Is it good that his announced 2023 plans are full of baseball content when it's in dead last place?

Jeez, I'd select "none of the above". What about showcasing all the offbeat quirky attractions across the country? Y'know, the stuff he originally based his channel on?

I guess his fans really eat up his "ruin porn" backroads content. Well, it sounds like I'll be skipping a lot more of his videos than I watch going into 2023... of course, if he sticks to his plans as well as he has in the past then who knows what he might bumble into.

I quickly skipped through today's "Walk/Bike 'N Talk" video. He's been stung by the criticism over the past year of his content choices - so much that he has declared he won't make any proclamations anymore, like the infamous "I'm cutting way back on Disney content", or whatever. He says he's just going to do what he wants to do, and that's that. Of course, he also conducts and shows the Facebook poll on his broken phone screen because he's very curious what content people like and what they don't like...but why, if he's just going to do what he wants to do?

Anyway, the one big thing I took from today's vlog is once again how awful his footage looks. I don't mean shot content, or framing, or anything like that. The literal video quality is awful. His regular footage with the Canon G7 that he needs to re-buy every 3 months looks bad for 1080p, it's awful in anything but sunny mid-day skies. And the Go-Pro footage he has in today's blog looks like it's about 720p quality. Terrible, like he went in and chose the worst quality possible in the GoPro menus. Maybe he's trying to match awful quality with awful quality for consistency's sake.

I wonder how long he'll continue to refuse to move to 4K because of the additional size of the files, the extra time it takes to process them when editing and the extra time it takes to upload them? Then again his 4K footage will probably look worse than the average 4K footage. I know he's never been a stickler for video quality but in 2023 for any fan who watches 4K content regularly on YouTube has to notice how bad Adam's 1080p looks.

He's addicted to the attention -- either positive or negative. He loves his fans fawning over everything he does, but he also clearly gets a thrill out of arguing with those who don't like what he does or who have the nerve to disagree with him. I'm sure he just eats it up when he takes a day off making videos and finds the "Oh pleeeaaaase come back, Adam!" comments and the "You SO deserve a BREAK because you work SO HARD!" comments. And on a few occasions, he's responded with a little "You'll miss me when I'm gone" whenever anyone has any constructive criticism for him. Basically, he's happy if people are talking about him, and that's why eventually "quitting" YouTube will be so difficult for him. Even if he's set for life financially, he'll find that something will be missing when his brain stops getting the little dopamine hit from likes and comments on his videos. It's an interesting quandary. I know a lot of retirees face a bit of an existential crisis when they stop working, but it's generally not too hard to find something else meaningful to fill that void. I think Adam is finding that he loves the fame of being a minor celebrity more than he enjoys riding Space Mountain or looking at faded Coca-Cola advertisements or even talking to the squirrels. That might be hard for him to give up.

100% correct. Even when he takes a "break" he ends up publishing a lot of videos, and he says it's because he can't sit still but those two things are mostly unrelated. It's because he loves the attention (he was touting how his poll "blew up" because so many people voted in it) and the only way he can get it is if he puts out videos. Maybe he's assuming he will slow down in a few years, but I don't see it. He's fooling himself, just like when he constantly claims to be spontaneous and he never knows what he will do next, and then does the same 5 things ad nauseum.

It looks like someone lacking artistic skill doodled all over his arm with a Sharpie

Agreed! They did look scrumptious. At least he ate them! His momma started freaking out and refused to eat the fritters. That was truly sad, but more for Adam I guess!
