You can't have compulsory social events unless you are willing to pay your staff for it - it counts as work if it's compulsory.do tou think maybe they were just fans (i say were as i doubt hanging around tbem 24/7 means they are now) hence agreed to thisnbizarre schedule of work/socialising
What I would guess is happening, is it's not compulsory but they are making an atmosphere of inviting people over etc, and then people would not want to say no as they don't want to be 'left out' or have it affect their 'career'. So they end of having to go along, it's basically compulsory.
