her favourite - must be a nice change to have something silly and colourful rather than peg dolls etc.

Very true. She’s quite the over sharer.
And even that story still seemed like a humble brag that her 2 year old could speak like that
Its all for validation. So people like and comment to make her feel good as she doesn't get that interaction from people in her life. Its really sad

It made me think, as I'm sure she would be braggy about it. If R can communicate so well, how's potty training going?! I have friends with kids a similar or even younger than R and they don't speak as well but their potty training is well under way.
Not so humble brag.... My boys speach is average for his age, he's just turned 2. He says he needs to poop and wee. Sometimes when getting undressed for the bath he will say his name then 'wee wee' and does it in the potty!
We are no way potty training for a loooooong time but it's great that he knows :)

Now she’s on the beg for a Tripp Trapp highchair and sharing the stickers she has given R during dinner because she has used the toilet/potty. Very strange how she has never mentioned anything about the toilet/potty before. If R has been given most of those stickers during dinner she really isn't anywhere near toilet trained. Sadly for Emma toilet training can’t be mastered by rote learning so she’s a bit stuck on what to do. You can tell from the activities and methods she uses with R - she is the most uninspiring and boring EYFS teacher.

Totally agree, Costa is there as somewhere to bribe them to sit still with a babyccino for 5 minutes while you recharge for the rest of your day!

Ok I gotta fess up here - we don’t have a TV either and our kids get no screen time at home. They watch stuff at my parents once a week and that’s it. But we got rid of our TV as we never watched it (we just watch our iPads in the evenings)
You’re actually superwoman 😂 you have 4 to entertain! I can barely manage to entertain one

I thought she'd have a Montessori floor bed set up in her room which is fantastic for independence.
Also odd she is still in highchair with tray.
Yes, even when we’ve still had little ones in high chairs after that initial crazy weaning phase we take the tray off and bring their chair up to the table. Really babying her in some ways, and forcing her to be older than needed in others. Very odd.

People think we are really odd, so I rarely mention it, and generally people do see it as a humble brag kinda thing, which it absolutely never is!

Ah but see the 4 entertain each other, one is harder work. You need more kids 🤣
I keep telling mr Waka this! I’ve drawn so many ducks and sang row row your boat so many times I nearly drove to my brothers so she could play with her cousins at 5pm 🤣
