A Little Life is life (as in the best book of all time) and the idea that she might "read" it and have an "opinion" on it terrifies me to no end
A sneak preview of her future review video:

allcry.jpg

"I was quite disappointed because I assumed from the title 'A Little Life' that it was about a small child but it was ackshually about grownups. But even though there were no characters like me, it's still a VARRY important book that covers many topics. GENUINELY one of my most favourite books of all time. 5/5"

99.63% of the video will be Ruby frolicking in fields and timelapse footage of a clock ticking while she sends numerous emails to lecturers.

Someone on Twitter commented that they want a Hunger Games style dystopia, only with StudyTubers who are forced together on an island without their schedules ⚰

Ruby announced at the end of her live that she's taking a year out after she graduates and will be applying for masters courses for 2023 entry. She said that her preferred masters course doesn't accept deferred applications (Oxford I guess?). She was pretty vague about what she will actually be doing during the year she's not studying, but did say she would continue making content.

There's no chapter 10 in the book, so we're ploughing ahead.

After making a volcano model together and being one of her only friends, Erimnetha decides to avoid Simone for the whole week, and hangs out with a new person, Melody.

There's a girl in Year 5 hanging out in a quiet room and Erimentha notes how short she is compared with Nathan.

Erimentha presents her extra work on hurricanes. Afterwards, Kimberly taps her on the forearm and Erimentha notices her fingers are cold - she assumes this is because of poor circulation due to lack of exercise. Girl, who asked you?!

The other girls start throwing stuff, she goes to the bathroom, drinks some water wondering how much water it would take to kill a person and that she'll look it up [Ed: I can't make this funny, sorry]

Miss Soloman leaves the room and someone has sabotaged Erimentha's fountain pen, ink everywhere, much mess. Kimberly's eyes are pale and cold again, maybe this is how she shapeshifts. Miss Soloman returns, asks what has happened, she has bought an orange with her (is this supposed to be a visual warning, the same way Francis Ford Coppola did in the Godfather series?). Miss Soloman tells Erimentha to clean it up, Erimentha cries.

Sorry this is off topic but I was just rewatching one of her videos from a couple of weeks ago and I'm not sure if anyone else noticed this but look at the question she want to explore in her assessment for her Victorian module!

"Examine how two texts explore starvation, food, or eating."

This is such a huge red flag. I know there's been speculations about Ruby potentially having an ed or at least disordered eating behaviours and I'm genuinely worried now. Ed's are obsessions and it's clear she's a bit obsessive about food/eating, even if she's using the Victorian era as an excuse.

I worry she's just going to make herself sicker. We can criticize her as much as we want but at the end of the day she is a bright young women who deserves to be the best and healthiest version of herself. I just hope she gets help before it's too late.

Literally dying at her suggestions about the first day of school. For Christ's sake, Ruby, you're 21. Wtf are you doing "making sure you come home by 4 to pack your bag"? Does she think people her age spend the day cycling around fields and playgrounds with their friends like it's Stand By Me and they have to be home by dinner? Then a bath and straight to bed?
Like I don't want to act like I'm the most mature and well-adjusted 22-year-old on Earth but the day before my classes start I'm gonna be shopping at Ikea with my boyfriend who's moving in with me. I don't know a single person my age who would even fathom being home at 4 so they can start packing their bag for their first day of school. A 6 year old would not get as excited for the first day of school. It's sad.

I think we’re definitely going the right way about getting Ruby to stop reading this thread with all the daddy chat 😂I hope some of you get your eye tests soon.

Everyone was right at the ‘re-investing’ instead of ‘donating’.
Wow. This is all so unnecessary. There are charities whose exact job is to educate kids on the Holocaust by taking them on trips, arranging events, etc. How about she donates to one of those instead of half-assing something herself? Is it because she wouldn't be able to take any credit for it or profit in any way or get visibility?
I'm sorry but this whole thing is extremely suspicious.

I’m gonna stop worrying about RooBee having an ED. Instead, I’m gonna just call it out for what it is - attention-seeking. Look at my eye bags! Look at my collar bones! Look at my tiny portions! Boo hoo I slept really badly! Boo hoo I feel the cold so easily! My two interests apart from veganism and researching how-to books about anorexia are Victorian children and the Holocaust, because they deal with people being super skinny!

...I mean really, does this not sum it up pretty well?

What is it with Ruby just posting the weirdest photos? This looks like she's mourning her dead dog near some rusty garden furniture guaranteed to give tetanus to all who use it.

(Don't worry, the dog's alive and well, and the family have chosen to dye one or both of the dogs' fur purple to match Martha's hair for some reason like a bunch of fuckwits.)

Screenshot_20210726-092149_Chrome.jpg

It doesn't matter if it's animal safe dye, Martha. The dog benefits nothing from this, you're just using the poor old thing like a fashion accessory, you self-indulgent clown.

Don't the poor dogs have enough to deal with dodging death and disease in that house full of biohazardous squalor and dangerous piles of random rusty crap without being subjected to your family fashion experiments?

(Looong time lurker here)
The hilarious review of Ruby's book made me dig mine out and re read it. The snobbishness of Erimentha is unbearable o_O I've complied some of my favourite extracts that are too good to not share. It's obvious Ruby has a fantasy of being some kind of child prodigy - it really does read like fan fiction of herself. I think she is trying to live out this fantasy in her real life and trying to avoid growing up and realising she is of average intelligence.
Also a long time lurker here - I work in libraries and honestly you’re a terrible person if you’re disparaging books purely because they’re teen pink sparkly books. If you’re reading Ruby’s book and also enjoy books like this, this could really affect you. I think it’s a form of mild internalised misogyny that just because something is pink and aimed at young girls it must be bad and not worth your time, you stuck up snob (mostly referring to Erimentha here)

God, what a dull and crappy video. She has the innate ability to take a trip to somewhere new and potentially interesting and make it look like the most profoundly boring place on Earth.

The interesting things to see - what happened on the writing retreat, what the structure was like, what kind of people attended and what, if anything, was taught - are completely absent. There's no footage of anyone else and no evidence that she wasn't just alone and bored in a cottage for a week. It's the same old shit. She joylessly stares into space while tapping away at a keyboard. She performatively sets up a camera just to film herself walking away from it. She wanders a garden, trying (and failing) to look like the human embodiment of carefree whimsy as she grimaces away.

This video about a writing retreat contains practically no discussion of writing or the writing retreat. 95% of this video is Ruby in her bedroom giving a meandering, insincere ramble about mindful productivity.

She blathers for half the video about the power of SPYACE and the joy of LAARNING for the sake of LAAAAHRNINGGG, despite never having learned a thing herself. Case in point: Yet again, she includes footage of wind blasting the camera mic. Nothing is being said in this footage and she's overlaid music anyway, so there was no reason not to mute the source footage of wind slamming the mic, other than laziness and incompetence. She still hasn't learned how to improve at anything whatsoever, in all the years she's been alive.

She claims she's learned to use social media more mindfully now. We've heard this countless times from her and yet nothing ever changes. It's still the same bullshit: Lies to try to make herself feel and seem important or special, undeclared ads and pictures of her bedroom window are all she posts on social media. The vast majority of her videos are the exact same shit: An enlightened declaration that she's learned something or improved somehow and can now enlighten you, in turn, despite her content and her life being the same joyless, brainless, talentless assembly line of dishonesty and stupidity.

"The DADLOINES we SAT fwore oursalves are yeeshually IMAGINARY."

Yes, for you especially, Ruby. You have no writing deadlines. You have no responsibilities. This trip offered nothing that you didn't have already.

I posted this comparison of Ruby at home and Ruby on the retreat in the last thread:

56756 - Copy.jpg

And now she's confirmed that she paid to take the writer's retreat in Devon, where her parents own two cottages that she could've stayed in for free.

The cottage she paid to stay in, vs. one of the two cottages her parents own:

67678678.jpg

She blew £600-1000 on this performative trip to learn nothing and get nothing that she didn't already have for free. This wasn't some revelatory change of lifestyle and scenery. This was the same old shit in which nothing new was experienced. At least someone else profited from her stupidity this time.

It also wouldn't shock me if Ruby made her parents go to Devon to stay round the corner, like she did for the bulk of her time at Exeter.
