Hope y'all are well.

Just wondered if any of you have investigated the quality of Ruby's products? (other than that self-insert book lmao). I don't know if this is a trend or just me being neglectful with my stuff, but I've had her academic planner since September, and it's now falling to pieces.

The rings binding it are splitting apart and the back cover has fallen off. (Shown in the second photo). The front cover starting to do the same and I keep having to push it back on (all the while Ruby's letter about this being a 'perfect planner' laughs at me as it's exposed).

I'm pretty much just an average college (UK college) student who keeps it in my rucksack. I don't throw it against walls, no matter how much I'm tempted to (e.g. One of the calendars was dated wrong and it really set me off when remembering how much the planner was.

Anyways, anyone else heard of similar problems? I mean none of this as a personal attack on Ruby, but those planners are so strongly advertised that it kind of makes me mad. Sorry for venting - I can't find a feedback form for the planner.

They're in Textiles and Erimentha observes, "as customary," she's ahead of her classmates. What a folly to be placed among such imbeciles!

There's an altercation between her and Kimberly + a bottle of orange dye. It reaches its climax with Erimentha telling Kimberly she's scared of her, which seems to satisfy Kimberly's sadistic streak, only there is no safe word between them. (Tofu, perhaps? Is that what BDSM vegans pick?)

She goes to the bathroom and Kimberly follows her. Kimberly grabs her wrist and this is beginning to feel a bit 50 Shades of Dark Academia. She stabs her skin with a needle and Kimberly tells her to go back to class as though nothing happens. You're supposed to provide aftercare for your sub!

Back to class and the three girls pass Erimentha rude notes. She goes to the library. Ella is crying and the librarian asks Erimentha to have a talk with her, because that's an appropriate task to give to another child.

Ella is being bullied. Erimentha encourages her to tell a teacher. Ella knows Erimentha is being bullied, but Erimentha sweeps any of that talk under the carpet.

Why is there no actual content posted of her actual course? I don't expect her to be filming tutorials but there is ZERO attempt to introduce her followers to what the bleeping heck she is doing on her Masters? Leaving aside the usual teeth-brushing nonsense "routines" her time seems to be spent in Pret, wandering around various Oxford tourist spots or waving random books at the camera which may (or in some cases definitely don't) have something to do with her course? Have we had a single indication of an essay title, coursework submitted, days/hours when she has a tutorial, mention of a study group - anything at all to show that she in fact a student and not just some demented Oxford groupie wandering ghost-like around libraries wearing a tourist lanyard???

I find Ruby's birthday instagram post for Blakeney really uncomfortable and self centred, especially the way she's asked her fans to comment with their favourite things about her. Blakeney clearly doesnt thrive off of validation from strangers online the way Ruby does, so why the fuck would she care about what hundreds of random people in Ruby's comment section think of her? I doubt this gesture will mean anything to her, all it might do is creep her out a little bit.

Okay so I delved a little deeper into Ruby's goodreads and her 150 'books' read.

Her average book length was 249, with the shortest being 13 pages and the longest being 744 (which was David Cameron's autobiography ).
I think it's completely fine to put short stories on it but she's put everything as a book read, including essays, single poems, and the majority of what she's read appears to be children's literature. She read 37,358 pages overall.

I read 150 books in 2020, my average length was 335, my shortest was 12 pages (yes a short story lol) and my longest was 803. I managed 50,266 overall. Just for some perspective. Same amount of books, significantly more pages overall.

Also I love libraries and what ruby said pissed me the fuck off, I grew up forcing my poor mother to drag me and my younger sister down there once a week at least, because we couldn't afford to spend fucktons of money on books so libraries were how I got into reading. They're such an important resource and I continue to use them as an adult.

Palisades Lost? What a stupid title. It just sounds like word salad. Gives me zero idea of what the book is actually about. Unless it's about, idk, a medieval village's struggle with their exterior walls vanishing in the night as an enemy army approaches
Maybe it's Paradise Lost but she's seen it pronounced both ways
---
maybe she’s hoping people will mistake it for Paradise Lost and not realise until they’ve already purchased it
Sorry I just saw your comment, we thought the same 😂

Buckle up because I just transcribed one of the most infuriatingly nonsensical quotes from this video. I had to double-check multiple times that I didn’t turn the speed up because of how fast she talks (which is clearly changed in editing).

Ruby’s review of Norwegian Wood by Haruki Murakami:

"Next Norwegian Wood by.. Harookoo.. Myurakami.. which is the first Myurakami book I'd ack-shually ever read. I really liked this... um... again, quite lyrical--I KNOW I say lots of books are lyrical but I tend to like, choose lyrical books and it's one of the main selling points for me, like a lyrical book is my favorite kind of book, and so when I say a book is lyrical it's me saying 'WOW, I love the writing style SO much.'

I really loved how he had like... the interweaving of... TIME.. and different PEOPLE... and... um, it just felt like--the thing I love about this book is it just felt very real, like just the things that happened to these characters are real, like it's what happens in real life which is SO refreshing to read.

There were some quite graphic scenes though, which I've got to say I didn't particularly enjoy...but.., um, other than that I really liked it."

She says it's not hurting anyone to go home every weekend, forgetting that her parents may want some time to themselves. The home changes when children leave, it can be hard for parents to adjust to the empty nest, then your eldest turns up every weekend needing ceremonial tea and mourning the end of October.

If she really loves children so much, she should get out there and work/volunteer with kids (once COVID calms down, of course). There are TONS of options. I think she might enjoy helping out a speech therapist, as it's a combo of both kinds and literacy skills.
She doesn’t love children. She loves behaving and dressing like a child.

I don’t know why I found it so funny that the first photo in Ruby’s Greece photo dump was actually her in Paris. Could be a genuine mistake but, when I checked the vlog, the day the photo was taken was her birthday, so you’d think she’d realise she’s posting photos from different holidays and claiming them as the same one. Either way it made me laugh that’s she’s been on so many of the same style holidays with her family she’s getting them mixed up.

Please can we agree that graphology is a flawed practice. Multiple times I’ve seen it on these threads and I have to roll my eyes. It’s the same as trying to diagnose her through the screen of autism - just not accurate. (No hate to the people talking about it)

So apparently Blakeneys birthday involved a night hike to a private school which closed in 2020 and was noted to be requiring massive improvements by ofsted?

Friends, I am perplexed.
I get they’re pals and all but dedicating 4 entire ig posts just for your mates birthday is a bit intense imo.
