Note the random picture of prep school kids in her 'University space' 🙄
Wtf does this picture have to do with a 21 yo in uni? Why is she so obsessed with school-aged children?
Ruby, your boarding school fantasy is getting super fucking creepy and insane. You're an adult. No matter how hard you close your eyes and think of Hogwarts, you'll be an adult for the rest of your life. Better accept that.

I need you to come over and do this to my life because, whilst this was hilarious, it's actually useful and I really hope Ruby takes it on board
Please enroll in my summer life-coaching camp. Use the offer code "tattle50" for 50% off your first session.

Includes such fantastic life advice as "don't wear clothes from the 19th Century unless it's Halloween," "don't shop online while drunk unless you really like surprise deliveries you don't recall paying for," and "sometimes it's okay to fake your death to get a day off work, and when you reappear alive and well the next day, it'll restore your workmates' belief in magic and miracles. Try to parlay this into a second Easter holiday in your honour - when Jesus died and returned from the grave, we got two bank holidays. Adjusted for inflation, someone returning from the dead in 2021 merits at least six days off."

i feel like its time we let our ropes lose a little bit, We doubted she would get a first in her bachelors because she is "so dumb", she ended up getting a first. Last 9 months on this forum has been how she will fuck up her Masters, she got a distinction. The bar is not on the ground, maybe she is horrible in many other ways but maybe we should finally consider that she is academically smart and knows how to play the ground.

Ruby’s current glasses make me sad. I don’t want to crap on anyone’s fashion choices but they remind me so much of the NHS frames I had to have as a child because my mum couldn’t afford the nicer ones. I was teased horribly and I can’t get behind this current trend of old-fashioned NHS/Deirdre Barlow specs at all, I really struggle to see how they’re fashionable and they just give me flashbacks to school whenever I see anyone wearing them. Ruby had some lovely coppery/gold frames a while back that really suited her colouring and she looked really nice in them.
me, reading your comment, as I’m wearing clear frame glasses just like hers 😭😂

That she's missing getting to her library because they're closed due to covid, that libraries are a ~gift~ and we should be aware of our privilege having access to public libraries. That they are the best way of consuming literature and mean you can read for free and don't have to compromise on having the physical book. Then she urges us to make use of our local library when they open up again so they can stay open.
i mean.......... she’s not wrong?

For anyone who hasn't trudged through the agony of book two of Homer's Iliad, it is the catalogue of ships. It is what it sounds like, a big dull list of who gave what ships for the war.

I have never in my life heard of someone being excited to read that part, it is notoriously dull. Of course, you'd have to actually read it to know that...

As usual '#gifted' is very hard to read.

I can't wait for a productive day in London/daily university vlog

Speed up scene of the train showing a book and snack bar.
Brunch in London and tea obviously
Then we went to a art gallery
There's something about a art gallery that just brings the art to life I could honestly send hours just looking around and getting a feel for the paintings.
We then went for a picnic in the park and obviously we read whilst we were there.
We then went to a cosy little tea room for more tea and slice of cake I just asked for the crumbs on the plate.
See you soon
Have a productive day/week/term

tried going on a walk with a book to read to see how ruby does it.

first off, I couldn't read and walk. there was mud everywhere and it was super slippery. then, once sat on a bench (which was soaking), i could not relax. it was freezing... and dogs kept running up to me.

i can read in a park when its warm weather and I'm comfortably sat, but in the cold weather on a walk i don't know how she does it.
the secret is...she doesn’t. It’s all for show👍

This chapter is mainly an insight into the toxic family dynamic at play: Golden Child/Black Sheep.

Dinner is ready and Erimentha goes upstairs. Nathan is in his room playing Lego and has almost finished making a police station. That's impressive for a 9 year old, I bet he has made a holding cell for his family.

When he comes down, their mum makes a big show of him coming to the table on time, claps and pulls out the chair for him. In years to come, Nathan will recount his story to a therapist and be encouraged to write the letter to his estranged family that he'll never send.

He slurps his soup, which to Erimentha is as disgusteng as Scottish children not flushing the toilet. Erimentha doesn't tell him off though, she doesn't have the heart and 'he's not this rude when we eat out' - except Erimentha, YOU ARE NOT THE PARENT HERE. In her determination to be precocious, she is actually pretty obnoxious.

I come from Exeter and the photos of her on the roman ruins in her latest instagram post is renowned as a place where drug addicts go to shoot up. Its also where my best mate lost her virginity and i find it so funny that shes painting it as dark academia aesthetic.

Call me cynical, but I imagine Ruby's management have advised her to start sending out free stuff to improve her image. She's losing traction and her fans are increasingly calling her out for her problematic behaviour.

tw for a rambly eating disorder discussion

i feel like ruby’s disordered eating habits seems quite contrived, like she’s renacting all the things she read about in those books on fasting and anorexic women. it seems a little bit “put on” and unnatural. if i didn’t know she’d been studying eating disorders in her goodreads i would be 100% concerned, at the moment i’m like 60% concerned..... the casual chopsticks thing seems to be like an added flourish? if you know what i mean. i hope she understands that eating disorders are not an aesthetic because it’s starting to become frustrating that the more we comment in concern at her meals, the more she seems to push it when eating disorders are mortifyingly private.

Just coming in to thank everyone who has been putting spoilers over ruby’s food and Ed discussions. It means I can enjoy my morning coffee and tattle read without getting too triggered.

Seriously appreciate it and it actually does make a difference in terms of how safely I can pop on here and read!!!

Holy hell, she really was unable to form a full sentence. It was like listening to three people all trying to sound smarter than each other, and someone’s kid sister who had been asked to sit in the corner and listen, but who couldn’t help interrupting and everyone just kind of indulged her. I particularly enjoyed the example she gave of ”so you know um like sometimes when you um light a candle and except you know um you know you’re not going to get anything done”. We know, Roobee. We know. Why don’t you go back to highlighting your to-do list and let the grownups talk.
Eve set the bar so low with her terrible analogies and repetitive rambling that I'm shocked even Ruby managed to limbo lower than her.

Eve: "Being reactive is like being a rocking horse, because you go nowhere, but being proactive is like being a racing stallion."

Umm...what? That makes absolutely zero sense. Being reactive doesn't mean going nowhere, it means only taking action when prompted. And racehorses take direction from their jockey, how is that proactive? That's reactive. I'm starting to think it's a requirement for studytubers to be completely braindead.

Eve: "Being productive is like being a mechanical rabbit, because they eat carrots made of aluminium, but being unproductive is being like a hot air balloon in a cornfield."
Jack: "Oh my god, that's such a great analogy!"
Jade: "So great, high fives everyone!"
Ruby: "The ancient Greeks once said that, well...um...haha...uhh...I can't remember, but they said something! I remember seeing a TED talk that presupposed that memories are like turnips that float wildly on the breeze, so I productivity most goodest."
Jade: "Yes gahl, you slayed that sentence. You're a wise queen."
Ruby: "Thanks, I know."

Martha keeping up the dice even though they make her mom sick has the same energy of Clare and Ruby making almond cake for every single family occasion even though Martha doesn't like it
